Bendiciones! Oh my gosh! YES!!! One of the top orishas venerated in my home. He is my dads' santo... and I think I inherited him. Despite being child of Elegua, Babalu in his St.Lazarus form helps me a lot too. Very shocking, learned by mistake really how this orisha manifest himself tome a lot and helps whenever possible. I just was so down financially, only had $4 to do my lottery tickets, and I asked Babalu to help me, and he answered with a winning ticket. It wasn't a big win, but was enough to pay off my dues and get stuff for the house. So yeah Babalu isn't just for disease of the body but also the disease of poverty itself. 🙏Ase!

In the movie... They Cloned Tyrone... the character named Slick Charles almost directly maps to Babalú Ayé... In the movie he's a pimp... he wears the colors of Babalú Ayé... he mocks a guy because of his skin then kills him (accidentally)... he has 3 bit**es (female dogs) that he calls his flowers and work for him and lives with him in a hotel (outside of a home)... one of them is shown taking care of his fingernail cuticles (dead skin)... he drinks liquor a lot... In one scene he's seen stretching or dancing looking strange... The parking lot outside the hotel has purple lights... and... other orishas are also represented in the movie... Fontaine is Ogun... Yo-Yo is Oshun... Frog is Orunmila... and June Bug is Eshu... Does no one else see this???... Fon is the name of the West-African People and their language... This is where the Orishas originated from... Tain means "to hold" originally... forming the name of the main character FonTaine... The Orishas represented in the movie have their colors objects personalities and relationships that map from the character in the movie directly to their related Orisha... Watch the movie... or... watch it again.. to see that which is seen but unseen.

The Pataki of God and devil making a bet on Babalu Aye, is such in synchrony with the story of Job in some instances in the bible.

The entire time I was listening I kept hearing the phrase “order of nature”. Comfort and the lack of challenges would be an ideal life but it’s not real. When we face things like sickness and death it truly is a moment where you either swim or sink! That is a very real part of the journey we incarnated to live out. This was such a direct episode about Babalu Aye. He was humanized to me in a very unique way. Thank you for your transparency and sharing your experiences too!

Love the education being imparted here. Goes back to your come Baba. Perhaps it is the catholic saints or icons that are synchronized with the Orishas.

Babalu came from Cuba. Babalu was a playful god. There were many. This is another made-up fairytale. We liked the song, we sang it. The song is in the Spanish language, and it always was. The USA Blacks are ridiculous with fairytale. It's just a popular song in the Latino community. Latinos don't think like USA Black ppl, and neither do the Afro Latinos. We don't practice separatism.
