- Increase in temperature and humidity causes a lot of us to sweat and for some, this can lead to BODY ODOR. In this video I will talk about, what causes it and how to treat body odor.
It's not as simple as many might think it is, there are other reasons for having smelly sweat other than poor hygiene. Check out this video if you are curious to know what they are and if you want to know what can be done to address it.

For generalized sweating, i suggest a consultation with an internist or endocrinologist :)

I read an article how to get rid BO, which it says, you just have to sweat a lot so it will come out your sweat and BO. but you have to drink a lot of water to replenish your body with new and clean water so it will not smell it anymore.

Doc thank you for sharing your advices & things to do in reducing body odors. I have question from my friend in surgery how much will it cost & how many days will it shows the results ,is this a permanent treatment for for goodbye B.O forever?
Best to ask a surgeon with regards to the price, its not something i do :) but usually after 2-3 surgeries, the resulta should be permanent

I am experiencing a sudden body odor problem. I have very good hygiene and I avoid all the foods that cause BO. I have little to no sweat.
Could my BO cause be from environmental factors? I moved to South Korea a few months ago. Back at home I never had this problem.

battling bo since elementary. usually get picked on and people talk behind my back because of it. It really affected my confidence that it contributed to why I shifted courses and change school since a lot of them noticed already. sNakakahiya ang condition ko and people don’t know how much pain I carry everyday because of it. I bathe everyday and make sure my clothes are washed well (I hand wash them myself) but the odor is still there.
My actions are restricted kasi konting kilos, I sweat and it develops odor. I’m really worried that it’s going to affect me when I work in a corporate setting 😬😬 I spend my baon on different products and remedies (it cost a looot) but still it doesn’t control the bo and sweating. I’m definitely struggling especially with our weather here in PH.

Same here po. In a sense na nagstruggle din ako since HS. It's really difficult kasi we are emotionally affected. Til now i havent found a cure sa ua odor. Altho siguro pag iniwasan ko yung food triggers & stress yun lang makakapagless ng odor.

Thank you for sharing. Have you consulted with an endorcinologist to check for metabolic conditions? You may also want to explore more permanent solutions such as surgery.
Try doing exercise in morning po para mag labas tayo ng madaming pawis na nag sasanhi ng odor then pahinga po ng konti before taking a bath the use a deo . Suggestion ko lang po itooo.

Thank you so much for the very detailed info./tips. I 've tried a lot of personal grooming/eating habits you suggested in the video but to no availl. I just reek of armpit odor 24/7 and have struggled to control over my BO since early puberty. I have no known health condition and have seen multiple endocrinologists and dermatologists at this point. Any 'expert' I see always tells me that I'm imagining things - that "they don't smell anything." I even tried googlng dermatologists who deal with body odor but all I get is a bunch of useless articles explaining the same thing about how BO forms. I know how it’s feels, which country are you from and apart from the doctors saying that they don’t smell anything, do people despise you, do people say you stink and if yes, in your settings/Home do they tell you you smell that nobody wants to come close. Reply me I will see it

I have not tried it but I have seen it. I prefer to use CO2, do electrocauteruy or scissors excision.
i have msh , smells like onion. and i have pcos. My right side armpit smells like onion . Sometimes my deodorant works and sometimes not. What cream or oil etc you can recommend except the turok, surgery and the other one you said po? thanks
My dermatologist prescribed me drysol for my armpits and erythromycin for both armpits and groin. But the erythromycin doesn’t work for the groin area. The dosage is 2%, should I tell them to increase the dosage? Or should I use something else?? Please help I shower everyday, sometimes twice a day. This has been happening since middle school!!
These questions are best directed to your dermatologist. It's not ethical for us to meddle with another practitioner's management :)

The one i use is dove but meron din deonat or plain aluminum chloride 15% (drichlor)

