I really dont understand the hate on the 4060 series, I think they are solid products package with all the very good software from Nvidia. You benchmarks are always solid and true to the viewers but I think some big youtubers they got cut off from the paycheck from nvidia Marketing. Ok the hardware might have got some low budget investment for this gen but it synergizes well with dlss and FG. On top, the 4060 technology consumes less power and delivers extra 10% in some cases (engineering wise this is HUGE in every sector of the industry). Some people wish this card to cost 250 MSRP and deliver 1440p performance and it does it most games if tweaked well. On the other hand, they forget that we got Covid, everything is more expensive now, starting from food, rent, cars, restaurants, insurances and electronics won't fall far from the tree. Most of them have no idea what it takes to develop a new product... Thanks for the amazing review!
RX 7600 was a nobrainer for me for $310 when i bought the card in september. The Sapphire Pulse is silent and maintains good temps, while the cheapest RTX 4060 (like the horrible Palit Dual model) still costs around $350, with half-decent models being offered at close to $400. I'm more than happy to have this little AMD card - works well for editing and gaming!
i have 7600 sapphire pulse. It`s not silent if u want hotspot lower than 80°C. also card need undervolt for 2650 mhz instead stock 2750 (otherwise it will crash with driver timeouts) when I solved this problem, I started to like this video card. Of course, 4060 is better, but at the time of purchase the difference between them was approximately $80, which is almost a quarter of the price with a difference in performance of several fps
@@Eheh59 I'm sorry, but my card didn't crash even once in 8 months with daily gaming and editing in Resolve 19. Stock settings, latest WHQL driver (constantly updated when new ones are released). The card can boost core clocks to 2900+ and still has rock-solid stability. You may have some problems with your system configuration or your card is faulty. But i can agree - the hotspot temps aren't pretty.
@@Alis_Games the truth is that I didn’t fully understand which of the measures ultimately helped stop driver timeouts. I tried digging into the power consumption settings, installed professional drivers, updated the processor chipset drivers, turned up the adrenaline speed curve and unchecked the “zero fan speed” checkbox. Some of this helped, and I don't want to break it by continuing to try experiments.
@@AncientGameplays I don’t know, but perhaps the temperature was one of the reasons for the departures. Nobody knows anything for sure about this problem, although it is old, as far as I understand
Idk..For me its really really hard to recommend any of those when the previous gen still exists. If u wanna stay in 1080p just get a 6600(XT) or 6650XT if u can if available for less money. Or a 6700 (XT) if still available in your region. Another example: Here in Germany a 4060ti costs around 380€, but u can get a 6800 non XT for that price which absolutely destroys the 4060ti. Id personally go for a 6700XT (cause I owned one) if available and if it had to be Nvidia features+blender work, than Id go for a 3060ti 12GB. A friend of mine wanted a new PC just to play Baldurs Gate 3 in 1080p, very very mild casual gaming, basically only that game and a few older indie titles, so I recommended her to get a 6600XT for GB3. Unfortunately it wasnt available anymore but I just couldnt recommend the 7600 or 4060. Since I wanted to upgrade to a high end card (for my 5800x3D), I ended up selling her my previous PC with my 6700XT, so I could finally upgrade to a 7900xtx nitro+.

