Nice to finally have some Infection maps that aren't the vanilla dev maps. They just arent designed for Infection in mind so these new Forge maps are so so so much better.
Man I'm disappointed they removed the survive the undead playlist..... that shit was an xp farm that was also fun unlike the firefight in this game right now...

Hey look at the bright side, they removed Ranked snipers, a gametype that is kind of broken with Infinite's crappy spawn system/maps, and replaced it with swat, a gametpe that is COMPLETELY broken in Infinite's crappy maps.

I know this horse has been beaten to death but I’m really sad we’re probably not getting the double barrel shotgun, it would go so well with infection in particular. I always hated the bulldog, it’s the worst shotgun in halo history imo.

I loaded into a match, maybe my 2nd or 3rd one in the mode, on rat's nest, and who do I see on the opposite squad? mint fucking blitz. I absolutely freaked out, and it was so much fun trying (and failing) to get a 1-up on you. a peak halo memory

Its hard to get excited for an update thats literally just rebalancing a gamemode to be more in line with every other iteration of the game mode. I don't know what it is with 343 or now Halo studios and trying to reinvent the wheel with everything. The bulldog is a terrible infection weapon id rather have the heatwave because at least it can be reloaded one round at a time and has an alternate fire mode. Alpha infected should be slightly faster than non starting infected as thats how it worked in halo reach
i never felt like the zombies were OP. i always felt like threat sensors ruined it and no physics based barricades spread around the map made things too stale. remember in old halo pushing boxes into doorways for cover and protection
I played one infection match. Started as a zombie with two other players. We(I) were only able to infect one survivor by the end of the round. All the survivors were in corners and I didn't have time to get used to the new map.

I wish I matched with more nice social people... I rarely hear anyone on their mic, and when they do it's usually just one guy critiquing the team and griping about his "trash team" in a social mode. It's sad :(
They’re wild for replacing a new, fast paced, thrilling, most XP gaining rotational game mode with this so-so infection refresh. Major props to the forgers for these fresh hot maps, you guys are the backbone of this game, but idk if infection is it man, especially compared to survive the undead.

Those guys talking remind me of when we first started playing Halo in 2005. The joy and excitement to get on everyday to do whatever with my friends was something else. I probably will never feel it again but oh well
With all the pleas for bringing back the pump-action shotgun just for the sake of Infection, I'd be surprised that they didn't explore the idea of just making a modified Bulldog to emulate it. Surely something could be done with giga buffing its damage, increasing its spread, and giving it 1 round per magazine but a super fast reload speed to emulate the pump-action. It'd be janky maybe, but surely something could be done. Maybe a modded sidekick, too, with less bullets per magazine. I think Halo Infinite's more spammy, more range-oriented weapons (compared to H3/Reach) might be part of the problem with the survivors vs zombies balancing.
Gonna be honest, we know they have fine enough weapon models with animations for them, and they know how to add new stuff to the game. So by this point the reason they haven't added anymore sandbox stuff must be because someone said they couldn't, and put them on another project. Wish they'd just team up with some dedicated fan team and just rebuild it all, or let them fix it.
The last time I was able to play multiplayer in Halo was back in Halo 5 because I moved to an area with only satellite internet so I can't play Matchmaking or Co-Op Halo anymore. And I remember it was rare to find people using their headsets anymore. I remember playing a match of SWAT trying to use callouts of enemy locations for my teammates and literally had teammates telling me to shut the fuck up because I was using callouts for the enemy locations. It made me come to love the feature where in Halo 5, Spartans would autonomously give callouts like "Enemy in Blue Bend" or "Enemy Sniper, heads up!" I remember hearing people absolutely shitting on that feature but I loved it because the game was giving me more teammate callouts than my actual teammates were.
Mint, you schooled me in a king of the hill match a few months ago. I had no idea it was you until I checked score half way through because you where cheesing the invisibility on kusini bay. I think about that match all the time, it really made me a better player on that map. Thank you!

Glad to see the forgers gave Unreal Tournament some love with 'Plunderland' Is almost an exact remake of 'Underland' from UT4, but with some extras, and I'm amazed how good it looks It really can't be understated how good we've gotten Forge - despite all Infinite's shortcomings Makes me look forward to the future of Halo, and what Forge could look like as more resources are added to it

I was able to get first place for multiple infection rounds in a row by finding a hard to get to spot on the map and staying there…infected need to be able to jump higher and run faster
I love Halo but I hate playing live service games. It's just that simple. I didn't want it at launch, I don't want it now. Maybe one day they'll make something new I want but for now I'm going to stick with MCC or other games.