Doc, thanks po sa pag share ng info na to. I think meron din po akong apocrine bromhidrosis. Sobrang nag struggle ako sa condition lalo na dito sa PH parang kulang sa awareness about sa condition na to. I do experience anxiety, depression and low self-esteem. I noticed since last year that I started with BO I couldn't understand y because I'm very clean on myself so I want to know y do I have now BO even tho I bath twice a day I still don't understand
Base din sa observation ko natrigger yung apocrine glands sa pag secret ng b.o dahil sa mga food triggers (red meat,onion, dairy products,etc.), stress and hormone changes lalo na pag malapit na period ko. Those are the things that may trigger my apocrine bromhidrosis or yung axillary osmidrosis (underarm odor)

Hi Doc, I have bladder issues po for almost 7 years. And I noticed na nagkakaron din ako ng B.O everytime na nagpapawis ako. I take a bath po everyday, madalas twice a day pa. I'm really having a hard time po kung paano ito matatanggal, marami na din po ako natry na products pero I think po na this is connected sa aking bladder issues and the medicines I take which led to constipation
I recommend a consultation with a urologist for your bladder issues and a gastro-enterologist for your constipation. They will be able to determine is there is a correlation between one or both of them and your BO.

Hi doc may antibacterial soap po ba kayong marerecommend na gentle sa underarm at the same time can be used to whole body and how to properly clean your underarm after gumamit ng deo.
In general, all soaps naman can remove microbes in your underarms. Choose lng siguro ung mejo hindi matapang and neutral pH -- dove sensitive, cetaphil antibacterial bar, oilatum, safegaurd dermasense etc.
As for antiperspirants, i recommend aluminum chloride and to apply it on ur anderarms at bedtime, para least active ung sweat glands mo.

Ask ko lang po about using of Dr. Kaufmann's Sulfur Soap, and Dr S Wong's White and Yellow Sulfur Soaps together with the Bioderm Ointment. Does it help po to stop, or lessen, or eliminate the bacteria that causes b.o?
Tsaka by removing toxins din po inside the body by taking Barley, can it also reduce or remove b.o po Doc?

using regular soap should work, if not go for anti-bacterial soap or benzoyl peroxide 4% or 10% wash

Benzoyl peroxide is one but be careful as it can stain clothing :) u can opt to use the one in wash form para hindi mamantsahan ung mga damit mo. Also very important to make sure clothes are properly washed because bacteria can remain in them and pag pinagpawisan ka pwede dn mag ka smell.

Hello! Anything with Aluminum chloride 15-20%. Ok dn ung solid tawas :) I recommend applying it at bedtime pars hindi ka pinagpapawisan mashado.

If you address excessive sweating and bacterial proliferation, you may be able to get rid of the smell. If you follow the recommendations in my video and still meron parin, best to consult na.

I havent tried that but chlorhexidine might be better such as gynepro feminine wash.

Noooo,that's the worst thing! I had a severe allergic reaction from this! You can't use this the wrong way!
I have hyperhydrosis so I try to take care of sensitive areas as much as possible in order to avoid B.O. When I was younger, it made me very very conscious to the point where my parents thought I was a lesbian for some time because I'm not very enthusiastic to get a boyfriend as much as the other teenage girls did. Well, at that time in my head, I thought suitors or a boyfriend would hold my hand and find it sweaty and they'd dump me because it would disgust them. I never told anyone because I was insecure. Many people think that if you're sweaty, you have B.O. and that just freezes me up.

@Kai Zen how are you dealing with hyperhydrosis now that you are older and any advice to your younger self on how you would deal with it now knowing what you know?
@@DivaDen I've mafe some afjustments to my lifestyle since then. The best thing to fo is be honest to the people around you, hyperhydrosis is harder to hanfle when you keep it a secret. I'm a woman and most of ny friends are women too so they are more clingy and touchy, I just tell them "please don't cling to me to much, it making me sweaty". I always carry handkerchief so i can wipe it off whenever. I buy footware that lets my feet breathe, like sandals with non-plastic soles because they get slippery when my feet gets sweaty. I live in a country where summer are long so I carry around eiyher an electric handheld fan of just the folded fan depending on where I have to go. Buy comfortable clothes. It is very important to be informed what hyperhydrosis is, how my body reacts to temperature, stress and personally be aware of those and how to help myself adjust. There are no instant solution. I'd just tell myself to read more about it and not ignore it, accept that I have to live with it.

