Discreet same fabric buttons. If haven't enough frog closures, this way you options of wearing will not be limited. You can accessorize with any metals or colors .the design features will boldly be the focal point of the jacket
I love that you introduced the pleated part-of the skirt as the front jacket . It was a clever idea , you are very creative Alisa and determine young lady .
Amazing work! The finished seams on the inside are just exquisite. I think I would go for understated buttons on it if I were you, nothing too flashy. You can dress it up or down with whatever else you might be wearing.
Wow, what a beautiful jacket. Love the pleating and shirting detail. It makes it look very haute couture. For the closure I actually love it the way it is, but brass buttons would look great. I've just discovered thrift flipping and love that you are doing these videos. Please do more! We all have clothes in our closets that could be flipped to become more useful again. Great video as usual! 😁
I'm watching this a second time. This flip was absolutely captivating! I loved it when you made the floral jacket. That fabric looks like it has great weight and texture. But this!!!!! I couldn't believe that I was feeling anxiety for you as you tried to problem-solve and needed every tiny bit of fabric! And then you had to bind the edges! And so much by hand!! Talk about a "make it work" project! But it's just stunning. So clean and beautiful inside and out (like its maker :). I think if this were on Project Runway, it would knock over the judges. It looks so high-end and expensive, Alisa. You made denim look like it cost thousands. Congratulations and thank you so much for sharing this!!
Thank you SEW much! Have I ever mentioned that I wanted to audition for Project Runway? I would absolutely love to experience it and get to be in a "real" work room, and all of the materials and models + the feedback.... ah, a girl can dream :)
@@ThoughtfulCreativity You would be great! It would be difficult for you to do those little spotlight chats where they want people to say derogatory things about other contestants, though. You are much to professional and polished to indulge in that, I believe. But, otherwise, you would be amazing on that show!
I think this just turned out beautifully. What a classy little jacket. I would use buttons that are very understated and match the jacket as closely as possible.
The finished seams would make a great look on another garment, maybe a swirl skirt. Or a tube skirt with a flare ar the hem. Those bias bindings are worth a repeat!
Wowwww....this is by far one of the most impressive I've seen lately. Both for the ammezing result but even more for the creative way of reusing the fabric. I really loved!!!
You are a genius! Perfect fit too! Personally I think buttons will distract from the overall look of the garment. The showcase is the beautiful pleating in the front. Eliminate the buttons or perhaps eyelet closure. Something to consider. 😉 Maria
I like the look with out buttons or clasp. For me if I wanted it to wear it closed, I would put hidden buttons on the inside on both sides and use ➰ closer. Again I like it just the way it is. You made a classic jacket. You can dress it up or wear it casually. 👍🙂
Oh my goodness It's beautiful No buttons down the front And brushed nickel color buttons for the sleeves Again beautiful and loveee this jacket And this video...my positive start to my Saturday morning with tea Enjoy this channel soooooo much !!!
Honestly, I think it looks great like it is. I think you can wear more shirts (with ties) and it wouldn't fight with a jacket clasp. It is more versatile to me plain. Great work!
Great flip! Definitely some kind of metal button -I think silver would really pop on that denim fabiric make a subtle statement and it would visually set it miles apart from the floral jacket!
This jacket came out soooo smart.i would not put any buttons on.just leave it as is. Amazing how easy you make it look to do Baie.i can not for the life of me get it right. I always have to stick with machine the one side and by hand the other
WOW, I love what you did! As far as closure options, you might want to think about zippers. You could put in one that is hidden or go with a large tooth plastic zipper for a more casual look or even go with a metal zipper for a little 'show.'
I absolutely love this jacket. It is absolutely amazing. I know you put a lot of time and effort into this project but it was certainly well worth it. Absolutely gorgeous
A beautiful jacket, beautifully finished. I think a self covered or dark button would look good, perhaps with a looped braided/cord closure (if you know what I mean!). I love it!
It's really great and something special. Since the jacket has got a lot of details I would go for simple buttons. Dark blue. Or I would leave it open. I think it would look great without. Just the straight edge.
STUNNING. Love the finishing work! I'd go with matching blue buttons or concealed snaps so as not to take away from the gorgeous pleat detailing. Whatever you end up using for closures, I'm sure it'll be beautiful!
Wow, I love it! You are a perfectionist, and your work shows that talent. I love that you kept the pleating detail. I've not seen anyone on RUclips with your skill set. Awesome!
Btw, I love your sweet little voice. Squeaky. I was looking for a kimono pattern in search, and you popped up, from there I binged and will be here forever! Thanks. I love pattern making.
what a creative and clever way to use this foldet fabric for a complete new look. I like that a lot, it also reminds me of a biker jacket. and I'm always happy when I find something different like this upcycling. you nailed it 💯 👌🏼 thank you so much 💐
Wow, this is sharp! You did a wonderful job. I love the bias binding inside it really elevates the finished project. I think a simple clasp at the top will do nicely. You could do a cardigan clasp but I like the idea of a frog in the same color.
That is an amazing transformation! You have SO much patience and persistence that carried you through that process. I love the tailored look of it. Maybe would add some buttons, but it’s whatever look you’re going for. I just haven’t had much success in garment making, so I’m in awe of your skills! Thanks for sharing.
