Belle Reve Federal Penitentiary is a special prison for metahumans & other supervillains. It is located in Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana near the Gulf of Mexico, surrounded by miles of swamp land. Being the prison for many supervillains, it was chosen by Amanda Waller as the headquarters of the Suicide Squad who can reduce their sentences by working on missions which they referenced in this game's end credits.

Quincy Sharp should truly get what's coming to him in Arkham 3, After what happened in Arkham City and what he said about Blackgate Prison. Like Sharp's plan was that good! "Newsflash" Quincy "ARKHAM CITY WAS WAY MUCH WORSE THAN BLACKGATE PRISON!!"
True. With Arkham City getting shut down, Hush running around Gotham, Batman feeling down for what happened to Joker, Scarecrow still hiding and shipping fear gas, the next game is going to be pretty intense!
Hey, for the ones who just finished the hotel sequence, did you guys notice a similarity between the argument between Batman & Alfred and Walter & Skyler from breaking bad? Specifically the "I am the one who knocks" speech. Alfred was like "you're not some hardened vigilante" and Skyler said "you're not some hardened criminal". Also, both Batman and Walter's responses were similiar. It was something to the effect of "who do you think you see when you look at me?"
Gotta love Tom Kane as Quincy Sharp. People may also know him as Admiral Yularen in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, HIM from The Powerpuff Girls or Monkey Fist in Kim Possible.
Congrat's. I would love to see you beat "I am The NIGHT!!!! Mode" Awesome work, awesome video. Watching you play this is reminding me of my "Ninja Gaiden" days.
You kind of did when you said, "the series wouldnt be the same without Batman as the main protag." As for the next game, I was talking about Rocksteady, and there are solid theories that suggest exploration through Blüdhaven. Also, this would be a great way to expand the next game further, and even though it's Nightwing's territory, something like this (along with Gotham's destruction from Azrael's prediction) would likely draw both him AND Batman into the story, like with Batman and Catwoman.
Agreed. It felt like we were rushed, the most interesting part (where Bane discovers the Batman's identity) was interjected with only a bridge fight sequence, rescue Alfred, and back to Joker and Bane again. They should have added some other element that distracted Batman from getting to either Alfred, or Blackgate.
FINALLY! SOMEONE WHO MENTIONS THAT! I loved the Joker's flashback, but it really ruffled my feathers that they just ignored the interview tapes. Even worse, it would've been perfectly fine if they had just made the doctor not Harley; since he always changes his story this would've just been a case where he told something else to a different doctor, but nope, it just HAD to be Harley. It's still a good game though. (You're okay in my book by the way, you give interesting ideas to the table.)
If any other location is added, which we know there will be since they’re going to expand the world map, there’s already tons of hints to criminals returning to Bludhaven. That combined with the fact that there is no longer any canonical prison left in Gotham that’s inhabitable, and you can expect Bludhaven’s prisons to be overrun with new threats. Also, considering it’s a city in the Batman universe, it’ll likely have higher priority than Metropolis. Part three of four.
Because of its secure location on a secluded island, Blackgate began to take prominence over Gotham State, until the latter became virtually unused. in this story it's a mixed iconic reference of Blackgate Prison, if you paid close attention they used both. one which is on a stone island (the scene with Killer Croc lying on the gate tipping over the cliff)
this could've been a long time ago when batman was in his early years (like the producers said, not where batman's getting used to the gadgets and skills, but with dealing with supervillains). that means there's a whole lot of years in between this game and asylum because by that time, the police are on very good terms with batman and three robins have already been under batman's tutelage. this many years would also mean barbara aged a bit, therefore fitting her role as Oracle after Batgirl.
A perfect game like this needs many many many people, but, just the correct people. I love when the joker sing for batman, soo sad that batman don't like it.
Looking back on the dialog with Quincy makes me disappointed in his character. He sounds really well spoken and smart about the events that took place in Origins. Shame that he ended up taking part in Arkham City.
