Karen looks stunning. As someone who has melasma for over 12 years, using SPF and wearing a hat during summer helps keep it at bay. Otherwise, it comes back within 3-5 days. Skinceuticals Age defence serum applied regularly on the area helps as well to even out the tone.

You have such a way of demonstrating how makeup should look. It’s meant to elevate not to overshadow. The models you use, of course, are beautiful, their bone structures, their skin... but the way that your application is... so subtle, so soft and elegant, always building instead of excess of product. Makeup can always be added, but it is a little more difficult to take it away if too much is applied. I just absolutely admire the way that you enhanced her natural beauty and the usage of color selection for her skin!

Beautiful! I'm so glad you talked about melasma - this is so commonly misdiagnosed by people as hyperpigmentation from sun damage. Melasma is (in extremely generic terms) an overproduction of melanin by your cells due to a change in your body, so removing what comes up to the surface may work temporarily but it will just come back. This is different than sun damage, which can possibly be removed and treated over time to strengthen the skin. Many derms will have (or be able to refer to) a machine that can see "below the skin" to help diagnose. So refreshing to see so much good information, very "old school" knowledge, I miss this type of classic beauty.
