- After carrying out an oil change service and inspection on a 2018 fiesta st3 1.5 eco boost, we went for a little drive to see how the 250hp remap performs and yes its pretty impressive.
I always love seeing women who are real driving enthusiasts.
Never seen an ST3 ???? Two tone. Like it. What a nice car for a young girl/lady. Different times !!! We had Saxos and were very happy with them !!! Lovely alloy wheel design. She loves her car. Unmarked alloys. Perfect.
Great stuff Rhiannon, Tyler and Alan, very nice car👌👍🙏😎
The X-Type's floorpan is more closely related to that of a Mk1 Mondeo estate 4x4.
It was one of the first engineering jobs I was involved with !
thats good to know, cheers
Lovely little Fiesta!
Unusual with 4 doors!
That surface rust on the subframe etc usual for Ford. Waiting now for the MX5
It's disappointing TBH, needs a wire brush and some Dinitrol.
@@user-sf7kl9uh7k I'd never ever use Dinitrol. The worst rusted cars I've ever seen have all had badges in side windows "Protected with Dinitrol" and they've been insanely bad condition. Literally worse than same car without any protection. I do recommend undercoating, but Dinitrol seems to be absolute shit imo.
@@user-sf7kl9uh7k I was thinking the same myself. It needs treating before it gets too bad.
@@alananderson6812 Yeah, many mechanics think that stuff and other, maybe slightly inferior products like it are ineffective. I've found my subframes are still solid underneath two years after spraying it onto a wire brushed corroded surface.
5 doors 😝
Very nice car, with some nice performance mods. A modern day max power car!
Hi Alan 👋 Great video interesting can't wait to see what it's like on the spin 😀
Good afternoon Mr mondingo man 😊 That was a cool car 🚙 A little competition for Monica with Rhiannon now Alan lol 😆
Look at that Rust already !
RHIANNON IS SOO BEAUTIFULL & SOO PRETTY
Alan great blog as usual 👊🇬🇧❤
What people don't notice about this one is the Scottish Saltire on the front. I thought that was why Alan had the synth pipes at the beginning.
Love the shot of her foot on the pedal
Wow, what a great car. Nice to see Rhiannon - she is so enthusiastic and obviously loves the car and is looking after it well. Alan, will we be seeing her and her Fiesta at the TCH show in a couple of weeks?
Oil leaks and rust is looking after it well is it ! 🙄
My favorite model ford fiesta st
Bet she's upped your views!
I love the Fiesta ST
😀
Lovely headlights 👍
Nice little fiesta ST mk8...
Really cute girl as well 😊
Sensible driver 👍🏾
Nice little sporty fiesta. That old jag should have been scrapped pile of crap lol
I was wondering that the engine job for that old jag must be like two times the value of working car. I'd scrap that :)
Alan you don’t have to cut chassis to get to captive nut lift carpet & sound deadening you can see nut just tin snip strips of metal in floor out the way refit after
Lovely car but there's more light rust underneath than on my 1997 Peugeot 306 turbo diesel. Mind you, I have undersealed it myself five times since I bought it new. Every five years or so with Hammerite with added waxoyl keeps the old tinworm at bay, but any product is better than nothing. This young lady should ask you to do it for her, pronto, especially if she wants to keep the car longterm.
Regards from Burry Port, 15 miles west of Swansea, where men are men and sheep are n n n nervous. There've I've saved others the bother !
Nice little motor, look forward to the mx5.
Nice car nice little filly for the lad Alan 😂, easier oil filter change then the MK4 Mondeo
METHINKS the parents were fleetwood mac fans after naming her rhiannon ?
Oil filler cap 5W-30 @10:03
Oops!
1.5 ECOBOOST uses 5W20E 6L not 5W30
@@doganakkoc8764this one says 5w-30 on the oil filter cap @10:03 i think you will find on older 1.5l ecoboost engines they fitted a 4.8l oil pan sump then later on they fitted a larger oil pan on later 1.5 ecoboost to 6 litres and change the
Oil viscosity to 5W-20 to help with oil consumption between service
You will be surprised how many people fit slotted/drilled disc the wrong way. When fitted the slot at the top of the disc should point to the back of the car.
Hi! Is it stock exhaust? The car is after remap so I am not sure it sounds the same like before.
it is the standard exhaust but there is a switch on the dash which alters the exhaust note
Small point. Autodata said use 5w 20 oil and that's what you out in, but the oil cap clearly stated 5w 30?!? Plus side though... really nice car with a thorough check and service.
