    I had planned on doing some photo engravings today. I’m pretty sure that my phone can read my mind. I’m looking forward to experimenting with Gimp. Thanks for the tips.

    I had to do a little adjusting once I got my photo into Lightburn but these are some of the nicest, clearest photos I have made. I’m sure every photo takes a different sort of tweaking but I’m looking forward to trying some more using Gimp. Thanks again.

    Would you do the same thing if you wanted to print on metal. ( gold, silver, brass). I'm trying on a Orotig 20w RR Writer.

      I do not know. The engraver I use doesn't do metal. Epilog Helix. It would be worth a try. If you are try please share. I would love to know.

      Yeah, a lot of times it depends on the picture and the right settings.

    Is there a way to add color to the engraving?

    What laser program are you using

    • @Tfill27productions
      @Tfill27productions  2 года назад

      No laser program is being used with this. We have Epilog Helix/Mini systems at my school and I will print them directly from Adobe Reader, Illustrator, even Microsoft Word. Although, I don't print directly from Inkscape because there is some kind glitch that won't work correctly. So I will design whatever I want in Inkscape, save as a .pdf and the open in Adobe Reader and print it from there.

    It does not work

    • @Tfill27productions
      @Tfill27productions  2 года назад +1

      It depends on the picture and how you set it up. It takes a lot of troubleshooting to get it right. To say "it does not work" is a fallacy and very negative. You have to play around with your settings. I will go through a few scraps of wood before I find the setting that gives me a satisfactory engraving before I make a final engrave. But this is NOT the "only" way you can setup an image for engraving. This is just one way that I have been successful with. Thank you for the feedback anyway.
