Not just good foreshadowing but also shows what an evil character she is. She mentions one of her son's wrong doings while talking to the father of the girl that her son may have killed. She has no remorse at all for what happened to Margot and even confesses to covering for him in the past. Her only focus is covering for her son no matter what he's done, no consideration for anyone he hurt or scammed.

Debra Messing should be joined Casts The Man From Toronto with Kevin Hart, Woody Harrelson, Kaley Cuoco and Pierson fode Director by Patrick Hughes 👈🙏🙏👍⚡💯
One thing that I still don't understand, how can Margot found Robert (the stalking kid) venmo? The Mother Detective only said that Margot found his son's venmo and wired the money, but the account was already deleted? I'm still confused for that part. Plus I think fish_n_chips doesn't leave any clues regarding Venmo account during the live chat?
Isn’t Venmo account linked by phone number/email so Margot would only see the phone# or email plus contact named she saved/stalker put as username. After money was wired the account was deleted but the transaction under Margot bank exists so you can see the Venmo account number but clicking on it just says account no longer exists
The best part about this movie was the foreshadowing.

SPOILERS
Her story about covering for her kid is so unsettling in retrospect. Excellent foreshadowing.
Usually good to hit enter a few times before writing the spoiler. Like so.
SPOILER.

Keywords: Assigned to the case. Little did we know, that was NOT the case!
She let him know that she’ll cover for her son if need be.
Too bad he didn't realize until it was too late.
Such a good movie

Look closely at her body language. That's a huge clue that she is lying.
She wasn't lying about that story
The fact that SHE WASN'T lying is an important clue. You've missed it.
Notice how said told the dad what she said to the neighbour but nothing about her reprimanding or tell her son off

This was also in Defending Jacob

Did you ever get the answer to this?