Hi Alisa. I absolutely love it. It's one of the most beautiful jackets I've seen in a long time. The pleats at the front work well and are a touch of designer luxury. You wouldn't think that it is upcycled, everything about it looks intended. I agree with some of the comments on here. I would leave it as an edge to edge jacket, just putting dark blue buttons on the cuffs and leaving the front without any fastening. Take care and I hope you do many more of this type of content, it's very informative and you are great at teaching, I have learnt a lot from you. Thank you for that. 🇬🇧
Amazing. No closures necessary. Very couture. You are inspiring me. Have a piece of denim and I might just copy(Flattery!!) the pleating Thank you for this
Wow chefs Kiss realy double cool because it ware already garments🥰🤩. For buttons...oh i think the jacket is to nice for theme😅...they have to be realy in style...maybe both sides nice old gold or old metal coloured ones a row on ider side and with some nice denim or leatherlook loops . Ore a realy nice more chunky metal zipper with nice zipperpull. 🤩💗
Beautiful jacket you came up with. Very classic styling. I just finished a quilted jacket the other day, (from old pieces I had sewn up), thought it was going to be a no brainer, but took longer than I thought with the hong kong seams and hand-stitching down all the bias tape. I had not done that much hand stitching in ages, and it was so darn relaxing. Love these re-makes you do, keep them coming and thanks for all of your hard work.
This is absolutely amazing! Your voice sound sweet and kind. When watch you I get a touch of excitement and energy that I haven’t felt since I was younger.. thank you sooo much.
You can do it! Just start simple, as you mentioned, and do it with practice fabric so that way you don't stress out and allow room for seeing what works for you sewing wise :)
Your jacket turned out awesome! The pleats are definitely addition and an attractive look to the jacket. I think a bold gold or a silver zipper would be an addition and a attractive bling!
I love upcycling it's actually really fun. I truly love that pleating, so pretty & very neat..!! That jacket is so pretty..!! I have an black jogger hoodie but it's tight around my arms so I wanna replace the sleeves with looser movable sleeves. And I wanna use different fabric..!!
I absolutely love your jacket, even the finished inside seams are beautiful with that binding . As for buttons, I am one of those people that need to place a few on to see what it would look like first but It's such a classy and stylish jacket I do tend to feel the jacket is the feature. You are an inspiration ❤
What a gorgeous jacket! You are such a delightful talent. I don't think it needs buttons, but it does have a whisper of a military look so maybe brass buttons if you feel you have to have a closure. I like it without because you can style in various ways without any additional embellishments and now that I think about it I think buttons would detract from all of the beautiful detail.
It will great witnout any fastenings too. Buttons and buttonholes will make the Jacket too close and the material fray easily. No more cuttings on the jacket 😮😊.
What kind of buttons or closures would you use for it?
Gold clasps or military buttons.
Fabric covered buttons if you have enough scraps! I'll do it for you. :)
Discreet same fabric buttons. If haven't enough frog closures, this way you options of wearing will not be limited. You can accessorize with any metals or colors .the design features will boldly be the focal point of the jacket
Gold snaps! They'd make a nice pop of contrast detail
Wooden buttons?
Well done!!! Exuisite details, but NO buttons...they would take the magic of the front piece away....
Oh, WOW!!! It's so elegant! So trendy!
Your seam finishing! Beautiful!
Oh my goodness. This is designer stuff. It's absolutely gorgeous and chic. That pleating and colour choice of the denim.
Wow the jacket looks great.
Denim jacket is so classy!! Wear it with pride.
Love the jacket - it doesn't need buttons - looks great as it is
I love that you introduced the pleated part-of the skirt as the front jacket . It was a clever idea , you are very creative Alisa and determine young lady .
Lilette, thank you so so much! I love this jacket so much!
Amazing work! The finished seams on the inside are just exquisite. I think I would go for understated buttons on it if I were you, nothing too flashy. You can dress it up or down with whatever else you might be wearing.
Thank you, Michelle! Good thinking on the understated buttons, so that it can really ber very versatile! Thank you!
Yes 100% … since the pleated front element is the main statement of the jacket.. if you put any flashy notion it will take away that statement
It would be fun to see you take a crack at an "unconventional" challenge on this RUclips channel! (Wink, nudge). 🐱
I love pearl buttons, I feel like pearls are always classy.❤
You left me speechless!!!! Amazing!!!
Beautiful! You are so talented!
Wow…that jacket is gorgeous!
I think this just turned out beautifully. What a classy little jacket. I would use buttons that are very understated and match the jacket as closely as possible.
I love watching you work your magic.
Amazing. You definitely have two of the most important ingredients- imagination and skills 🙂😉👍
I love your idea of using old cloths to work on,brilliant
The finished seams would make a great look on another garment, maybe a swirl skirt. Or a tube skirt with a flare ar the hem. Those bias bindings are worth a repeat!
I like it without buttons. Looks great.
WOW!! Absolutely gorgeous! That's a piece of art you can't buy in any store.
Wowwww....this is by far one of the most impressive I've seen lately. Both for the ammezing result but even more for the creative way of reusing the fabric. I really loved!!!
Thank you so much 😀
No buttons, beautiful and eclectic jacket!
Just love how you repurposed two skirts to make a jacket! That's the type of jacket I am wanting to make but with a zip.
Just wow!
not sure if I love more how it looks on the outside or inside! Just gorgeous
What an awesome bespoke jacket. Very clever, very stylish and inspirational.
this jacket is absolutely WOW!
You are a genius! Perfect fit too! Personally I think buttons will distract from the overall look of the garment. The showcase is the beautiful pleating in the front. Eliminate the buttons or perhaps eyelet closure. Something to consider. 😉 Maria