Hey Alan, is this girl replacing Monica? I miss her already..
I bet that aftermarket battery clamp is worth at least 20bhp. Had a customer with a 1.5 ecoboom Kuga which he remapped. Did not end well - engine destroyed at 37k.
I bet its the 4 cilinder version those were crap
ecoboosts are horrible engines for reliability no matter what type i guess
you dont see many as they all get nicked. nice car
The mk8 is much harder to steal
Nice Car Rhianon
Nice car and a very pretty young lady!
I had a wet belt on my transit and I didn't know. When it broke, I had to get a new engine.
great car
Sweet lady Rhiannon ❤
A girl with great taste (I traded my ND 1.5 for a ST 1.5)😊
The bottom ball joints are the main failure point of the wish bones very poor quality on them
Off track comment, but have you ever changed the gauze filter in a turbo oil feed pipe? Should they be changed at certain miles?
Thin oil filter seal can take nore pressure withiut poping out
They're the best headlights the other ones are crap. The indicators sweep as well. I had one in silver fox with a stage 1 revo tune 260bhp running 99ron.
260 revo stage one 😂😂😂😂 the focus ST250 only makes 276 revo stage 1 ffs 🤦♂️ 😂
Alan, I live in Mauritius and I am wondering if you could advise me on a particular website when i can buy a rear lamp for a mondeo 4.5. thank you.
Last few days I am getting all the information I can gather to undercoat my Ford Mondeo mk4 and protect it against further corrosion. It is a 2010 Mondeo pre facelift and I want to keep it as long as the engine runs, so I HAVE to do it! I am going to do that this month, before the winter season starts, should have done that years ago. Looking at this 2018 Fiesta just makes me wonder. Do all the car makers want to bullshit their customers? Why is it so damn hard to coat all the important parts under the car in a proper way, so it doesnt corrode right the moment the car leaves the dealer. I am so annoyed by all this crap. I suggest that lady thinks about proper undercoating her car. Because this keeps the value of the car up and she can drive it longer and have less worries driving it in winter with all the snow-salt-rain. Especially England, where it rains a lot. This car looks like a car that is 10 years old on some parts (underneath).
Had mk3/4/5 mondeos and run most of them up to the 200k mile mark, none have ever had anything apart from serviceable items done, my mother lives in cumbria, and the underside of her mk4 has nothing but normal weathering, which you can hit with a steam cleaner and wipe over with a rag, and it will come off....if you touch the underside in underseal you stand a chance of a stone damaging the outer layer then moisture getting in between the sealant and bodywork and that's when rot starts. Your best off bunging waxoil or bilt hamber through the cavities if you wish to add some protection to the factory body protection, We also have a 37 year old 120k mile 4x4 sierra that the factory paint is still visible underside....that's only ever had waxoil In the sills and doors and chassis rails/rear 1/4 etc
I use Bilt Hamber Dynax. S50 for in the cavities and UC for the underside. you only need a thin coat (about 2 thousands of an inch). I've seen alot of adverts for Lanoguard but, I don't have any experience of it.
@alananderson6812 I've heard a lot of good reports about bilt hamber. Next time we go over the sierra we will have to use that instead
Hmmm. My 2008 mk4 with 625tkm's in is surprisingly good condition below. It's the wheel arches and such that are getting bad quite fast. Under, not so much.
@@jothain 2008 and 625tkm? I dont beleive it a bit. I am sure your whole car is rotting underneath and I am sure your whole exhaust is rotting away ;) And check the mian frame and the bolts. They love to rot from inside and you wont get them out without destroying something.
ecoBOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
Is the oil pump chain driven because I think the later 1.0 ecoboost use a chain but the oil pump is still driven by a belt
oh god why so much rust? Is that due to salt on the road?
Very nice, however the whole Wet Belt nonsense has ended any interest I had in Ford.
Mk8 ST has a timing chain. Wet belt is used on the 1.0 l ecoboost engine
Hello alan
I am using ford mondeo 2016, The powertrain signal turns on and engine cut off hard acceleration while driving. I have did all the service also. Its very dangerous for driving especially in motorways. Do u have any idea about this issue?
I got mine a couple weeks back it feels slow now though top end
5:37 just CAT ? 5:44 there's hoses going in ..SO?!?
