Hi Dr. Gaile! I came across your YT channel while researching about retinols and I'm so happy to have come across a board certified dermatologist from the PH to ask for skin advice! I hope you can do a video featuring product recommendations for different skin types (like Filipino dermatologist recommended facial wash, sunscreens, moisturizers, retinols etc) to help us with our various skin concerns. Thank you, doc! ❤️
Hi po. I am so happy that a Filipino dermatologist is finally on YT. I hope po you could also include products that are available on the drugstore like watsons po. I am really having a hard time looking for the perfect sunscreen and has really tight budget po. Is the belo sunscreen okay po? I have an oily and acne prone skin po. Thank you and God bless po 😊
the "perfect" sunscreen is different for everyone. Unfortunately it is a trial and error kind of thing. In my opinion as long as your sunscreen has the minimum requirements (eg. broad-spectrum, spf30 or more etc) made by a reputable brand and has the texture and consistency that you are willing to apply all over your face, then that should be ok :)
My day is not complete without putting on sunscreen, ultimo eyelids, back of ears and neck naglalagay ako 😅 I have oily, acne prone at very sensitive skin. The products that I use are: 🌞Armada Face cover 30 (my fave since I work from home and mostly using my pc all throughout the day 🌞Armada sport 70 (pag nasa arawan ako) 🌞Heliocare 90 (I mostly use it when I do laser or chemical peel) 🌞Khiel’s 🌞Cetaphil (my least favorite. I still have it because I keep receiving the travel size as a freebie every time I purchase cetaphil product sa Lazada. My question though Doc, how often should we reapply or gaano ba dapat kadami to put all over the face?
Yehey that’s good!! Ideally you should reapply every 2-3 hours when outdoors from 9am to 3pm. More frequently when swimming or sweating - every 60 minutes. However if you are just indoors, not sweating and not really exposed to direct sunlight, a recent study shows that one application is good enough. Personally even if Im just in the clinic/indoors, i still reapply with my compact powder with spf :)
Im not very strict with sunscreens, for me go with what youre willing to apply daily and reapply as needed. Maybe stick to pure susncreens without many other addred ingredients

Hi doc! Can you make a vlog regarding recommended lotions with spf po kasi hindi po pantay yung kulay ng skin ng face ko sa body ko. So Im looking for a body lotion that is good for moisturing + has spf ☺️
Hello! Maraming ok na body lotion with SPF in the market, I recommend that you find something that has an SPF of at least 30, better higher SPF if u have pigmentation or gusto mo talagang pumuti -- nivea, neutrogena, vmv armada, avene, heliocare, celeteque. belo, snail white etc. Pili ka nalang ng gusto mo ung texture and feel on your skin . Make sure to apply it correctly and to reapply as needed. Apart from using sunscreens, it will also help of you avoid direct and prolonged sun exposure, and if you seek shade and wear protective clothing.
Hi doc. Matagal ko na po itong iniisip and no videos that I watched answers it. Pano po pag naka make-up, need ba burahin ulit ung make up para masunod ung recommended after 2-3hrs need mag apply ng sunscreen?
Hi Dr. Gaile, I just discovered your channel just now and I haven't regretted to have my subscription, very informative videos! Anyways po, is it okay to use Fairy Skin SPF 50 Sunscreen?
I have not tried that but whats important is regular and consistent use of a sunscreen that you like :) make sure also to apply enough and reapply as needed.
I would say look for one that contains the least amount of added ingredients to minimize the risk of a reaction. You may also opt for brands that are known to cater to sensitive skin. Basta spf 30 or more, broad-spectrum and water-resistant, ok na un. Unfortunately for those with sensitive skin, trial and error dn talaga.
Yes it is gel-based and should be ok on oily and sensitive skin. If you find physical sunscreens too white, you may layer instead of putting everything in one go. Please let me know how you like it :)
Doc, where can we buy that La Roche Posay? I don't wanna buy it at Shopee as I can't tell which is fake and real. There's cheap and expensive so I can't tell.

