Hello.I use 10mm plywood but engraving with T2 Laser in Greyscale is dissapointing and driving me crazy.Did you try on plywood and if you did which settings you set on software
To get greyscale done right you need to to some testing first. I'd start with a nice moderate speed somewhere between 1000 to 1500 mm/min. Then click on the help drop down and load the grayscale bar. Adjust your power level until you can see a gradient from light to dark. You may very well need to turn down your max power. Keep you speed constant and just adjust your power until you see a nice gradient. Then use those settings to try a greyscale image. This process will burn though a bit of scrap so always buy extra when you change materials.
Can you help me set up my program and laser to burn a decent greyscale image. I have looked, I have asked on the forums and it's still not coming out the way I want.

I was able to get a partially greyscaled burn with this video, so Thank you for that. I don't know, could it be the image that I am using? I tried editing it a bit more last night, but it has a lot of different tones of gray and black.
Okay, so I have done 6 of the greyscale gauge .png that you can find in the help section, starting at 2500 all the way down to 800. No matter what settings I use the 0% to 20% are not showing up in the burn, 20% to 100% you can see the slight variations to the darkness. Is there another setting I can enable to try and get that last 10% (10-20) to show up?
hii, im just 15yrs.... im trying to help one of my friend's work.. they didnt do even one of those... bcz they didnt made the picture successfully. so i thought to help.. but even i dont knw to do this kind of engrraving but i have a good knowledge of softwares and programming... so can u help me to do from the beginning.. can i get help.. expecting to do a lot...pls 😊

Everything/Anything to do with GIMP and I believe you were dabbling in Inkscape as well...I'd be very interested in learning more about Inkscape.
oh yeah i could do alot with inkscape and GIMP. They are great programs but difficult to navigate at first.
Love inkscape got a 2.5mw lots of playing going on like the vid subscribing now

Nice video.
Clear acrylic can't be engraved with a diode laser unless you paint it. Other colors of acrylic do work though.
