I happen to know Paul of Paul Mann boats.He was a mate years ago on my Dad’s 54ft Buddy Davis boat that was built in NC.He is a friend and I have watched how he started and progressed throughout the years.He has a passion for building these boat’s.He has incredible craftsman and is always trying to find new innovations.Custom is how you get a boat like this.The area where this boat was built has a history of custom sport fish builds and Paul Mann is in my opinion the best.

They fish hard and in videos you'll that boat knew deep in water backing down in tournaments. They just won the sailfish tournament in palm beach and have many wins with that boat.
I was a TIG welder and those aluminum welds on that tower looked exceptional. That was what I did as an engineer, no screwing around, not just look good, but as strong as the pipe and tubes. I'd bet most of those welds are stronger than the pipe. Bet they used Schedule 80, 1/4" wall thick throughout and main load bearers would be $100 3/8th pipe, 5053 aluminum that has titanium mix alloy and not just 6061 T6 for the steps.
You didn't show the most important part of the vessel. The Engine Room. Only mentioned that it's powered by Cat C-32. Everybody under estimate this section.
Ernie is cool. I thought he brought a great energy -- and yes: linear is BETTER. My only criticism of boat: i like portholes in staterooms for fresh air. Beautiful boat on every level, though.

Overall, I love it, but the master cabin layout sucks. Move the bathroom door, put the TV at the foot of the bed and swap out that hanging locker for a dresser.
Absolutely fabulous.The only change I would make, round off marble table and counter tops in the galley, like in the Staterooms. Buy know means is this a dig guys/gals. just something that caught my attention.

So well thought out. So beautiful... and fast, too! Lotta boat. One complaint: The square (rectangular) sinks. Way too hard to keep the corners clean. Lose those, and you are approaching perfection in that class.
The boat is 61 feet long and probably has more living space than a lot of people in the United States, And somehow you think the sinks are going to be hard to keep clean! I’m going to go out on a limb here and say you have never owned a boat before!

Rain showers, cupboards rising in galley and matching grain in woods is old news really! The furniture in salon is kind of cheap and its very very plain! I totally do not agree with some of the comments here. This boat was built for a purpose and to its customers taste and is built very well. The volume is really large for the length. The woodwork is up to the level of some famous European brands here. I can say I am impressed by the shipyard and that it is from the Carolinas surprised me as a foreigner.
Then you don't know boat building, or at least custom fishing boat building...The finest boats, the highest quality fishing boats are made in North Carolina, OBX to be exact (Outer Banks for you foreigners). Mann, Spencer, Jarrett Bay, Bayliss, literally dozens of the highest end. And until you actually are on one of these sleds, you won't appreciate the attention to detail. The wiring, the location of the controls, engine rooms finished like a hospital. They are fishing machines at the finest. From 45 to 90', nothing handles, rides, like a boat born in OBX. Carolina flair, you want to be in one in 15' seas, down swell, at 30 knots not spilling a drop.

Will the salt air and moisture damage all of that wood trim everywhere? Incredible looking boat. You get what you pay for. When you customize anything like this down to finishing the insides of the cabinets you don’t care about money
Yes. It will bleach it out, dry it out and start cracking the wood as the top part is cooked and the oils from below dry up. While this boat is exceptionally gorgeous, maintenance on it is an absolute pain. Revarnish and repair work will always need to be carried out. There is a reason most boats are made of GRP. They hold up well, have the ability to absorb flex better, maintenance is easier, and you can repair the boat easier. Something like this boat gets damaged, you know how expensive it will be to repair it with the custom this and custom that? Outrageously expensive. Having crewed fishing yachts in my younger years, you could always tell the serious seasoned owners and the ones that wanted a showpiece boat to do some occasional fishing. Experienced guys had no teak decks or cap rails, had no plush carpeting anywhere, and they always had the boat laid out in a logical manner so that the blood, guts, scales, scuffs, chips and dings could be taken care of. That outside wood will need to be sanded, oiled, given about 25 coats of varnish and probably ceramic coating every 5 years or so. And again, if something gets damaged...pricey.

Too bad Mann had to retire, he made great boats. But I wouldn't get a mediocre, mass produced Whaler as a tender. Only people ignorant about boat building, rigging, and maintenence think Whalers are anything but a mid quality boat with a recognizable name.

Yes. It will bleach it out, dry it out and start cracking the wood as the top part is cooked and the oils from below dry up. While this boat is exceptionally gorgeous, maintenance on it is an absolute pain. Revarnish and repair work will always need to be carried out. There is a reason most boats are made of GRP. They hold up well, have the ability to absorb flex better, maintenance is easier, and you can repair the boat easier. Something like this boat gets damaged, you know how expensive it will be to repair it with the custom this and custom that? Outrageously expensive. Having crewed fishing yachts in my younger years, you could always tell the serious seasoned owners and the ones that wanted a showpiece boat to do some occasional fishing. Experienced guys had no teak decks or cap rails, had no plush carpeting anywhere, and they always had the boat laid out in a logical manner so that the blood, guts, scales, scuffs, chips and dings could be taken care of. That outside wood will need to be sanded, oiled, given about 25 coats of varnish and probably ceramic coating every 5 years or so. And again, if something gets damaged...pricey.

satellite like dish or direct tv, if you ever see a big dome on top of the boat that is what t hey have.