Nice idea for an invisible closure! A large (coat) hook and eye inside would do as well.
This jacket is stunning! Let it shine with inconspicuous closures, if you think you need closures.
I love the contrast of the strip for your bias tape
Amazing, if only I could sew half as good. Bravo.
Oh my goodness
It's beautiful
No buttons down the front
And brushed nickel color buttons for the sleeves
Again beautiful and loveee this jacket
And this video...my positive start to my Saturday morning with tea
Enjoy this channel soooooo much !!!
Leave it like it is. It's perfect.
Thank you, Donna! I think you're right :)
Honestly, I think it looks great like it is. I think you can wear more shirts (with ties) and it wouldn't fight with a jacket clasp. It is more versatile to me plain. Great work!
Renay, good thinking! I have decided on the same, to leave the front open and do buttons only on the cuffs. Thank you! :)
You are so creative and talented. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.💐
Hand sew hidden hook and eye . It’s a classy way of closing up a jacket.
Awesome project. It looks fantastic.
As for buttons, brass military style has my vote
Beautiful on the inside and outside. I love it!
Great flip! Definitely some kind of metal button -I think silver would really pop on that denim fabiric make a subtle statement and it would visually set it miles apart from the floral jacket!
Wowzer! So many ideas! Gorgeous (re)creation!
The jacket is beautiful!
Amazingly beautiful. No buttons needed ❤
Greetings, I love the final piece. I would go with discreet closures. Allow your beautiful detail speak.
This jacket came out soooo smart.i would not put any buttons on.just leave it as is.
Amazing how easy you make it look to do Baie.i can not for the life of me get it right. I always have to stick with machine the one side and by hand the other
I think I would go with plain buttons and let the pleating be the focal point. I love, love, love this series of upcycling videos!
Love the way that navy color looks on you! Beautiful job and creating it, too!
WOW, I love what you did! As far as closure options, you might want to think about zippers. You could put in one that is hidden or go with a large tooth plastic zipper for a more casual look or even go with a metal zipper for a little 'show.'
You are truly a very creative sewist! I love the new jacket and the seam finishes. Very classy. Look forward to more refashioning tutorials. ❤️
I absolutely love this jacket. It is absolutely amazing. I know you put a lot of time and effort into this project but it was certainly well worth it. Absolutely gorgeous
I think simple matching buttons will make the blazer more versatile. Then you could dress it up with accessories.
Stunning! Great job!
A beautiful jacket, beautifully finished. I think a self covered or dark button would look good, perhaps with a looped braided/cord closure (if you know what I mean!). I love it!
Super cute jacket!!! Lovely!!!
That is beautiful!! What a great jacket. Amazing transformation.
It's really great and something special. Since the jacket has got a lot of details I would go for simple buttons. Dark blue. Or I would leave it open. I think it would look great without. Just the straight edge.

