    The College Board just changed the requirements for the DBQ and LEQ in APUSH, AP World, and AP Euro. The changes are pretty significant, most notably way more options for earning the complexity point.

      If it makes you feel better, my teacher is still having us do it the old way just in case they get harsher for the easier details (I’m lucky to have an AP world teacher who used to grade them, so we get all the fine details)

      Its possible that the standards for a 5 also got higher as a result of this change. The cut off for a 5 is decided based on how university students did on the exam, and if most of them are getting 1 or 2 extra points on the DBQ, then the total amount of points you need to score a 5 also increases.

    • @benjaminly4104
      @benjaminly4104 9 месяцев назад +2

      @@omarg2079 Yeah, they'll probably make the grading curve harder to get a 5, so while it is easier to pass, you'll have to make less mistakes than before to get a 5.

    This is great news... because I was considering quitting to teach APUSH and focus on teaching at the college (dual enrollment) and Cambridge US History classes instead... They should fire the person/people who did the APUSH DBQ in 2023 for the eastern time students... My AP World students had an 86% passing rate versus my APUSH having a 17% passing rate (the lowest I have ever seen in my career of 20+ years).. and I did the SAME exact drills and practices (in fact, I even met after school with APUSH kids and not with WHAP kids)... something isn't right with the fiasco DBQ question from last year. My students worked so hard and I felt like I failed them... but no, the APUSH test creators and their rigid standards is what failed us. So much work, and so little reward for students and teachers.

    Great change. The complexity point might be the worst and most confusing point ever out of all the AP exams. Whoever came up with it should be fired . The other changes make the dbq too easy imo but whatever the complexity change alone makes this really good

However, I feel like this is an extreme change, and it's an example of America getting dumber...Maybe I'm extrapolating, but that is what it feels like.
