- Today I'm doing a review of the Gaomon PD 1161 Graphic Tablet. This is a pen display that you can connect to your PC or laptop and use as a drawing screen, making is ideal for drawing and digital art. The tablet comes with a pressure sensitive pen and is a compact 11 inches wide. In this review, I'll be unboxing the tablet, walking through the set up and share my thoughts from working with the display.

The 11.61 probably wouldn’t work as well for me, as it’s not much bigger than my 9.7 inch iPad...

Just wanted to let you know that this was VERY helpful and SUCH a "clean" review. No excess promotional yacking on and on about things I didn't want to hear about just right to the information on the tablet. Thank you, it's my favorite review of anything I've looked up videos on thus far. More reviewers should be like this. Normally I click around on reviews to try and find the bits I want to know about. Admittedly I clicked past the unboxing but directly after that was everything I wanted to know. Thank you and keep up the good work.

Thank you for helping me come to a decision on this art tablet. I have NO room but my lap. I have a seperate adjustable stand so that's not an issue, and as long as the quality is good, like you say, I think it'll be well worth the purchase. My current drawing tablet isn't even the size of a sheet of paper, and that's the whole thing, so this will be a NICE upgrade for me.

Just got this tablet for christmas and was curious about what others had to say about it! Thank you!
I got this tablet too for Christmas but today I was useing it and it has a problem getting hot and all that and then while I was useing it for about 20 minutes and it was turning off and on and then the green light while that happened turn green and red over and over and then it started turning off and on but with a green screen with all theses dots it was so weird I had to unplug it and put it away,
@@ConfirmedLooneys Wow! I personally didn't have any problems with mine except for cursor offset issues but I eventually figured that out. I would contact customer service and see if they can help you or send you a new one.
@@Lunarwulve that's good you ain't having no problems, I told my mother and she's gonna tell my dad *who bought it* and ig he's gonna contact them but I hope if I get a new one it dosent happen again 😅
Also weird part about it like I never dropped it or anything and I always keep it in the box it came in and never had nothing on it or my cat on it and I only used it about 4 times in an span from Xmas till today

Ive been wanting to try a screen tablet for a while and needed an upgrade from the wacom intuos manga small. How would it feel going from that tablet to this one be?
A wacom small tablet was actually my very first tablet before I got the pen display ones. For me the switch made my process instantly easier and more enjoyable. It might take a little bit of time to get used to looking at the tablet whilst you're drawing and not the screen:)

I prefer the large drawing display like my 24inch xp-pen artist 24 pro.it's cool! 11.6inch is too small to draw if conside that the drawing software also need some display area.

how did you get the screen to be full size like that?
I dont know why but it disconnects my monitor when I plug it in to the HDMI slot. And I can't change it back unless I restart my computer

I have some questions - hopefully someone can help out. . . when I changed the display setting to 'mirror' on my Mac, the colors seem off on my laptop screen - there seems to be a yellowish tint on the display. Also, my display on my laptop is smaller. Can someone give me some info on this/how to adjust? Thanks!!!!

Just got mine ^^ its not even a month old. Its been working well but just today while drawing it turned to static and now it just shows a black screen. It still works- as the pen can register across the screen- but its completely black. Ive been searching internet for problem solving but I cant find anything. Since you have the same tablet, might I ask if you've come across a problem like this? And how you solved it?

I've been looking for a video on how to use this tablet and I'm not having luck. I'm very new at all this digital art stuff and there are no videos that explain step by step everything you need to know. A lot of the videos just dive right in and expect you to know this device already. Do I need to have adobe illustrator or some other adobe software downloaded first before I can use this tablet?

I bought this tablet and it works, I can see on photoshop that the pen works, the only problem is that I can't see anything on the tablet. I don't know why, the only things that I can see on the screen is "power saving" and "no signal"... But everything is connected in the right way... Do you know what the problem can be?

No not from my experience.
They come with a screen protector already installed at the factory. Many people don't realise this and think the screen is scratched. I learned this reading the Amazon reviews.

My friend has a 16inch XP-Pen Artist 15.6 Pro drawing monitor for 2 years how and she is happy with it. She had a Gaomon before that broke.

I'm getting mine next Friday, how do I set up left hand mode? I am a lefty, and working with my huion was kinda annoying because I was always hitting the express keys.
Not sure, there will probably be some info on that on the Gaomon website:)
@@WindyIris I got mine, and I love it. I didn't need to put it on left hand mode since the screen was a good distance away from the express keys.

You didn't show how much delay the pen makes a manual line/scratch.
The gap space between the pen and the line it makes.
That is what I am concerned to make me feel like writing or sketching on paper.
I'm thinking of getting this as a starting tablet. But I wanted to ask, what software do you use to draw?
I'm using Photoshop but there are other cheaper and free drawing programs as well. The tablet should work with most of them. The company may have a list of compatible programs on their website😀
Krita is free and open source! Great alternative!
so, I just bought this... it's missing pieces. There's no powercord or pen stand... it came with the big bunch of cables, the tablet, and the pen and that's it.
Did they just send me a refurbish but charged me for new?
How do you get the tablet to use the full work area?
Sorry If I’m late, but after downloading the driver for your specific tablet. There will be a sort of settings for the tablet to configure everything, such as work area for the tablet

what kind of wall plugs are those??? im in the US so im not familiar with that round shape.
does it come with US power outlet adapter?
The round plug is a EU standard one but I think you can pick which you need:)
Do you need to plug it with a device or can you just plug it onto an outlet? Does it work as a power source?
You need to plug it into both, the cords that go into the computer or whatever device you are working with are: the HDMI and USB cables. While another cable goes into a power brick for plugging into an outlet. I hope this helps:)

What software did u used?
If I have a computer and only 1 HDMI port (the one connected to my GPU) how I can see the image in the main monitor and on the tablet? Right now only show me the image on the tablet.
You will need either 2 HDMI ports, one for the tablet and one for your monitor or find another way to connect the monitor to your pc (you can sometimes use the VAGA port if you have one). Hope this helps, I am no computer expert by any means.
How do you make it a touch screen like your doing?
Its only a touch screen when using the pen and the pen should work right away, once you have installed the driver software:)
when i go onto the website there is no Win Driver option so i cant download it on windows :(. if you have a solution please let me know :)

No you need Adobe already. The tablet is like a second screen or monitor so it does not come with any programs.

is it true that the dirvers cause conflict with other pen tablet drivers? i heard that you cant install gaomon drivers alingside huion or wacom drivers. please confirm this, as i am about to pull the trigger lol
Yes you need to unistall any other pen tablet drivers first.
