    Hi Dr. Gaile! I came across your YT channel while researching about retinols and I'm so happy to have come across a board certified dermatologist from the PH to ask for skin advice! I hope you can do a video featuring product recommendations for different skin types (like Filipino dermatologist recommended facial wash, sunscreens, moisturizers, retinols etc) to help us with our various skin concerns. Thank you, doc! ❤️

    • @irenegaile
      @irenegaile  2 года назад +1

      the "perfect" sunscreen is different for everyone. Unfortunately it is a trial and error kind of thing. In my opinion as long as your sunscreen has the minimum requirements (eg. broad-spectrum, spf30 or more etc) made by a reputable brand and has the texture and consistency that you are willing to apply all over your face, then that should be ok :)

    Super masunscreen ako kahit ata umuulan at bumabagyo at nasa bahay lang ako. My day is not complete without putting on sunscreen, ultimo eyelids, back of ears and neck naglalagay ako 😅 I have oily, acne prone at very sensitive skin. The products that I use are:
    🌞Armada Face cover 30 (my fave since I work from home and mostly using my pc all throughout the day
    🌞Armada sport 70 (pag nasa arawan ako)
    🌞Heliocare 90 (I mostly use it when I do laser or chemical peel)
    🌞Khiel’s
    🌞Cetaphil (my least favorite. I still have it because I keep receiving the travel size as a freebie every time I purchase cetaphil product sa Lazada.
    My question though Doc, how often should we reapply or gaano ba dapat kadami to put all over the face?

    • @irenegaile
      @irenegaile  3 года назад +3

      Yehey that’s good!!
      Ideally you should reapply every 2-3 hours when outdoors from 9am to 3pm.
      More frequently when swimming or sweating - every 60 minutes.
      However if you are just indoors, not sweating and not really exposed to direct sunlight, a recent study shows that one application is good enough.
      Personally even if Im just in the clinic/indoors, i still reapply with my compact powder with spf :)

    • @irenegaile

      Hello! Maraming ok na body lotion with SPF in the market, I recommend that you find something that has an SPF of at least 30, better higher SPF if u have pigmentation or gusto mo talagang pumuti -- nivea, neutrogena, vmv armada, avene, heliocare, celeteque. belo, snail white etc. Pili ka nalang ng gusto mo ung texture and feel on your skin . Make sure to apply it correctly and to reapply as needed. Apart from using sunscreens, it will also help of you avoid direct and prolonged sun exposure, and if you seek shade and wear protective clothing.

      Basta spf 30 or more, broad-spectrum and water-resistant, ok na un. Unfortunately for those with sensitive skin, trial and error dn talaga.

    • @irenegaile
      @irenegaile  3 года назад +3

      For individuals with pigmentation issues I recommend using sunscreen with an SPF og 50+ just to make sure they get the right amount of protection. Pero sa totoo lng the best sunscreen is one that you will use. So pili ka ng gusto mo ung texture and ung feel on your skin and one that you are willing to apply everyday and to reapply as necessary :)

My concern lng with sprays or mists is that you most likely will miss spots and also end up inhaling the product. i dont have mist sunscreens although make up setting sprays with spf have been used on me in the past.
