@@edwarddesenne6153, I always try to think of playing on my horn as a vocalist. I tend to play melodically as that is how I would sing. A great phrase that I have adopted is, “play to express, not to impress!”

I have to hear in my head what i play wihout mathematical fractions and intervals to study beforehand
