Dear sewing Friends, in this video I would love to share with 3 dress upcycles and a little extra at the end of the video :) 3 shirt upcycles - ruclips.net/video/oW11Tfapkao/видео.html 3 sweater upcycles - ruclips.net/video/A39yvNFBJtw/видео.html 3 jeans upcycles - ruclips.net/video/QK6eMWIFQwY/видео.html
I'm just loving this series! I have an extremely small clothing budget for my family and most of our clothing comes from local thrift shops and free stores. Learning to turn a cast off item into something new and exciting is such a blessing to me. Thank you!
Sometimes older garments have such better fabric than new ones too. It used to be fun to try to match and upcycle garments. I wish I had done more of it over the last decade or so!
Experimental projects are my favorite kind! Every year I make elaborate Halloween costumes for my daughter and my goal is always to make the best costume for the least money. It's an excellent opportunity for my creativity to flow! I don't have to worry about the costume being washed a bunch or even worn more than once so I can use unconventional materials and construction methods. It's all one big experiment until it's finished and I usually have to learn a new skill or two that I can add to my toolbox! I build on my sewing and fabrication knowledge every year and it's truly my happy place 😊😊
Hi Alisa, I have a whole bunch of dresses I don't wear. You just gave me a idea. I should cut my dresses in half & make into a 2 peice..!! Thank you alot 🙂🙂..!!
I love up cycling also and liked how you made different garments out of what you were not wearing anymore. I have had to make many of my clothing wearable as I was a size 12, now an 8 so been taking in seams and taking up hems etc or inserting elastic into waistbands on my jeans. On my knit hems have found doing a blind hem works well as tried different ways of hemming and was not happy with the outcome but blind hemming works well for me now.
I went in the other direction, 12 to 18. But some of these ideas work for me as well. I think I can pair up some garments to make some cute wardrobe items as single pieces. I wouldn't have thought of that necessarily until this gave me a few ideas!
Alisa, you’re a genius! Love the upcycles. I know what you mean about the fabric for the jacket. If it’s right, it’s not right! But great job on the jacket! And now you have some spare silk for something else lovely!
So glad to see you this morning ❤❤❤you are like sunshine 🥰love all your remakes including the jacket ❤❤❤you are a wonderful teacher/instructor have a wonderful weekend ❤
I love your videos! Just recently I made my first pattern using your instructions. It was well explained and that made it easy to follow along! I could do it too! It was a proud moment for me 😊 Thank you very much for the time and effort you put into your channel. It is my go-to channel when it comes to sewing! ❤
Linda, this was so great to read! Thank You for sharing it and indeed - give yourself a great pat on the back! For the past years I did step-by-step tutorials and this year we are building on top of that with all of the creative stuff :)
Happy Saturday Alisa dear, hope all is well. Wow there all lovely, the 2nd top is cool with the sparkling sleeves. Also I love the jacket & blouse, your the best sis🧵❤️🙏🏽
Good morning, dear Arlene!!! I hope your Mom is doing well and that you have a bit of break! Keeping you in my thoughts. Health is one of those things that you have to keep on track with, otherwise you can't get it back :( sending you hugs!
My gosh! I’ve just pulled apart an upmarket thrifted dress to make an outfit for my granddaughter, I was also surprised by how badly made it was. Your t-shirt is just gorgeous and the top looks great too
thank you Jacq, I love the concept/pattern but the fabric is just... I can't describe how loud it is when I wear it, and I can stand a lot of things, it is not like I am super sensitive bto sound or anything like that. It is weird, but I am happy to play around with it as a muslin and experiment more with other things :)
He he, it is the craziest thing! :) I can't even describe how loud it is - it is so bizarre :) I love the concept/idea though and glad I got to play around with it :)
I can imagine what it might be like. I have this aversion to the "squeaky cotton" in vitamin bottles. It might not be that bad, but like a soft sandpaper feeling. I couldn't do it either.
I simply love your videos, they are so easy to follow and I really appreciate the effort you put in the tutorials. Thank you so so much. Love from India.😊🌺
Hello Alisa 😊 another very interesting and inspiring video. 👌🏼 I especially like the viscose top with the sparkle. I’m doing a bit of sashiko at the moment. I have a backpack that has a ruined area so I’m covering it in sashiko in the colours indigo blue with cream stitches. Hope you have a great week … it’s always wonderful to see you. 🥰
Oh, sashiko is so fun and it adds a lot of wonderful texture, doesn't it? I have a store bought bacj pack that needs repair where the closure is at - so I think that is calling my name :) always wonderful to read your comments and sewing adventures ;)
Alisa, you are just a joy to watch! Even though I don't have the confidence to do some of these projects, I just feel more confident watching you do them. You explain the steps and the fabric types so well. I have a deep discounts fabric store nearby and trying to figure out what is what on the unmarked rolls is very interesting sometimes 😂 Do you have any tips or tricks in cases like this? Thanks again!
I admire your ability to see another garment within the dress you bought or have. I’m loaded with clothes that I don’t wear. I have sewn clothes earlier in my life. I own a Serger, Embroider Machine and the flat seam machine that is used for knits. I still don’t use them to their full potential. I don’t have the confidence at all.
I feel that way sometimes too. But if you don't wear the clothes at all, and the chance to invent something you might love and be proud of wearing is the challenge, it might be just the adventure you need. No one needs to know. Just go for it and see what happens! No need to tell anyone if something doesn't work, but just think of what a boost it would be if you invent your new favorite thing! 😊
Great ideas and useful advice as always! Could you please also link the pop up video in the comments or description? Popup interactions aren’t visible on ipads, which is what I usually use to watch RUclips with (thought you might also want to know that likely other iPad users won’t be able to access those either) Also glad to see you’re feeling better again :)
Vivenna, great suggestion - thank you, but may I ask what do you mean by "pop up" video? Do you mean the end-screen, the one I point at when the video is almost done? :) I had no clue that they aren't visible on iPads... We live and we learn ...
Do you have a video on how you set up or install your pegboard, I just got my pegboard from Lowe’s and I have to painted it white and install it but I’m not sure how to install it on my wall
Congratulations on your peg board. Just open Google and search for "how to install a peg board" and I am sure you will find a ton of helpful information and will be ready to go :)
Hi. I recently asked how to become a member. The Link didn't work and I couldn't see any join button. Today I had VPN activated and it happened that I suddenly saw this join button when I'm logged in in another countries server. As a Sri Lankan follower you can't get a member. No join button. Luckily I have VPN.
Hi. Greetings from Finland. I'ts beatifull spring here. Live your channel and joind to member today. Have you any hiking clothes patterns? Have s nice weekend 😊
Hello there and thank you for joining! You can see all my pattern drafting videos on my channel, they are organized in a playlist. As for the hiking clothes - you can adapt any pattern/clothing for hiking purposes. What is the difference between a hiking t-shirt and a regular t-shirt or hiking pants from regular basic pants? The base will be the same, but the details you can adjust to suit your needs. Take a look at the pant/shorts mini-series for Members only, part 2, where we went deeper into design and pattern development - that will help you out!
Awesome video! Thank you! God bless you! ♥️♥️💯. God bless everyone who reads this and love you all: make sure you know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour everyone! He is coming soon! Accept and believe in Jesus Christ! John 3:16, Revelation 20:15, 1 Corrinthians 15 1-4 and Romans 10 9 and 10
I love your videos, but not the hysterical laugh which pops out for no reason and distracts the attention. In this video also that thing is there but, thankfully less. You are already very pleasant , not necessary to fake any smiles.
Well... I laugh how I laugh, and I am who I am. I appreciate that you enjoy my videos, but I am not going to change who I am and how I laugh for every commentator that dislikes my laugh, my way of talking, my voice and goodness knows what else... I bring my whole self to you and I open up my world in hopes to bring joy and creativity, and that comes with my personality, so if the laugh really disturbs you - you can mute the video and turn on the subtitles. EDITED TO ADD: I know it is hard to read the emotional color of the comment, so I wanted to add that I wrote my comment without any bad/rude intentions, it was written in a "oh well, it is what it is" spirit, and my suggestion is genuine - I do that on some other channels where I have a hard time listening to the person - I just turn on the subtitles :)
@@ThoughtfulCreativity Very well said! Be genuine, be honest, absolutely no need to change. I don't know what is wrong with some people. Perhaps they are little control-freaks?

