I had a dream I was underwater
struggling to find which was up
After so much pushing and clawing
I find the surface
Only to rise from a bed
But not my bed, not my room
An unrecognizable building
All I knew was I had to move quick
And get out
Leaping from one shadow to the next
Heart pounding and in my throat
I couldn’t be found out
Unacceptable
A moment’s silence
Standing in my bathroom, a familiar place
Approaching the mirror I see my face
Open
The inside full of spiders
And while I fight with that
My reality shifts yet again
I wake up slowly collecting my mind
Realizing where I am now and where I was
Processing the weight of many lives lived
Understanding I’m awake now
But feeling abused by the lives before.
Maybe this is what it’s like when we die
Our fire never really put out
But shoved from one world to the next
Our infant conscious mind a clean slate
Still unaware of all the pushing left to do.
So maybe that’s what keeps me from taking myself to infinity.
The creeping suspicion that I won’t be going anywhere
But rather waking up in someone else’s dream. - Кино