Thank you so much for your reviews and benchmarks. Always top-notch and detailed. May I know what software do you use to overclock the RTX 4060? Also, is there a guide on how to do it safely?
A couple of thoughts from me. Why don't your stock clocks have SAM/Rebar enabled as that is what most people would use by default and would likely make a difference to the results at stock settings? Also you are giving percentages based on the overclocked results, when I think it should really be based on the stock settings but with SAM/Rebar enabled. Not everyone will overclock and some may not even get the same overclocks as you. Cheers.
Model matters. Don't get the small 4060's because the thermals and fan sound suck. 7600xt should be a triple fan to keep it nice and cool. It will boil down to the $309-$319 cards.
@@AncientGameplaysmy priority is to keep for long term, main purpose play Gta 6 with it, so i kind of confused between 4060( 28k Inr), 7600xt (32 inr) , 3060 12gb (26k inr), 7600 8gb.(27k inr) Budget is tight, whhat would be better.?
@@siddharthsahu7123 GTA6 is not even out yet, the GPUs you listed are already low to mid tier at best. GTA6 will come out in 2025 fall on console meaning for PC it usually comes out a year later which will probably be Fall 2026 to 2027. Your budget might be tight but you do not want to waste money currently on a gpu that will not cut it in 2 to 3 years. My advice would be to invest on a AM5 PC build right now and worry about GPU later, you did not say what your cpu was, that matters too.
@@BigDoggTheDon my current setup is ryzan 5 5600g, 32 gb RAM , 1 TB m2 nvme ssd. Gta 6 will be for ps5, as per my understanding and online results for minimum specs, GTA 6 should be able to work with gtx 1080 ti , recommended might be rx 6600 level card or rtx 2060. PS 5 gpu is less powerful than a rtx3060 12 gb as per web search.
Would be interesting to see how the AMD cards perform in productivity with ZLUDA. Just to see how much software is gimped by only being written for Nvidia
Finally, a good comparison between these cards. I bought a few months before the 7600XT was relaesed, shame for me. Overall I'm happy and play many games I own on high details in 1440p and I'm not afraid to use FSR2 if available due to power savings ;)
I don't know if I can consider a GPU better if it is consuming almost twice as much energy, the cost matters but in the long run I will end up paying more for that extra consumption.
The biggest problem of the RX7600 is its high Power Consumption compared to the RTX 4060 and the last gen RX6600. If this card had, for example, 130w-140w of Power Draw I would reconsider
I just got 7600 XT because I've got previously a GTX 1660 and it didn't work well with my Freesync monitor. I immediately downclocked and undervolted the Radeon and it shows consumption of around 130W. I only play older games, but still want to have more memory if I decide to play with GPU compute. The price diff between XT and non-XT is insignificant and saving about 40EUR now might bite me in the ass later. I feel that the next tier is pretty expensive and overkill for my needs
6 months after your review and I pulled the trigger on the Sapphire Pulse model. No complaints so far except that I couldn't undervolt it lower than 1.150V. Not so lucky with the silicon lottery. But still, better than paying $400 for an RTX 4060 her in the Philippines, and with the rumors of possible price increase on current and upcoming models, I might not be able to buy a gpu for years to come. So the time was right for me to snag one.
For the AI Image Generation using Stable Diffusion - u are able to run AMD GPU's using Direct ML and ZLuda with ONNX, instead of simply just Direct ML with ONNX. ZLuda helps the image generation tremendously on windows OS. However with Stable Diffusion and AMD, to use RocM it is only on Linux (as of right now) because Pytorch only supports AMD on Linux (hopefully in the future it'll be available for windows!)
The price difference isn't too big, but it's a difficult choice, because it's not a good spot to be picking a gpu in. I'd suggest people who don't like the price on these to consider the previous models, like the RX 6600/6650/6700(XT) and 3060.
Picked up the 7600xt as a temporary GPU from a sale (300€) since i really needed a new rig. Should run perfectly on my old 1080p monitors. Ill update the monitors later and then pick up a higher end card. Normal prices in Finland are pretty inflated, normally the XT is near 400€. The new gpus are around the corner anyways
Coming from a 1050ti I'm happy with my 4060 as i don't really play that much AAA games plus i got a good deal of 113$ brand new! you can find gems if you look hard enough
17:37 RTX 4060 16GB will blow our minds... 8GB vs 16 GB: -62% FPS avg/ -74% FPS 1% low 16GB vs 8 GB: 2.65x FPS avg/ 3.85x FPS 1% low 7600 vs 7600XT shows how not having enough RT hardware accelerators is bad but, most importrantly, not having enough VRAM is key to awful performance.
Nice! I like that you also talk about the averages now and the power consumption. And this is the only channel that gives benchmarks with overclocking also. I watched your video even though i have RX 7900XT and don't really care about the lower tear now but it's very well thought. Keep it up, good thing benchmarking the ai and other work stuff. I know people that want to use GPUs for something else than gaming and i don't know of any channel that does this. Was considering recommending amd to a friend for some architectural rendering app but now i realise i am so wrong. I hear on the cpu side (for work) intel might also be better even though i am rooting for amd (not talking about servers cpu). Also love the fact that you are an european! :) we need more european perspectives even though the $$$ are from american views.
yep, he can tap the untapp market /audience . peoples who lived in certain area or condition. like dorm . offgrid, with electric dificulties, orl limited watt per room or house, nvidia always related to them except from price pov. but who didnt when u competitor ignore this certain audiences .
Remember, if you see the rx 7600 underperforming, it's cause amd cards use more vram than nvidia ones. I got a rx 7600 for 260 euro last septemver. For the price there is no alternative. But you have to babysit your vram usage. Control with and rachet and clank were really bad for me.

i think your conclusion is a bit wrong. Let me explain. I was out of the PC building circle for around 8-9 years. my last GPU was a RX480 strix, 8gb. I just sold it a month ago for little less than half what i paid. The 8gb Vram are a game change changer when down the road, people start looking for cheap cards to run modest gaming rigs. Those extra vram will mean a lot in the next year or two, and used market will punish the lack of vram. I bought the 7600xt for 280 usd las black friday, and paired with a 7500f and 32gb ram ddr5, it's been a very good upgrade.

