The entire area around Moab, Canyon Lands, Arches and on down to Zion NP and Grand Canyon is amazing. We’ve been going for 10 yrs and never tire of seeing the scenery. Even seeing some of the same trails is always enjoyable. The best ways to see it is off road vehicles or hiking.
You're looking down at Shafer Trail. "Thelma & Louise Point" is down there to the left a bit. Potash Road is back to the east some. Further west, the trail comes to an intersection with White Rim Trail. White Rim heads south and goes around the base of the southern tip of Island in the Sky. White Rim goes all the way around Island in the Sky and meets up with Mineral Bottom Trail (along the Green River) where you ascend the switchbacks back to the plateau. We were just there in June and did Hell's Revenge, Fins & Things, and Top of the World trails. Thanks for posting.
Another great video with awesome sites and scenery. Can't help but love the scenery and the thoughts of how nature was formed there over time. Glad to see your still enjoying yourselves. Ya it is pretty sad that the horses died how they did but we also can't be looking at history through tinted lens of our concepts and perceptions of today and forgetting that things were done generally according to "custom" of that particular time and that we have changed and evolved since those times. Great to see the State preserves the history of that time there and uses it as a teaching moment as well by the looks of things. 😊
Thank you for this video! Been trying to scope out where to set up to photograph sunrise this September at Dead Horse and this video was EXACTLY what I needed.
I was at Canyonlands National Park a couple years ago. I totally missed Dead Horse Point SP. Great scenery there. I guess I'll have to make another trip over there. I also didn't go to Needles Overlook and heard later that it is also spectacular. Thanks for showing us these treasures.
I went back and watched some of your older video's. Your have been at some of my favorite places out west. I think Black Canyon of the Gunnison is my favorite small national park. I have camped there three times. Great job sharing. I am heading out to Moab in January I want to check it out in the winter. I am looing forward to the silence.
That is very nice to see, I learned something from watching this video. I see that the final scene from Thelma and Louise where they go over the edge was filmed there too. Very cool place, thanks for sharing.
Loved the overlook views. Thank you. One of our favorite things we did around the Moab area, besides the exploration of the fascinating geology, was to visit the multiple sites of petroglyphs in the area. It stirs the imagination to conceive of peoples living in this area thousands of years ago and what their life must have been like.
Cool... That's on my bucket list, long way from Sweden but sometimes. Have watched a video of someone drive Shafer Trail & Potash Road and it looks awesome. The final scene from Thelma and Louise is not far away from there you were.
watching this, it's hard to believe their are people that are unhappy to live in these United States. Thanx for the view, gonna put that place on my bucket list.
Hi, we were there camping at Wingate in July it was very hot but it was awesome, we liked it better than the Grand Canyon, thank's for sharing this video.
Aloha ya-all, this used to be our spring outing for Memorial Day, it was still cold in Durango so we would get the bikes out and spend the week end in Moab. You can't imagine the 4 wheel roads available in that area. You can spend a long time in that area and nor see it all. Dead Horse Point has changed there was NO visitors center and no multiple overlooks, there was a cable life line along the edge and that was it!
Each area has it's own beauty. In my mind, nothing I've seen beats S.E. Alaska. Driving to Skagway is pure bonus. Going via Prince Rupert is well worth it, also.
imagine flying a drone out towards the middle.....and losing it as it flies away! Course drones are illegal in most parks but wouldn't be cool getting the video as it goes into oblivion. Beautiful area!
The horse story reminds me of a similar tale - The Horse Latitudes. They are called that because sailing ships would get stuck there in the middle of the Atlantic with no wind, and would have to toss the horses they were carrying with them overboard because they couldn't feed them anymore. I'm guessing it was a similar story with those horses in Utah - out in the middle of the desert with not enough food or water for all the horses, so some had to be "left behind"....
Ben there done that and love that area, if you have time check out Hurricane Utah and say hi to Matt at Winder off-road recovery! You can also rent ORVs there. I told you that you would love the red dirt of Utah!
@@AbomAdventures OK did not know for sure. I bet you guys had a great time. I am very happy you had some time to in joy our country out west! There is a lot to see for sure.
I cannot see the Ghost Horse. I backed this video up a half dozen times and still don't see it. Sad the legend of this area, but extremely beautiful country.
You were so close. BLM road 129 goes off to the west just past the horse thief camp ground. It is about 20 miles across the plateau to the switch backs that goes down to Mineral Bottoms on the Green river. Easy to do in a pickup truck. Horses are an invasive species. They have no natural predators. There were no horses in north america until they got away from the Spanish in the 1600s. For cowboys at that time bullets were expensive. Just rounding them up and fencing them in was cheaper. Looks like you are having a great time.
All of our great great great great ancestors treated all of mother nature and her creatures like trash from whales to buffalo it was so senseless. And it still gose on today when you visit other countries and see the destruction man causes.
All it takes is visits to places like our National Parks and State Parks to see how far we’ve come from that nonsense. Even with the strict enforcements over game and fishing is there to help protect our resources for centuries to come.
Very Nice Adam maybe One drone takes beter fotos or videos. From Greece John Grizopoylos retired machinist It is time too return the machine Shop........ ho ho ho.
One of my favorite places. I am a retired geologist and worked in Utah for a dozen years. I am so glad that you have taken the time to visit.
Spectacular. Thanks for inviting us along.
Imagine that the river in the bottom is the “end mill” that cut these beautiful canyons.
absolutely fantastic view. wished to see it in person one day. but if not, thank you for sharing all these places for all to see a least on camera