Beautiful! Absolutely beautiful jacket. I love it.
A discreet loop and button, or something, at the neck or no buttons at all.
You've got so many choices for closures or buttons!!! What a dilemma!
Wow, I love it! You are a perfectionist, and your work shows that talent. I love that you kept the pleating detail. I've not seen anyone on RUclips with your skill set. Awesome!
Doesn't need closures. Perfect as is.
Btw, I love your sweet little voice. Squeaky. I was looking for a kimono pattern in search, and you popped up, from there I binged and will be here forever! Thanks. I love pattern making.
That is a adorable jacket. I love that pleated look on the front😊
The piecing really looks amazing! I think you should do metal buttons
I like it without any buttons. Great job!
That jacket is really beautiful work! I very much enjoyed watching this video!

Tha k you so much and I am so happy you enjoyed it! :) Welcome to the channel and I hope you find plenty more inspiration :)
Wow, this is sharp! You did a wonderful job. I love the bias binding inside it really elevates the finished project. I think a simple clasp at the top will do nicely. You could do a cardigan clasp but I like the idea of a frog in the same color.

I love the Hong Kong finish! Love the pleats!
Oh love the pleated skirt
Thank you!
Beautiful jacket. I would use simple silver buttons but it looks great even without.
Wow! Also the navy really suits you.
I love navy color! Thank you so much!
Wow! Very beautiful!

You can do it! Just start simple, as you mentioned, and do it with practice fabric so that way you don't stress out and allow room for seeing what works for you sewing wise :)
Stunning jacket, well done. I like it without buttons 😍
Love love this your work paid off,the pleats in the front made it stand out
Thank you, I think so too!
What an exquisite garment!!! Congratulations!
Amazing and unique jacket. Beautiful work!
/////i think an understated closure I love the pleating so much I think I will be using it xx
Your jacket turned out awesome! The pleats are definitely addition and an attractive look to the jacket. I think a bold gold or a silver zipper would be an addition and a attractive bling!

It's wonderful! Well done! Personally, I think round metal buttons (even snaps) would finish it off perfectly 👌
Wow! Fabulous work! I’d put buttons or snaps on the cuffs but not on the front.
Love that!
I absolutely love your jacket, even the finished inside seams are beautiful with that binding .
As for buttons, I am one of those people that need to place a few on to see what it would look like first but It's such a classy and stylish jacket I do tend to feel the jacket is the feature.

So so amazingly cute and so professionally looking too. Love it! Great work! Congrats 👏

You're going to get the jacket. You're CREATIVE 😅.
You make it look so easy!! Turned out superb!!