Okay, not sure if this would work in matchmaking-wise but it be cool if there was an infection game type that featured objectives. Trying to survive while completing objectives would be interesting
Why should I keep playing just to get spartan points, for items I already own? I’ve beaten all the main battlepasses, timed passes, and half the 30 tier passes. There’s no more maps, vehicles or weapons ever coming. There is nothing left for me, but the ugly armour sets I’ll never wear drip fed over 3 years.
I think we all really appreciate MintBlitz carrying the Halo franchise. I played a game of Halo 3 with my friend one night and it was so much fun, slow paced but chaotic, I figured out finally how to actually use weapons in Halo 3 cuz I was terrible, and I’ve just been in love with not only Halo but games since. Started going for funny trick shots, playing aggressive like I did before but doing it in a way that’s fun and not overwhelmingly sweaty. If anyone sees my gameplay I’m just a dude playing the game on a Xbox high as balls, and I be cooking lobbies or at least doing a lot better than most. Im deadass too cuz you can go look. But Halo is so much fun, the sandbox, the mechanics, Halo 3 is the best one🌝🙏 lol but they all have something at least unique about them. Infinite is fun to me because I learned how to move around the map and use momentum to rush people, I certainly get cooked a lot lol but I’ve found that I’m having FUN again.
I feel like halo should simultaneously be the most fun game to play casually with friends but also be the one of the best games to sweat it out in ranked. When all playlists are essentially ranked there's no reason to play either, halo is still sipping the call of duty tea a decade later.
I really do want to know whose idea it was for the antisocial features of this game? Was it Microsoft telling 343 to restrict them so people's precious little feelings don't get hurt. Or was it 343's design just because the games a spaghetti code mess and they couldn't figure it out?
I mean, it's kind of like that even on MCC. It was definitely like that for Halo 5. Most other games are the same way. It's about trying to "discourage toxicity" in matches. No joke. It's been an industry-wide push for the last ten years. They don't want to risk some people getting offended by bad words.
I think it's the longing. Damage to a person when there lunging or grappling you seems reduced. Have you ever considered that or looked at that? This was especially true when I'd try to kill a sword lunging no matter the weapon
What I find interesting about gaming is that no matter where I look, not a single person has ever defended skill based matchmaking in social games. Why does it keep coming back when everyone is so vocal about its annoyance?
Did they bring back the BtB Infection mode? That was fun as hell aside from the few weird areas of the maps survivors could camp in. There were some awesome moments of driving a razor back at top speed across the map as the last survivor as a flood of infected follow me, slowly gaining on me and im praying i survive the last few seconds.
I jumped into one game of btb after not playing for a while, went 16-2, then had all my matchmaking times skyrocket to 3 minutes+. I want to come back to this game so badly, but it just feels so bad.
I kinda feel like they should have left the base zombies mode as it was(with scoring adjustments) then added 2 new versions we would have 3 modes. That being said it took way to long for this and still a lack of variation. I hate repeating myself but where the hell is speed demons where is creeping death.
Yo Mint Blitz I picked up infection after a while (I stopped playing because I always lost due to me being the Alpha Zombie twice) and I matched with Unyshek it was really fun but really sweaty.
NO MOTION TRACKER IN INFECTION! NEVER! There could be so much more suspense and tension and it’s the simplest thing to make it so. The infected are no longer fast enough to beat the motion tracker
I always thought the infected were too easy to kill since season 4 the speed never seemed to be a problem, and the active camo never mattered if you use the sensor
343 successfully disappointing us since day one of existing And all the endless customization they talked about is funnily enough in the free Master Chief collection for free mainly in Halo 3 customization
Doesn’t help that energy sword had its quick melee taken away. You can’t duel anymore either cause of this. It’s just whoever has the most health wins.
Halo infinite will be the first mainline Halo game since Halo 1 to not have the gauss warthog. I shouldn’t be as shocked as I am to realize this, that despite it being in the game’s files it will never be added in the game’s lifecycle.
“I get that we’re not going to see that gun” And that sentence right there sums up the problem in one singular statement…. Why? Why will we not see that gun? Because the team of 343 that made this game was built on literal shit. They don’t care about the fan base and don’t care about the series. They wanted it to be something halo was never meant to be. Now that being said, I do have hope for the newer things coming but this may genuinely be the last opportunity they have to bring me back to halo. I miss what halo WAS. I know things need to progress and grow but not the way 343 did it.
Basically if you release a game early, it dies off. Thats what happened to infinite. Even if a year or 2 later it goes from a 7 to a solid 9, its to late the damage is done
The Project Cartographer update where you play as skeletons was more interesting imo. If this game didnt have to worry about locking shit behind a paywall they could do cool shit like that too but noooo we get a mediocre set of armor and not enough spartan points to buy anything meaningful

I joined a Husky Raid match with this guy on the opposing team. He absolutely railed us and captured all 3 within like a minute lol
The repulsor would be a much better piece of equipment against sword-wielding enemies.

The fast zombies mode is called Speed Demons and it actually originates back to Halo 3 where you would drive circles around Sandtrap with warthogs!

he lives in australia so his ping is consistently at 180-240. your connection is probably better to the servers unless you're in australia as well
This is why they should have kept player collision, ability to stand on each other’s head and melee boost.