Hi doc new subscriber here!
Hello! Acne prone I recommend water-based or lightweight brands -- eg. biore, anessa, pwede dn mattifying ones with dimethicone. actually kailangan mong subukan para malaman mo if hiyang sayo :)
Thank you so much po. :)))))
Rejuv sets are not something i recommend in the treatment of acne lalo na ung mga sobrang daming irritating ingredients. I recommend a proper consultation, it will save you both time and money. Lipbalms or petroleum jelly are good in keeping your lips protected

Naku when it comes to sunscreen SOBRANG DAMING available in the market and unfortunately it's really a trial and error process. Marami naman na hindi gaanong mahal na brands if you go to the stores. I would suggest you find one na hindi mashadong maraming ingredients -- water/gel-based ones
Most sunscreens i use have a mix of chemical and physical filters. Not everything you read online about sunscreens is true. Hindi naman dangerous ang chemical sunscreens.
Hello po, doc. Pano kapag mag rereapply ng sunscreen but my make up ka pa? do you need to remove all ng make up then mag sunscreen then balik ulit makeup? thank you, sana po mapansin,
What about spray sunscreen ..are they waterproof/ physical or chemical...Can u apply chemical/ physical sunscreen in morning and spray sunscreen during the day which would be easy through the day to spray
With sunscreens, it's whatever works for you actually -- we all have different preferences and habits. As long as you're applying the right amount of a recommended sunscreen, that's ok. there are really no hard and fast rules.
Hi po doc! Thank you for this video hehe I know now what sunscreen to buy pero still unsure if la roche posay anthelios is good also for acne prone skin?
Ive tried the la roche posay invisible and it's good. I also tried anessa milk sunscreen, biore aqua, luxe organix aqua and hello glow 3-in-1 sunscreen. IMO ok sila for oily, acne-prone skin
If you like it then it should be ok. when it comes to susncreens ikaw lng ang makakapagsabi if ok sayo or not :) but for oily skin best are lightweight, water- or gel-based ones.
For individuals with pigmentation issues I recommend using sunscreen with an SPF og 50+ just to make sure they get the right amount of protection. Pero sa totoo lng the best sunscreen is one that you will use. So pili ka ng gusto mo ung texture and ung feel on your skin and one that you are willing to apply everyday and to reapply as necessary :)

Thank you so much for this video, Doc! I'm currently using GT Brightening C+ Daily Sun Care with SPF70 (I hope this is good with oily acne prone skin T--T), it's a tinted sunscreen and I'm wondering how should I do the reapplication to my oily and acne prone skin? Should I use a blotting paper to remove excess oil and then reapply my sunscreen? Thank you so much in advance doc!!
I have a video about sunscreen reapplication. If you are outdoors nadumihan pinagpawisan, best to wash your face first before reapplying sunscreen. Kung indoors k lng naman at aircon, no need to reapply if d ka pinagpawisan. I have a video about this baka u want to watch :)
@@irenegaile it makes my skin super oily, Doc🥺 I'm struggling to find a gel sunscreen na walang fragrance. Pero base sa mga naging research ko po, japanese sunscreens are good. What can you recommend po kaya?
Broad-spectrum, spf 30 or higher, lightweight with not too many added ingredients with a texture that you like and will be willing to use when needed. Best to go to stores and test them out.
Doc, ano po thoughts nyo sa Banana Boat Baby Sensitive Mineral Sunscreen? To someone na on acne medications & oily sensitive skin type okay po kaya ito?
Hello doc hhm doc I managed to buy ung sunscreen Po na ginamit nyo for oily skin ung Cetaphil kasu Po ung dumating Sakin nka lagay good for sensitive nagkamali Po atA Ng ibinigay doc ok lang poba kung gamitin kona to kahit combination to oily Po Ako ?
