That car is basically saying come at me bro to anyone with rocket launchers and armour piercing bullets
It's built to withstand most, but not all weaponry a person can carry and while certainly very heavily armored, it's by no means invulnerable. It's most probably impervious to handheld guns, but for rockets, I wouldn't try to push my luck in it. Even the venerable RPG-7 with a PG-7VL round (now over 35 years old) would most likely penetrate with a direct hit (PG-7VL is rated to >20'' of RHA). An AT-4 with HP and HEAT rounds are rated at over 16-20'' of RHA. And that's before we get to guided things like the Javelin, which are designed to be capable of killing a main battle tank with a single shot from a long way away.
So yeah, it's certainly a very secure car, but let's not oversell its capabilities :)

I would like to see a compilation of the evolution of the president's limo. This current limo came out in early 2009, at the end of President Bush's tenure and the beginning of President Obama's. New generations of the limo seem to come around every new president or so. Cool vehicles all the same.

If it doesn't have reactive armor, the thing is vulnerable to a plain old RPG, some commonly available RPGs can penetrate some twenty inches worth of solid steel. A simple large IED while it may not critically deform the vehicles structure will create a vibrational component inside the vehicle that will liquify the internal structure of a human body.

The cannons are in some of the SUVs in the motorcade - watch other videos and you'll see them. Its the SUVs driving with the open tailgate sections.

Yep. I saw a show (can't remember which) where they shot a 1 1/2 inch bullet proof window with an armor piercing 50 cal. sniper rifle. The glass barely withstood it. But keep in mine the beast has 6 inch bulletproof glass.
And with the upcoming movie White House Down, we will finally get to see The Beast in action showing what it can do! The movie went all out and did a near perfect looking replica of The Beast and will be used in a chase around the White House lawn dodging bullets etc...

Dupont makes the polycarb and the glass sand is from a Island of Italy, I know because it's the same Thicknes re: 8" and can stop a .50 cal armer piecing round even a 20mm armer piercing sniper round, but a direct hit from a tank say a M1 or any other new type of tank, good by beast, but it's made to protect the man and get him to a safe place after the attack. Even NEW RPG's and EMP's, but to show the same beast getting stuck due to angle of road, so the SS dont think of every thing.
I think he should have gotten a 1976 Limo, and then made that with all the guns and crap. Alot nicer looking.

@blegukutuk yes they have tested a 50cal which again on half as think as the glass in the presidential limo and it did not go thru they shot 3 bullets at the glass shield no damage to the inside

Well, this is real life and not call of duty, you won't have a random jet fly in and nuke the limo. It's unlikely with the amount of protection the president has. The limo itself has pretty impressive protection and armor. It may or may not be destroyed outright, and it depends on the plane's weapons and the type of plane. Frankly the window's could be destroyed but the frame and the armor of the limo could absorb much of the blast.

Its not AP proof. Not even tanks can withstand an AP-rocket from a regular RPG-7, not unless its wearing heavy armor and the rocket itself hits the hard spot.

+Max Jebadiah The lethal thing of the RPG is not the explosion itself (it does for the outside persons) but it's the copper jet (shaped charge) that can go through 35 cm of steel at the speed of 8 km/s. Only reactive armor can stop it.

It probably does protect from even those. You would have to continue shooting the\e same spot to get the bullet through. Which would give away the position for counter-sniper to kill you.