BatmanAV, for your inevitable Easter Eggs video, I noticed a two things when replaying the Final Offer level. After locking Tracey up, on a table in the room is a plan for the Iceberg Lounge and when hacking the computer, the network security system is called "Bonaparte". In Arkham City, one of Hugo's interview tapes with the Penguin has Hugo asking Penguin if he knows what a Napolean Complex is. It could be a coincidence, but it's a pretty Strange one if it is.
I really hate how they made Joker the center of it all again. It made me disappointed because I liked the concept of Black Mask, yet he got a fight with like five other guys. And then all the mobsters in suits are wearing joker masks.
I suppose. I am actually very exited for the next game. Also, seeing as this is so highly anticipated, I'm sure they're going to go out of their way to make this the best Batman game possible. It'll be an amazing time in 2014.
I have to admit, that would be interesting for a chapter two in Origins, but I still feel as though they wouldn't want to veer into another superheroes universe unless that hero shows up as well. Besides, it's been confirmed in interviews that Rocksteady actually wants to one day develop a Superman game (which I'm sure would be AWESOME) so chances are, they'd probably save that kind of location for the day that becomes a reality. Only time will tell, but chances are, it will have the SS in it.
there should be a new batman post arkham city game since there were so many things left unsolved like the "hush" case or the "watcher in the wings case" that had some traction to it. they should also add either robin or nightwing with their own missions within the game like what they did with catwoman. the dlc for harley quinn"s revenge was a nice touch.
What makes you think they aren't working on it right now? There's plenty of stuff in there that points to Arkham 3. Just like they left a clue in Asylum about Arkham City, they left a secret that implied Scarecrow would be in the next game. There were clues that he'd possibly been working with Hush and Riddler.
looking forward to it. i hope they would also something like getting to play as the villains with their own storylines or a prelude to the main plot or something to that effect. ill be waiting for the new game.
I'll gladly pay money for each and every villain they add as a playable character. Just as long as the moveset isn't over 50% identical to another fighter.
have you ever thought that re-opening an asylum and arresting many villains takes quite a while? Sharp did say that he was gonna propose the re-opening of Arkham Asylum, so the timeline is quite acurate at that
Blackgate Prison (later known as Blackgate Penitentiary) operated separately from Gotham Prison (later known as Gotham State Penitentiary). Both prisons are located in Gotham ,Gotham State Pen. was the primary correctional facility used in the comics up until the early 1990s. According to modern continuity, in the early 1900s, Blackgate Prison was condemned by Amnesty International & forced to shut down. When the prison eventually re-opened, it was officially known as "Blackgate Penitentiary"
Just a speculation, but I think that the DLC story is going to take place in Arkham Asylum for the folowing reasons: 1.Because of this end credit interview. where the story might take place in the reopening of the asylum. 2.On the map of the game, you can see a land just right above penguin's ship, which is most likely Arkham Asylum. 3.One time in the game, Alfred and Batman talk about Arkham Asylum.
I grew up watching the animated series and didn't read any comics, so I know very little about Black Mask and even less about Hush. I'm really hoping the easter eggs of Hush working with Scarecrow do lead up to the next main villains. I still have no idea how they will out do themselves. All I want now is a longer story that doesn't rush you around the city and boss fights that are as unique as the Mr. Freeze one. And a Nightwing spinoff? Shut up and take my money and my first born child now! xD
you apparently opted out of getting the DLC Harley Quinn's Revenge, where there are hints of Project Cadmus, which is based just outside Metropolis, (an abandoned aqueduct facility). furthermore Cadmus is depicted as Task Force X in the comic books which involve the Suicide Squad which at the end of THIS game you also get a hint of, not to mention the one and only woman who voices Amanda Waller in the JLU series who is seen giving a file for Slade to sign himself over to work for her DOJ Squad.