So it cost 10X(my personal guess)more. and you know it from Diesel cars as DPF, but in this its BPF or just PF(sorry dont know its just Hiukkasloukku in here).
Wondering how the tune has dealed with it and if its out now dos she know...
8:34 YES 8:45Thank god! The belt has ~50tkm life and still you need to check oil pickup under the oil pan from the belt parts as they didn't know fluid allways wins......
Pure envy! 16 degrees Celsius for summerr. That's why all cars in the U.K. are faster cuz of all the cold air it gets, as opposed to the flippin' 36 degrees C we have here for summer, plus 70-80 percent humidity
i think she may have "adaptive headlights" on the fiesta without realising ?
Need a back box delete or full cat back exhaust system
not a thing wrong with that ford fiesta ST that will pass the MOT
who is this new girl who is catching all the attention . Is she Mr Alan''s daughter, girlfriend, daughter in law?
Eco Boom!
Its not 4.8 Liter its 6.0L with oil filter thats waaay to low !
Bit random but how have the bendpak ramps lasted? Looking to change soon and there is a lot of choice out there, cheers.
Are you using the exol lubricants oil for the mondeos alan?
hi dave, yes we are, its cheaper than castrol
@@alan4x i remember recommending it on a previous video or livestream 👍 you'll have to do a video on it 😉
@@alan4xAlan! Check the comments further up. The oil cap mentioned 30 grade not 20
If you have the 2018 model, it will use 4.75 liters of oil. The 2019 version needs 6,08 liters of oil...
Luckily I looked it up because I though 5 liter was enough...
True!! I got 2020model i put always 6liters
Is that like a grand in labour fit £350 donkey Alan
lol, , that jag was sold a while back with warranty, luckily when we said he should have checked his oil level he agreed to paying 1k towards the cost🤣
Don't get that many so good !!! many start aggravation and demands full recourse. !!! Good one @@alan4x
Quite excessive corrosion for 30k miles, country with no snow and 2018 year car
I agree, though it’s a five year old Ford and we salt our roads excessively here in the UK, at the merest hint of frost. It’s pathetic. We do get snow in some places though!
I have Fiesta Mk7 2010 and the alloy wheels often buckle on inside rim going over UK potholes! It’s a common fault on Ford 8 spoke alloys!
another "unintentional joke from alan, ..............OH, you`ve got air conditioning, very cool" 🙄🙄🙄🙄
...Is she available for marriage and stuff...?!?
She seems like the lady every car guy could happily spend time with!
Ah ecoboom
Different engine not as bad as mk1 eco boost
cheers for the info@@johncoldwell340
I'm not a fan of induction.
Does it really make sense to do that kind of engine job for that Jaguar? I mean it's not the most exotic car and pretty old. Must be one really expensive swap job for something like that.
Your comment literally makes no sense
@@user-sf7kl9uh7k I would trash that :)
it wouldn't be economic at normal uk garage rates but if its their own car and are doing it at cost price then maybe
@@uniformedhunk Well that could be the case.
It's a scrapper
Nice cars, but really no "soul" compared to the XR2's and the Fiesta RS turbo's.
You need to drive one, they are very old skool in the way they perform
That jag should have been scraped
Does that have belt driven oil pump? 😂
Yes how dumb is that why don’t they just make both the oil pump and timing gear all chain driven
Still have a wet belt for the Oil pump
VERY disappointed alan......... i thought YOU was going to jump in the driver`s seat and give it SOME ......😮😮😮😮😮😮
Be closer to 230bhp with just a stage 1 remap and that’s with someone with proper knowledge of what they are doing with the tolerances. So called tuners that just flash a generic map onto the cars are usually the ones who overstate the figures and have no idea what they are doing or talking about.
You clearly know very little about modern ecus
@@keljon32 I’ve been performance tuning cars for 18 years, writing my own custom maps onto individual vehicles for the last 9. But please tell more how I haven’t got a clue what I am talking about.
@@SM0KE_0RIG1NAL most of the generic stage 1 maps for these cars make 250bhp, usually a little more with bolt ons. Nothing wrong with a generic map if its well written. (APR, Revo, Collins, Peron, Dreamscience, MAXD are all generic remaps) Modern ECU's have lots of safety features and wide band O2 sensors so tuning is not the static set of lookup tables it used to be.
It’s got far to many doors for a st a real st is only made in 3 dr
250 bhp stage 1 😂😂😂😂