I’m learning so much. Love those little sparkly sleeves; I would never have thought of this. 😊
I really liked the first two dresses, but I liked the makeovers you did on them.
Alisa, my dear, you never cease to amaze me...another 'home-run'!
Lovely upcycles. Looking forward to see what you make with the silk.
Yeah, me too!
Thank you! 😊
Nice work, as always. Love all 3! I think the jacket is darling!!
I appreciate the variety of techniques. Some of these are just “chop it off & hem the edge” yours have style.
I really like how the jacket turned out!
Sequined sleeves look very nice!
I love what you do to revamp clothing.
Brilliant second t shirt, sleeves look great!
Great video! Especially the second top. It turned out amazing!
Hi Alisa, I have a whole bunch of dresses I don't wear. You just gave me a idea. I should cut my dresses in half & make into a 2 peice..!!

Great idea!!

The jacket is cute, and looks great with the matching blouse. Wear it.

I loved that first dress and I still love it as a top. All transformations are great!
My gosh! I’ve just pulled apart an upmarket thrifted dress to make an outfit for my granddaughter, I was also surprised by how badly made it was.
Your t-shirt is just gorgeous and the top looks great too
Thank you for this video! I had just collected some dresses that I had thought I would make some tops out of and your timing for me was perfect!
love your work!
Very impressive! All makes look lovely on you; I'd be pleased with any of them. The jacket looks so nice, I'm sorry you're not pleased to wear it.

We missed you last week ❤
Alex, hello there! I was so sick last week, when it rains it pours! All is good now, but that's why there was no video last week
Well done and so many ideas...Thank you
Call me crazy, but I really like the jacket! I’ve course I’m not listening to it as you move around…

I can't feel the fabric, but... visually it's a very nice jacket. I loved the other two upcycles, I've made some similar ones.