If I were working on this game, I would of had Black Mask, Death-Stroke & Deadshot be the 3 main villains. The villains you encounter and see the most. Like in the 4:00 Min teaser trailer, where Deadshot and Death-stroke are both competing to kill Batman first, but NO! WB think that Joker has to be in a Batman game to make a good Batman game. Since a RUclipsr pointed out (Jeremy Jahns) that this is really the start of all things bad in Gotham it should be called Gotham Origins or something like that. If I were working with WB Montreal. I would of had DeadS and DeathS and Black Mask be the main villains, have NO Joker in the game at all. Add *BRAND* new gadgets. Change up the gameplay a bit, have more game modes in Multiplayer and change some of the weapons and what you can and can't do. I want each player to be even right from the start.
I like Arkham Asylum & Arkham City for different reasons. I love the darkness and the creepiness of Arkham Asylum but I love the open city of Arkham City.
This is not the start of everything bad in gotham! This is just the start of the Arkham series, this explains every villain's reasoning for hating batman, and being thrown into Arkham in the first place.
theres also a clear implication that it will involve Metropolis and Superman Vs. Batman ad Cadmus and Amanda Waller. to co-op with the movie thats coming out with Ben Aflac (insurance joke) as Batman. and as for the next game, as i mentioned, WB Games is rumored to be making a sequel (Chapter 2) to their Origins, so it is most definitely likely continuing from Origins.
the events of this game are 6 years before the events of arkham asylum, and it wasn't the first time that joker went to arkham in batman arkham asylum he said that "last time" he killed 6 men or something and that they also added a lot of new security.
they emphasized ONE, which in this game is misplaced, and misleading, and not co-existent with what was done by Rocksteady, just to cameo Dr. Harleen Quinzel. which still wasnt in Arkham Asylum (the facility) but in Blackgate Prison (according to WB Games) which renders what the interview tapes we had to find during Arkham Asylum (the game) in continuity of RS's Arkham series. which was reason that there is NO more Blackgate Prison as AA (the game) stated by Joker admitting to the fire.
Part 4 needs to be after joker dies I would say the best thing to go through a storyline is that harley tries to go back to her normal life but let's say joker was in debt to someone like idk a villain and goes to batman for help, let's go from there
it can be simplified as this, Batman could well be a vigilante who finally established himself all during the time where Superman had "vanished" if you remember Superman Returns. so for a "Chapter 2" basis of Origin (not Rocksteady's up-and-coming game in the series) it's still reasonable to establish Project Cadmus (which btw im NOT for the clone joker idea) as a research facility in metahuman experiments (considering the slew of super-villainy origins) in which Batman investigates/involves in.
OMG I think they should make the Joker sing in every Arkham game if possible.. And can I just say, Tory Baker's and Mark Hamill's voice doesn't seem to sound different from each other, not unless you try to be a critique.... :D
Well, it gets a little offish since you don't capitalize the start of your sentences, meaning if you replace a comma with a period, there's no indication that it isn't a new sentence unless it's assumed. Also, despite the fact that it would make for great product placement, that seems reasonable, but I wouldn't expect Superman, or even Metropolis to directly tie into the game beyond a possible reference or two. (This is elaborated further in that really long reply I didn't want to make.)
Blackgate was destroyed from a fire in the original Arkham Asylum. Granted, there's still could be many areas that haven't been destroyed, and it may even have been repaired by the time Arkham City was established, buuut I'm not sure if anything was confirmed in the games. Maybe it's fine though.

All I want now is a longer story that doesn't rush you around the city and boss fights that are as unique as the Mr. Freeze one. And a Nightwing spinoff? Shut up and take my money and my first born child now! xD
2 creepy song sung by the The Joker one in Arkham origins and one in Arkham City
It's a holiday bet
Wow Joker is singing again
you apparently opted out of getting the DLC Harley Quinn's Revenge, where there are hints of Project Cadmus, which is based just outside Metropolis, (an abandoned aqueduct facility). furthermore Cadmus is depicted as Task Force X in the comic books which involve the Suicide Squad which at the end of THIS game you also get a hint of, not to mention the one and only woman who voices Amanda Waller in the JLU series who is seen giving a file for Slade to sign himself over to work for her DOJ Squad.
