    I don't understand how someone can grow too much in Christ to a point where they don't feel like talking about him all the time. As a matter of fact, the more you grow in him and know him in deeper levels, the more you want to share that with the world. I think if there had ever been a time we should raise the banner of JESUS high that time is now. I still love the old Lecrae.

    Hopped on the Lecrae train since Gravity when I was 13. As the years went I was always surprised when people were upset with him for collaborating with nonChristians and going mainstream. I only ever interpreted that as Lecrae bringing the Gospel to the world.
    I think going mainstream has pulled him away from certain core values, but it doesn’t change the fact that he’s the same brother-in-Christ since Real Talk. I disagree with Lecrae in many areas, but he’s still got my love and support.

      The feeling about Lecrae's transition is received differently by those who started out with him from the After the Music Stops and Real Talk albums. The content then was mainly appealing to the Christians but Like you have said the new content was now going out to everyone and not just Christians.

    It’s really hard to process your faith being an evangelical icon since evangelicals have not been known for much nuance. It’s very black and white, all or nothing thinking, and Lecrae, I think you are bold to deconstruct, process, and think out loud about your faith while still holding onto an audience you respect like the Evangelical church that you might no longer find yourself as closely tied to spiritually or intellectually. I heard Andy’s EPs on deconstruction. I’m going through it. It’s hard. And it’s good to challenge and question and grow, but it can also be threatening to a lot of people who don’t know how to handle it due to the lack of nuance they have. So all this to say I deeply respect you, I understand a little bit what y’all go through as a new young pastor of a conservative church in the South, and I just want to affirm your journey and encourage who you are.

Learning how to be at peace exactly where I am can be really difficult when I’m comparing myself to other Christians. It’s so easy to pose as someone you’re truly not and I think Lecrae experienced this as well. As he got older, he learned to be more okay with who he is and is still being transformed by Jesus. This is super relatable and I’m super thankful you shared your story!

I was going through a deep depression and substance abuse issues your music helped me through some dark hours. I rept you 100% and watching you then to now I truly fell in love with your music because of the person you were before in the past. You seemed to be more confident in yourself in the older videos and being a Christian. Stay true to yourself, stay true to God I don't understand why your so embarrassed with God. PLEASE brother stay true to God because if you deny him he may deny you on judgment day and all that money and the people around you I can see it are already bringing you down if they were your friend or had your best interest they would tell you your doing the right thing touching so many hearts including mine. It hurts my heart to see you so embarrassed by God or dont like talking about him. I'm gonna pray for you... Dont let the money, fame, the music industry change you. It's no secret the Industry will turn you out so fast a Christian man with Christian beliefs they will devour you. You have to change how you speak if you are also speaking to non-Christians. Tactfulness is key. You have to know your audience. Jesus never went full on with unbelievers like He did with Christians. It is all about getting as many people to God as possible. Seems like he is on another season in his life. It seems that his earlier music was for Christians and his newer music is for everyone. Come back to your first love my brother. As corny as you thought you were back then you were on point 👉. You had a genuine love for Jesus. People could feel it in your music, but when you made the shift to go mainstream or to please both sides, the Christian and secular that's when things changed. You started to compromise. I'm not here to bash you. I'm just some random guy commenting under your video reminding you to Come back to your first love. Jesus Christ.

    But Don't play word games LeCrae. If you want to just do secular music then say that and move on and maybe let people know once you figure more out you'll be back to talk about it. Those who do Christian music have a desire to do only or primarily that. If you no longer have the desire to do that unless it's a song or two here and there that's fine but don't play word games because in the end you're just playin yourself. I do think you should examine why you no longer want to do primarily Christian music because there is something there. But examine yourself privately because that's your right and most importantly that's your responsibility. Editing to add that I do think you're going through a spiritual valley and you should embrace it. Truth welcomes scrutiny and Christ says He is the Truth so go out and find out for yourself once and for all

    My brother, you're the reason I started listening to hip hop. At some point, I noticed a change in your music. It wasn't about Christ anymore. Your music used to be set apart from the world, and it ministered to me. YOU used to be set apart. I know other people feel the same way, and that's why so many are speaking out against you. Some of them are just haters, but there are those like myself who speak with love. You've been blessed with a successful career and a bigger platform, but you've backed away from your humble origins. It used to be all about Him. Now it's about you. You've compromised my brother.