Ok lng naman. Actually wala naman bawal na sunscreen kahit kanino, ultimately it’s still up to you kung ano ang mas type mo gamitin :) some prefer matte finish, while others like the shiny finish
Hi doc, thank you for sharing your knowledge. :( I have acne and combination skin. Eyeing for frezyderm, what would you recommend tinted or clear?
I tried frezyderm clear and Yun lang nka solve Ng acne ko. So if kaya Ng budget then GO, but if you're looking for something much cheaper I suggest Beauty of Joseon sunscreen.
@@turogta3600 Dr Gaile war right for the tinted one it got blur effect for acne while the clear was like you put nothing on the skin. After a few hour the matte finish is gone you need to wipe off the oil in your face.
Actually marami! best to go to the stores and check so that you can test on your skin. Basta make sure lng that you know what's in it and it's made by a reputable brand.
If hindi naman nadumihan ung face mo - example if nagpunta ka sa construction site or if you walked outdoors or nag commute, u can just re-apply. I personally use a compact powder with SPF mas madali hehe
Hi doc! I always make sure I include sunscreen on my day-time skincare routine but I just got a new job and I work night shift now and sleep during the day. Do you recommend applying sunscreen while sleeping po ba? May blackout curtain naman sa room ko but rays still pass thru. My bed is also placed beside the window.
@@irenegaile Hi Doc, I also work at night and facing a computer screen. I saw in tne internet that blue light can also damage our skin so on our case, should we wear sunscreen 24/7 - before sleeping at day time and at night time before facing a computer? This has been a concern for me specially that I'm using a retinoid with antibiotic at night. TIA for your answer, Doc! 🙏
@@irenegaile The AHA - BHA - PHA 30 DAYS MIRACLE AC SOS KIT. I'm currently using this po but I wanna the insight from a licensed professional. Been using for 4 days already.

Hi doc! I have blackheads on my nose. I don't have any problems except blackheads. What products/ ingredients do you think would work to resolve this problem doc.
Naku napakaraming brands in the market For oily skin best are lightweight, water- or gel-based ones. Sensitive -- choose one na hindi mashadong maraming added ingredients apart from the UV filters Tinted recommended for those with pigmentation problems kc may added protection against visible light :)
I would have to say though that mists are good for setting make up, and for reapplication throughout the day if you have make up on. My concern lng with sprays or mists is that you most likely will miss spots and also end up inhaling the product. i dont have mist sunscreens although make up setting sprays with spf have been used on me in the past. I like using sprays for my body and what I do is that I spray on my palms before applying the sunscreen on my body.

Is lotion wd spf good? Para isa na lang. Ie nivea sun?
Yes, as long as it has at least spf 30, and applied correctly - right amount and re-applied as needed :)
for me yes, unless you find it too heavy and you don't like how it feels sa skin mo
@@irenegaile it makes my skin super oily, Doc🥺 I'm struggling to find a gel sunscreen na walang fragrance. Pero base sa mga naging research ko po, japanese sunscreens are good. What can you recommend po kaya?
Hi doc! What suncreens do you recommend for a 13 yo with a normal skin but acne prone?
Broad-spectrum, spf 30 or higher, lightweight with not too many added ingredients with a texture that you like and will be willing to use when needed. Best to go to stores and test them out.
In my opinion ok naman cya :)
In my opinion ok naman cya :)
salamat salamat salamat!!!❤❤❤❤❤
you're welcome! :) salamat din!
Doc whats your opinion La roche posay spray sunblock?
I like that brand :) ok cya
Hello doc hhm doc I managed to buy ung sunscreen Po na ginamit nyo for oily skin ung Cetaphil kasu Po ung dumating Sakin nka lagay good for sensitive nagkamali Po atA Ng ibinigay doc ok lang poba kung gamitin kona to kahit combination to oily Po Ako ?