Okay, not sure if this would work in matchmaking-wise but it be cool if there was an infection game type that featured objectives. Trying to survive while completing objectives would be interesting

Why should I keep playing just to get spartan points, for items I already own?
I’ve beaten all the main battlepasses, timed passes, and half the 30 tier passes.
There’s no more maps, vehicles or weapons ever coming.
There is nothing left for me, but the ugly armour sets I’ll never wear drip fed over 3 years.
Nono clearly more forge maps is what you need

I think we all really appreciate MintBlitz carrying the Halo franchise. I played a game of Halo 3 with my friend one night and it was so much fun, slow paced but chaotic, I figured out finally how to actually use weapons in Halo 3 cuz I was terrible, and I’ve just been in love with not only Halo but games since. Started going for funny trick shots, playing aggressive like I did before but doing it in a way that’s fun and not overwhelmingly sweaty. If anyone sees my gameplay I’m just a dude playing the game on a Xbox high as balls, and I be cooking lobbies or at least doing a lot better than most. Im deadass too cuz you can go look. But Halo is so much fun, the sandbox, the mechanics, Halo 3 is the best one🌝🙏 lol but they all have something at least unique about them. Infinite is fun to me because I learned how to move around the map and use momentum to rush people, I certainly get cooked a lot lol but I’ve found that I’m having FUN again.
I feel like halo should simultaneously be the most fun game to play casually with friends but also be the one of the best games to sweat it out in ranked. When all playlists are essentially ranked there's no reason to play either, halo is still sipping the call of duty tea a decade later.

Was it Microsoft telling 343 to restrict them so people's precious little feelings don't get hurt.
Or was it 343's design just because the games a spaghetti code mess and they couldn't figure it out?
I mean, it's kind of like that even on MCC. It was definitely like that for Halo 5. Most other games are the same way. It's about trying to "discourage toxicity" in matches. No joke. It's been an industry-wide push for the last ten years. They don't want to risk some people getting offended by bad words.

I think it's the longing. Damage to a person when there lunging or grappling you seems reduced. Have you ever considered that or looked at that? This was especially true when I'd try to kill a sword lunging no matter the weapon

What I find interesting about gaming is that no matter where I look, not a single person has ever defended skill based matchmaking in social games. Why does it keep coming back when everyone is so vocal about its annoyance?
The new weapon coating “heat stress” in the exchange is kinda pricey but looks great.
Did they bring back the BtB Infection mode? That was fun as hell aside from the few weird areas of the maps survivors could camp in. There were some awesome moments of driving a razor back at top speed across the map as the last survivor as a flood of infected follow me, slowly gaining on me and im praying i survive the last few seconds.
I jumped into one game of btb after not playing for a while, went 16-2, then had all my matchmaking times skyrocket to 3 minutes+. I want to come back to this game so badly, but it just feels so bad.
I kinda feel like they should have left the base zombies mode as it was(with scoring adjustments) then added 2 new versions we would have 3 modes. That being said it took way to long for this and still a lack of variation. I hate repeating myself but where the hell is speed demons where is creeping death.
Yo Mint Blitz I picked up infection after a while (I stopped playing because I always lost due to me being the Alpha Zombie twice) and I matched with Unyshek it was really fun but really sweaty.
NO MOTION TRACKER IN INFECTION! NEVER! There could be so much more suspense and tension and it’s the simplest thing to make it so. The infected are no longer fast enough to beat the motion tracker
I always thought the infected were too easy to kill since season 4 the speed never seemed to be a problem, and the active camo never mattered if you use the sensor

I just want Survive the Undead to come back, it was barely in the game for more than a week. The xp career grind was great in that mode.

Said it from the beginning: infection is for nostalgia, not for enjoyment. It doesn’t bring anyone in and never has.
Doesn’t help that energy sword had its quick melee taken away. You can’t duel anymore either cause of this. It’s just whoever has the most health wins.

Halo infinite will be the first mainline Halo game since Halo 1 to not have the gauss warthog. I shouldn’t be as shocked as I am to realize this, that despite it being in the game’s files it will never be added in the game’s lifecycle.

And that sentence right there sums up the problem in one singular statement…. Why? Why will we not see that gun? Because the team of 343 that made this game was built on literal shit. They don’t care about the fan base and don’t care about the series. They wanted it to be something halo was never meant to be.
Now that being said, I do have hope for the newer things coming but this may genuinely be the last opportunity they have to bring me back to halo. I miss what halo WAS. I know things need to progress and grow but not the way 343 did it.
Basically if you release a game early, it dies off. Thats what happened to infinite. Even if a year or 2 later it goes from a 7 to a solid 9, its to late the damage is done

The Project Cartographer update where you play as skeletons was more interesting imo. If this game didnt have to worry about locking shit behind a paywall they could do cool shit like that too but noooo we get a mediocre set of armor and not enough spartan points to buy anything meaningful

BTB infection was great. Most times infected would win, but if a spartan found high ground early game? bring it back 34- I mean, halo studios