Maraming ok na brands but look for antiperspirants containing aluminum chloride. If you are sensitive opt for those containing not too many ingredients or ung fragrance-free. Most of the time, trial and error din talaga. Ako personally I use dove ung walang scent na stick or roll-on.

Good Afternoon Doc. I hope you can help me get rid of my underarm BO because it affects me a lot. I lose confidence. I'm afraid to side with others. I always feel that they smell my BO and talk about it behind my back to make fun of me, but if they only knew how I suffer to get rid of it. I do a lot to get rid of it, but everything I do does'nt help me to get rid of it. I usually had a BO when I was in elementary, but I got rid of it because I used tawas and I really don't smell. I sweat a lot in my underarms, but it never smelled because I used tawas, but after I turned 18, and after a few months, I noticed a bad odor tinkling in my underarms. Even though I use tawa, I smell my BO and it is embarrassing. I try to use deodorant, but none of them work because my underarms stink when I sweat. Way back when I was in elementary until I turned 18, the reason why I use Tawas is because it's effective for me to get rid of my underarm odor and the reason why I don't use any other deodorant like Rexona or Dove is because it's not effective for me because when I use it and after a minute I sweat, my underarm still stinks. I don't know what deodorant to use to get rid of this because no product is effective in my underarm area. I'm in my second year of college right now, and we're having a face-to-face. I feel so stressed because I sweat a lot and smell really bad. I don't know what to do. Please help me, doc.
Akira,you and I have similar situations! I first started experiencing underarm odor in middle school.Try using liquid chlorophyll, and drinking more water.Use antibacterial soap under your arms,and scrub.The deodorant that helped me the most,is OldSpice Wolfthorne.Also,try to visit dermatologist to see if you have an overgrowth of bacteria, or check your thyroid to see if this is why you are overheating. First steps are to a) control sweating and b) control bacterial count. You can do these by following my recommendations sa video. If hindi parin magwork, best to consult a dermatologist na :)

Good eve Doc. if prang hindi.nwawala ang b.o.kht ano lagay ng deo, mainit kc. Ano mgnda antibacterial po sa UA
U can try using antibacterial soaps or bezoyl peroxide washes, also look for ingredientslike aluminum chloride in ur antiperspirant and use it at bedtime:) if hindi parin mag work, consult ka na with a dermatologist:)
Deodorants just mask the odor. Kapag nag mix sa sweat medjo off ang amoy. Use anti-perspirant instead at night. I suggest strong ones like drysol or driclor
at night. Wash pits with BP wash or wipe with hydrogen peroxide regularly. What produces odor is the bacteria eating the sweat. No sweat = no odor, no bacteria = no odor. Tried everything before and this is the one that worked really well. Try mo din bioderm ointment/ zinc oxide lotion.

It is recommended to put antiperspirant at bedtime - by definition antiperspirants (eg alum chloride) work by blocking the sweat glands kaya mas effective sila pag less active ung sweat glands mo.
Deodorants naman work by masking the odor. So pwedeng antiperspirant at bedtime and deo in the morning :)

That time una pong pinagamit sakin is calamansi then later on nalang po ako gumamit ng deo na unfortunately darkened my underarm. Ngayon po lalo pag summer kahit nasa air-conditioned room ako (maybe kinakabahan or stressed) pinagpapawisan padin ua ko. To the point kasi na nilalamig nako so naka jacket nako but my ua is sweating at may BO. Ive tried a lot of deo na din po kasi pero once pinagpawisan nako parang nawash away lang din sila kaya minsan i use driclor pa no sweat talaga.
If regular antiperspirants are not working anymore, i suggest mag consult ka na para ma assess ka at mabigyan ng other treatment options like the ones i mentioned in the video :)

I have never encountered a pateint with that kind of metabolic disorder, however I do know that you will benefit from guidance from a doctor soecializing in metabolic conditions and a dietician kc from the little that I know about it, there is no cure but it can be controlled by avoiding certain types of food and/or taking suppplements.