Ok lng naman. Actually wala naman bawal na sunscreen kahit kanino, ultimately it’s still up to you kung ano ang mas type mo gamitin :) some prefer matte finish, while others like the shiny finish
@@irenegaile yeyyyy thank you Po Ng Marami
Hi doc, thank you for sharing your knowledge. :(
I have acne and combination skin. Eyeing for frezyderm, what would you recommend tinted or clear?
Depends sa type mo. The tinted kc parang primer/foundation na :)
I tried frezyderm clear and Yun lang nka solve Ng acne ko. So if kaya Ng budget then GO, but if you're looking for something much cheaper I suggest Beauty of Joseon sunscreen.
Already got the clear one, will buy tinted also just to try...
@@reynoldalfaro860 nice! How was it?
@@turogta3600 Dr Gaile war right for the tinted one it got blur effect for acne while the clear was like you put nothing on the skin. After a few hour the matte finish is gone you need to wipe off the oil in your face.
Ano po affordable na sunscreen doc?
Actually marami! best to go to the stores and check so that you can test on your skin. Basta make sure lng that you know what's in it and it's made by a reputable brand.
hi doc! Is it necessary to wash your face with regards to reapplying sunscreen? Thanks a lot!❤️
If hindi naman nadumihan ung face mo - example if nagpunta ka sa construction site or if you walked outdoors or nag commute, u can just re-apply. I personally use a compact powder with SPF mas madali hehe
thanks doc..🤗
I think blackout curtains are better.
Apart from protection against the sun, u will also sleep better in the dark
@@irenegaile Hi Doc, I also work at night and facing a computer screen. I saw in tne internet that blue light can also damage our skin so on our case, should we wear sunscreen 24/7 - before sleeping at day time and at night time before facing a computer? This has been a concern for me specially that I'm using a retinoid with antibiotic at night. TIA for your answer, Doc! 🙏
Some by mi review pleaseee
What kind of product is it? :)
@@irenegaile The AHA - BHA - PHA 30 DAYS MIRACLE AC SOS KIT. I'm currently using this po but I wanna the insight from a licensed professional. Been using for 4 days already.
Godbless
Pick one na pang kids usually they contain the least amount of ingredients and made for sensitive skin :)
How much amount of silica use in sunscreen is safe ?
I have to be honest, I have no idea but what im sure of is that a product will not be put in the market if it poses a danger to the public
I want to start using sunscreen, but I don't even know my skin type😅😆
I have a video on knowing your skin type: ruclips.net/video/-biEiOTMer0/видео.html
Hi doc! I have blackheads on my nose. I don't have any problems except blackheads. What products/ ingredients do you think would work to resolve this problem doc.
Retinoids, salicylic acid can help :)
Dra. is it okay to immediately apply sunscreen after moisturizing or should I at least do it a minute after moisturizing? Thank you po
I usually just wait a few seconds :) once na absorb nya naman ung moisturizer ok na :)
@@irenegaile Noted po. Thank you so much
Naku napakaraming brands in the market
For oily skin best are lightweight, water- or gel-based ones.
Sensitive -- choose one na hindi mashadong maraming added ingredients apart from the UV filters
Tinted recommended for those with pigmentation problems kc may added protection against visible light :)
How about sensitive skin po😭😭
opt for those that do not contain many other added ingredients apart from UV filters.
Thoughts about the sunglow sunmist po ? : )
I have never heard of that. Let me check it out :)
@@irenegaile Thank you so muccch poooo
@@lei6157 you’re welcome ☺️
step 1 go to dermatologists
Hi po dr. Gaile! What sunscreens do you recommend po for 14 yrs. old with dry, sensitive, and acne prone skin? Been looking into Belo sunscreens po, but someone said that it's too harsh pa daw po. Thank you so much poo!! 🫶
Hmmm for my kids I use- cetaphil, anessa, avene, isis pharma:) unfortunately if sensitive skin mejo trial and error talaga
