  • Hello all! Thanks for watching. I know this is a total 180º from what we usually listen to on my channel, but I just felt compelled to share it with you all. One of my best friends, Peyton, and I were on the phone for well over an hour sharing music with each other (A TOTAL LOVE LANGUAGE) and she suggested this song. Addiction is something that hits close for me, and she was so brave and strong to share her experience with loss with us as well.
Thank you, Peyton, for being my sister from another mister. I seriously can not believe how blessed I am in this life to know you, and create vulnerable moments with you. Nobody except for you and my sister can get me there. I love you!!!
Below you will find my LinkTree, where it has every platform that I'm on.
Follow my socials to stay in the loop! Thanks again for watching, if you want to see more content then be sure to subscribe so you don't miss an effing BEAT! linktr.ee/itsi...

You should not be afraid to shed tears because ALL People CRY and dont forget that your tears are beautiful and they are precious, like diamonds dripping from your eyes down your cheeks.

Father passed away and my mom relapsed afterwards. She left me for my “stepfather” and I haven’t seen her since. Only texting here and there which just lets me know she’s alive. I find solace in this song and it resonates with me. I pray for all of you that have a similar story and can relate to this song. I love y’all and keep your head up. It does get better ❤️‍🩹

This is/was very real to NF. His parents split. His father was an alcoholic who reportedly got his act together after several years. How mother was an addict. She had a series of boyfriends, at least one of whom physically abused Nate (NF). NF took to recording music as an emotional/psychological outlet. Within a year or so after his HS graduation, near his 19th birthday, his mother OD'd; I am unclear whether the OD was accidental or deliberate. To me it is important that NF expresses both the anger and the love he still felt for his mother. He has since said that he felt he was unfair to her in this song, but to me, he was still a kid and he was angry and grieving, so the rage is appropriate.
You should listen to Mama from the new album. It is a sequel of sorts, written after he has gained some perspective.
More power to you in your sobriety. 37 years here - it can be done, one day at a time.

That “WHY!!!???” at the end of the last verse is the most brutally honest lyric ever.

NF’s music is very healing. He helps you look inward to fix the things that broke you so you can grow.
Great reaction to NF. Thank you for sharing it!

Yeah, my parents weren't there for my kids after they threw me away at 16. My dad was stuck in the pills, my mom in the booze and boyfriends over her children. We were given an alarm clock at 6 and had to cook hot cereal for breakfast get myself up and off to the bus stop and I'd come in from school and she'd point to the kitchen and say, "get in there and do the dishes" while she laid on the sofa watching tv. We'd go hungry for up to 3 ½ days because the booze was more important. I was a g gifted student who had already graduated high school and was signing up for college and had a job at 16 so i was homeless for awhile after i got kicked out. Since i had no idea how a normal family worked i struggled with fear I'd screw up my own kids but, i broke the cycle and my kids are happy, healthy and never experienced SA, abuse, or neglect. My son calls and talks for up to 3 hours at a time. I'm glad i have that with my son as i never had it with my family

Wow…you both opened up and your honesty is so freaking powerful and helpful to hear. Thank you so much 🥹. I feel like I need to pay you for a therapy session. My only brother took his drugs for the last time this April. We fought so hard for him but now he’s gone forever. I’m so glad you both have found hope and healing and you’re willing to share your journey ❤️‍🩹

If you need some resolution to this song then you NEED to listen to his newest song called "Mama" it'll make you cry but they will be different tears! Please react to it! After anyone Reacts to how could you leave us, I can't wait for them to react to "mama". It glues it all together.