The best Batman game of all time this masterpiece deserves remaster 🔥🔥❤️❤️💯
Where is arkham origins remater 25th october 2022
I'm agree with you ! This game is not the better of the Arkham games (for me Arkham City it's the better)
I think Joker still could've cropped up in some form in a side mission. Maybe a side mission to stop the red hood in Ace Chemicals?
theres also a clear implication that it will involve Metropolis and Superman Vs.
Hank Williams FTW!
Does anyone else really wish they'd done "Cold, Cold Heart" with a full-on big jazz band?
the events of this game are 6 years before the events of arkham asylum, and it wasn't the first time that joker went to arkham in batman arkham asylum
he said that "last time" he killed 6 men or something and that they also added a lot of new security.
02:04 Lead DLC designer. Hope this has a lot of story DLC, like Skyrim or Mass Effect 3 (correct if wrong).
WB Montreal should make a DLC explaining how Oracle got shot in the back by Joker like it said in her bio in Arkham City.
Just read the Killing Joke of Alan Moore and you'll have what you want ! ;)
or just play Arkham Knight :3
Amazing game !! Thanks
You know, whatever happened to Calendar Man at the beginning of the game? You'd imagine he'd be a side quest of sorts with it being Christmas and all
they emphasized ONE, which in this game is misplaced, and misleading, and not co-existent with what was done by Rocksteady, just to cameo Dr.
1. great vid keep it up batmanarkhamvids and 2. is this the first youtube vid ive seen where no one has gone 1st/2nd/3rd and so on
Batman orgins was awesome it had some emotions with bruce and alfred and cool things about jokers orgins as well
Only you can make this world seem right,
Only you can make the darkness bright.
We miss you mARK HAMill !
That was Troy Baker
5:25 a place like Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends
Mr. Herriman, Magneto, Quincy Sharp, and many more. Tom Kane is a legend.
Part 4 needs to be after joker dies
I would say the best thing to go through a storyline is that harley tries to go back to her normal life but let's say joker was in debt to someone like idk a villain and goes to batman for help, let's go from there
I feel like this game was an art project.
thank you
it can be simplified as this, Batman could well be a vigilante who finally established himself all during the time where Superman had "vanished" if you remember Superman Returns. so for a "Chapter 2" basis of Origin (not Rocksteady's up-and-coming game in the series) it's still reasonable to establish Project Cadmus (which btw im NOT for the clone joker idea) as a research facility in metahuman experiments (considering the slew of super-villainy origins) in which Batman investigates/involves in.
OMG I think they should make the Joker sing in every Arkham game if possible.. And can I just say, Tory Baker's and Mark Hamill's voice doesn't seem to sound different from each other, not unless you try to be a critique.... :D
You are the best !!!!!!
Batman mixed with carol of the bells? OH YES!
thanks!
what are you talking about? they didn't do away with the "multiple unknown origins" idea at all. in fact, they emphasized it.
Wow, they couldn't have chosen a better song for the credits!
That was the easiest payday for CCH Pounder (Amanda Waller's V.A. from JLU/Superman/Batman: Public Enemies) ever.
I thought about that once Harley Quinn's Revenge released, I saw a Cadmus poster and I realized they could just clone him!
You can see arkham asylum when your on penguins final offer ship but it won't show up on the map
Blackgate was destroyed from a fire in the original Arkham Asylum. Granted, there's still could be many areas that haven't been destroyed, and it may even have been repaired by the time Arkham City was established, buuut I'm not sure if anything was confirmed in the games. Maybe it's fine though.
