Tremendous job, Rich, on a great “little” fight from the awesome 80s. Knight is definitely a “what could have been?” story of the last 40 years. He had a very gifted left hand that was absolutely deadly with that scythe-like delivery he used. He set it up well with a deceptively effective right lead.
Love your channel rich. Not a lot of unnecessary talk, just the basic background and highlights of the fighter. You are by far the best for what you do, and there are guite a few out there. I had completely forgotten about baysmore until this video. Thanks, RICH.
Had the privilege of spending time with Harold "Shadow" Knight in South Africa when he was trainer to Lennox Lewis who was defending his title against Hasim Rahman. I used to watch these fights as a little boy on Gil Clancey's Boxing Special in the 80s.
I had forgotten about this! Always think of Baysmore as SR Leonard protege who was crushed by my all time fav Roger Mayweather with one of the great right hands.
How you doing Rich Awesome videos I'm new Chris Gonzales from New Bedford MA I gotta question seeing this great fight on ESPN and ESPN had Alot of Great fights before ESPN 2 do you have The Fights between The Harold Brazier vs Rockin Robin Blake Great Fight and Kevin Pompey vs. Tyrone Trice also forgotten classics
Baysmore was a very good amateur who when he turned pro alot was expected from Baysmore. Unfortunately he fell short in the pros. Harold Knight ended up losing to Lockridge in his lone title fight. I believe an eye injury cut Knights career short.
Al does analysis, Larry still around at over 90 was a newspaper man and excellent writer from Philly, did commentary not analysis. He was part of the original group that invested in Joe Frazier in the 1960’s. Larry knows boxing history like few do. Sadly Al was part of what was the chatterbox team at Showtime. Three guys over talking each other. It was so bad I used to turn off the volume. Showtime smartly no longer is involved in boxing. Don’t know where Al will go. He’s a great guy that was not allowed to be his best at Showtime. He may be on PPV but I now refuse to buy these overpriced shows so I don’t know. He ads value wherever he goes.
The late steve smoger refereeing this fight. We rode a train together going from London to Cardiff for a show. Really nice guy. RIP. Rich wasn't kenny baysmore a referee at one time? I seem to remember him reffing fights. Am I thinking of somebody else?
Actually Rich live a Mind you did I saw your old videos Kevin Pompey and Tyrone Trice that was a Amazing fight just your Content on that Pompey Trice fight 👍
Rich ,Keepin boxing history alive one fighter at a time.
A memorable fight. Back when I regularly watched ESPN Top Rank boxing.

Thanks, A Mc. Yeah, Knight could have made some noise in the 130-135 pound class.
Wow, what a fight. I never knew about this one. Thanks for posting it!

Excellent videos 🥊🔥
Yo I am curious can you make a documentary of these sugar ray robinson conquerors like gene fullmer or Carmen basilio or Randy Turpin
Fear the left hook...
I remember that fight with Mayweather. SRL was ringside supporting Baysmore. Ray looked extremely unhappy after Baysmore kissed the canvas.

Al Bernstein was an excellent analyst. Always liked him 1000x better than chatterboxes like Larry Merchant.