We were there this summer and I loved Dead Horse State Park. It is amazing.
It is beautiful. If you haven’t seen the Grand Canyon you need to go see it it’s awesome
Thanks so very much for letting us go along on your adventures. WOW I've got to go.

Amazing and informative tours i'm loving the whole series

I have just one question for yall...who's hands were sweating at the overlooks?
WHAT NO TOURISTS ?? sorry i had to :) cool place! did it say on the sign there how long it took to dig it ? thanks !

You guys coming to Joshua tree national park o your trip? Long time viewer. Love to show you around.
Not on this trip. We hope to plan a future visit through Arizona.
Amazing!! :-)
How do you like those very Blue potash ponds?

Doldrums.. out in the Atlantic east of Brazil
Adam if you want to take a nice drive go south Of Moab to Hi way 46 east to Colo. Hiway 90 then east to Hiway 141 north to Grand Jct.
Ben there done that and love that area, if you have time check out Hurricane Utah and say hi to Matt at Winder off-road recovery! You can also rent ORVs there. I told you that you would love the red dirt of Utah!
Rent an ATV, have fun, but keep Matt’s number in your pocket.
Adam the white ponds you saw at Dead Horse are the Potash plant I told you about on Hi way 279.
I’m aware of them and 279, we just didn’t have time to take that route.
@@AbomAdventures I see.
Are you still in the Moab area? If you are I posted a nice drive back to Colo.
We are back home. I still have plenty of videos to edit and share. Only so much time to get it all done.
@@AbomAdventures OK did not know for sure. I bet you guys had a great time. I am very happy you had some time to in joy our country out west! There is a lot to see for sure.
The Grand Canyon is one mile deep I took an 11 day raft trip down Colorado river thru the Grand Canyon.
My vertigo is in overdrive.
Shafer canyon road is awesome in a jeep, I took it with my parents and aunt and uncle in a giant van..... that was.... less awesome.
Wow!! :-)
I cannot see the Ghost Horse. I backed this video up a half dozen times and still don't see it. Sad the legend of this area, but extremely beautiful country.
You can see it when we’re looking down from the very end overlook, like when I’m n the observation platform. The landscape is in the shape of a horse.
How old are you guys and how do you do it?
A better park than the Grand Canyon.

Seems lke you need to get your self a side by side of your own. Modding it woudl he a hell of a project for the main channel
can you pack a mini monarch with you i'm having withdrawals
The grand canyon is about 3 times deeper than that, but it's really hard to judge the scale.
The greatest height from any of the mesas down to the Colorado River I could find in the Moab area was about 2100 feet looking at topographic maps.
I love Dead Horse Point but I agree with Abby, it is depression what those cowboys did to the horses they didn't want.