    I totally agree when you say just because your a Christian does not mean your work needs to be a sermon, you have pastors,church’s, the Bible the Holy Spirit to teach an individual, the gift God gave us is to bear good fruit and by our fruit people will know who we belong to. So keep pushing Lecrae, I remember in my early walks with Christ I would listen to your music and it gave me so much strength and courage and when I had a weak moment in my life and I had back slide I remember being in an apartment with people doing drugs and they had MTV on and when your song “I’m turnt” came on I was the only one in the room going crazy like yo he made it! He did it! And everyone in the room looked at me like what?!? And I remember telling everyone that night who you were and that I’m a lover a Christ but just hit a hard path in my life. Flashback 5 years later the owner of that apartment died of an overdose. By that time I had left all of those friends and things, I became a mother and now I’m just restoring my relationship with God. Life is not perfect but with God by my side he makes it perfect! I’m thankful for your music, it’s definitely my workout playlist to keep my mind focused and it’s therapy for me to relate to other Christians who struggle on a day to day basis. I got stories for days I remember wanting to go to 116 concert here in Miami this was for your new album Anomaly, I remember for some weird reason my card was blocked that night when I went up to purchase the tickets, a vendor who worked inside came up to me and said if I worked in their booth before the show I would be able to watch the show for free, man I had the best seat in the whole place and after that I was able to pick a free shirt! I love the 116 crew and you Lecrae. Thanks again and God Bless

    I will say, this video definitely gives me more clarity and empathy to his journey. Being completely honest, I’ve judged Lecrae pretty hard the last few years. I felt like he was chasing acceptance from main stream and masking it as taking the gospel to the lost. And it hurt because he was such a big part of helping me be bold and brave thru college. I drew courage from Seeing and hearing him declaring being unashamed. And his music today doesn’t necessarily invoke that same feeling. But none the less, I’m encouraged by this video because I can tell Lecrae is still pressing forward and I can see in his journey, his faith is strong. He’s just going thru the ups and downs we all do. His are just in front of the camera.

    Imagine if the students of Christ (disciples) in the new testament felt like Mr. Lacrae? The more you talk and act like the culture around you and the less you talk about the Christ of the scriptures meant you're "wiser" and more "mature" than your younger self...not a transformed life (loving what God loves and hating what God hates while OBEYING his COMMANDS) NOPE! You want proof you're maturing in the faith...look like everyone else and talk like everyone else... fit in w/the culture there's the mark of the new birth...WHAT A JOKE!🤣

    It’s so interesting reading comments of people saying Lecrae is lukewarm and they like the “old Lecrae” It just shows you’re young and lack wisdom. You’re at that stage where it’s about naive zeal and not having a lot of real experience of life. I’m willing to guess that you guys aren’t even as “bold and on fire for Christ” as you want Lecrae to be in your day to day lives and if you are the type that walks around talking that religious talk you are mainly hanging with legalistic and religious folk like yourself and don’t even have a clue what it is like to be in Lecrae’s position trying to learn how to communicate with people who aren’t within the church world while on such a huge platform under so much scrutiny but I hear you talking like you do with hardly any grace or understanding.
    You’re looking for someone who embodies the boldness that you lack in your own daily walk. You want a super Christian hero to put on a pedestal because in your day to day life you see your own insecurities and lack of being “on fire and bold for Christ” lol I used to be you so I get it but I’m glad Lecrae freed himself from living up to that expectation. It would crush anyone. That’s not how actually walking out the faith works in real life.
    It’s understandable. Just live a little and one day you will be like Lecrae in this video looking back on your younger insecure, misguided, full of zeal self who thought they knew but didn’t have a clue. Lol
    I prefer this grown and mature Lecrae not when he was young and full of naive zeal speaking Christianise to appease super religious folks.

    • @GILGAMESH-Nero
      @GILGAMESH-Nero 3 года назад

      Lecrae’s older music was more spirit filled and bold for Christ. Now in his new music, he boasts about himself and what he has, which God is against.
      Proverbs 27:2 ESV
      Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; a stranger, and not your own lips.
      Now Lecrae seems to be trying to please the world, rather than pleasing God. So he tones down some of the more serious biblical subjects. When asked about the topic of homosexuality in some interviews he’s done, he went around the question, rather than just saying what the Bible says.
      English Standard Version
      Galatians 1:10
      For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.

    • @KarlNova
      @KarlNova 3 года назад +2

      @@GILGAMESH-Nero This is a lie. You do not really listen to Lecrae’s music. You need to repent of bearing false witness against him. Go and listen to his new album “Restoration” and “All Things Work Together” and basically anything he’s released that is new and it’s very clear your statement is false. You should be ashamed of yourself for telling such a bald faced lie when it’s so evident you’re lying and it’s easy to verify.