There's not a lot to actually do there. Maybe use Anisotropic Filtering 16x by default. Most modern games can't be manipulated using the GPU driver anyway so those settings will be irrelevant. Default is absolutely the best if you don't know what you're doing.
@@MLWJ1993 Yeah I can confirm anisotropic filtering 16x has made at least 1 of my games look much better. @Kareemonyt AO is Dx9 only afaik. Not even Dx11 is affected by it (and those usually have their own AO implementation anyway). You also need the correct compatibility bits to make it function for the most part (it renders on top of transparency, so will still look slightly wrong regardless).

With do you want hotspot below 80C exactly?
I see
you cant easily find the 6700 xt though.
wait there was 3060ti 12gb? i tought the only model that had 12gb of vram just the 3060 not the ti version

Thank you so much for your reviews and benchmarks. Always top-notch and detailed. May I know what software do you use to overclock the RTX 4060? Also, is there a guide on how to do it safely?
Thanks, I used MSI afterburner as always. Watch my tutorial
@@AncientGameplays I have found it now. Great tutorial as always and straightforward. Keep up the good work. Thanks
Cheers.
It will be that way next retests 💪💪
Ancient, if I get 4060 and 7600xt at the same price in amazon (290 aprox) the right choice would be 7600xt right?
Depends, watch the video. The model also matters
Model matters. Don't get the small 4060's because the thermals and fan sound suck. 7600xt should be a triple fan to keep it nice and cool. It will boil down to the $309-$319 cards.
@@AncientGameplaysmy priority is to keep for long term, main purpose play Gta 6 with it, so i kind of confused between 4060( 28k Inr), 7600xt (32 inr) , 3060 12gb (26k inr), 7600 8gb.(27k inr)
Budget is tight, whhat would be better.?
For the performance of these cards, I'll probably pick whichever cheaper.
Still better, but consuming much more
The biggest problem of the RX7600 is its high Power Consumption compared to the RTX 4060 and the last gen RX6600. If this card had, for example, 130w-140w of Power Draw I would reconsider
Very bad power consumption. I'll get 4060 instead of those 2.
Because it also is 40% faster than the 6600 usually
@@AncientGameplays even in PCI 3.0, Fabio? My PC is kinda old 😅

@@AncientGameplays Thank you. There is also the implementation of zluda to translate cuda.
if the price of the rx 7600xt comes down to 300$, do u think it would be worth it more
Definitely
Hope so
if i want to stream and record games at the same time , 16gb vram comes to good use no?
In that case yes
The price difference isn't too big, but it's a difficult choice, because it's not a good spot to be picking a gpu in. I'd suggest people who don't like the price on these to consider the previous models, like the RX 6600/6650/6700(XT) and 3060.
Picked up the 7600xt as a temporary GPU from a sale (300€) since i really needed a new rig. Should run perfectly on my old 1080p monitors. Ill update the monitors later and then pick up a higher end card. Normal prices in Finland are pretty inflated, normally the XT is near 400€. The new gpus are around the corner anyways
Coming from a 1050ti I'm happy with my 4060 as i don't really play that much AAA games plus i got a good deal of 113$ brand new! you can find gems if you look hard enough
got an RX6800 instead of both of these new offerings.
17:37 RTX 4060 16GB will blow our minds...
8GB vs 16 GB: -62% FPS avg/ -74% FPS 1% low
16GB vs 8 GB: 2.65x FPS avg/ 3.85x FPS 1% low
7600 vs 7600XT shows how not having enough RT hardware accelerators is bad but, most importrantly, not having enough VRAM is key to awful performance.

There's not a lot to actually do there. Maybe use Anisotropic Filtering 16x by default. Most modern games can't be manipulated using the GPU driver anyway so those settings will be irrelevant.
