Will the salt air and moisture damage all of that wood trim everywhere? Incredible looking boat. You get what you pay for. When you customize anything like this down to finishing the insides of the cabinets you don’t care about money
Yes. It will bleach it out, dry it out and start cracking the wood as the top part is cooked and the oils from below dry up. While this boat is exceptionally gorgeous, maintenance on it is an absolute pain. Revarnish and repair work will always need to be carried out. There is a reason most boats are made of GRP. They hold up well, have the ability to absorb flex better, maintenance is easier, and you can repair the boat easier. Something like this boat gets damaged, you know how expensive it will be to repair it with the custom this and custom that? Outrageously expensive. Having crewed fishing yachts in my younger years, you could always tell the serious seasoned owners and the ones that wanted a showpiece boat to do some occasional fishing. Experienced guys had no teak decks or cap rails, had no plush carpeting anywhere, and they always had the boat laid out in a logical manner so that the blood, guts, scales, scuffs, chips and dings could be taken care of. That outside wood will need to be sanded, oiled, given about 25 coats of varnish and probably ceramic coating every 5 years or so. And again, if something gets damaged...pricey.
