yeah, mine is fairly sparse on the cheeks and it's dark, so it's really noticeable which is a shame. I'm at like 2.5 months and I don't think any amount of length or product is going to help, but I finally just said fk it. I'm going to let it go for 4 to 6 months at least and just see where it lands. I'll probably end up with a decent Van Dyke when decide to trim it. I've thought about minoxidil but I'm not sure I'm comfortable with the potential side effects. Might just be better to accept what I have and learn to be happy with it lol

It still looks bad, but i can grow a fantastic vandyke, which is what I'm going to have to settle with lol. One side is fuller than the other for me, but bald spots did not fill in for me, even with minoxidil.
No to hairspray and clay. Hairspray imo dries out your beard and add the combo of clay and you've got a heavy dense mess on your face that feels awful. Oil and balm is all that's required to keep it healthy, tamed and soft to the touch.
I can see your point...and there is definitely some truth it in, however...I find that using a good quality beard oil to start will prevent it from any damage...and the clay? It has to be natural. I try to only use the best products in my beard. This may not be for every occasion but it will definitely help make a patchy beard look thicker.

I can see tell they are growing. This is the first time I’ve actually let them grow out without shaving or anything. And they definitely show promise. Every time I let it grow, more hairs sprout out. I use Murray's Beeswax Pomad for pretty much everything. My hair, my precious Mustache Curls and my beard. I start by drying and combing. I pomade my hair, then the remainder goes onto my beard. Mustache get's it's own treatment. The thing is that the Pomade helps hide that I messed up my line under my jaw and one side is a little thinner than the other. The pomade keeps it all dense together, and hides that I haven't had it trimmed or groomed propperly in a long time. Loving my beard and i'm finally ready with 3 inches of length to go have it propperly groomed. As of right now my only debate is between going Pompadour which actually looks very well on men, or keep growing my hair. I'm at 9 inches of hair maybe? Bangs going below the nose just a tad.
Pro tip. If you have a patchy beard just pull some hair off your butt and rub it onto the weaker spots of your beard. This is gonna help get those lacking area's growing nice and quick.

Another more effective way to improve your beard growth is using beard supplements like Vitabeard or Optimal Effects. I personally have seen an incredible amount of improvement in the thickness of my hair with Vitabeard.
Oh forgot I train my beard to cover the patch I twist the hair from my cheek and my chin to cover the patch . Funny thing is left side of my face is great no issues. I have being growing my beard for 18 months. I have never combed it or trimmed it. Its a bit of a mess really. Parts of it are very long and in other parts its not. Under neath my lip is a bit like yours. Underneath my chin the length is a good 5 or 6 inches long as is down the sides of my chin. the front of my chin is an inch or so in parts. I dont know what to do with it. I will try some beard products and hopefully it wont look as wild

Very true...eating right and getting the right amount of exercise will definitely help a beard look its best...You may not see the results immediately after changing your diet, but it'll show over time. It's all in the "long game".

I've been able to grow a full beard since 14 Had a full head of curly hair as well till about 18 You win some you lose some This is the first time I've ever grown my beard out beyond a trimmed "beard strap" and I've notice at short length it looks nice and full but man as it grows long my beard is patchy under my chin. I've been able to fix it however just got to comb the left and right parts of my chin towards the center and it looks perfectly fine but in the mornings lol.... Work with what you got may not be great but I would probably trade my beard for a full head of hair any day.

It's not totally necessary to use wax as well. If you're using the Utility Balm currently, you might want to give the styling balm a go. It offers more hold and has a waxier texture. -Parker

A pet peeve of mine is all of the kids around me who have facial hair as well (not as much as mine) and they look like idiots because of how they shave. THEY WILL NOT GROW A MUSTACHE. Hairspray?! Clay?! Come on... This is only going to make your beard look thinner in the long run... Beard balm mixed in with mustache wax can be a better alternative to any head hair styling products. And if you want it to stay in place, there is the Uppercut beard balm that has great hold. Granted, you're using Hanz De Fuko clay (if I recognise the jar correctly), which doesn't have any bad chemicals, it's still meant for the structure that the hair on your head has, not for the one of your beard.
4 products on top of each other?. Also, a brush will wreck a beard no different than a brush will wreck hair, which is well known. Guys with thick beards can get away with using one but if you have a thin beard, a good quality acetate comb is best. Also we need someone on the channel who actually has a thin patchy beard!

Beard balm mixed in with mustache wax can be a better alternative to any head hair styling products. And if you want it to stay in place, there is the Uppercut beard balm that has great hold. Granted, you're using Hanz De Fuko clay (if I recognise the jar correctly), which doesn't have any bad chemicals, it's still meant for the structure that the hair on your head has, not for the one of your beard.

4 products on top of each other?. Also, a brush will wreck a beard no different than a brush will wreck hair, which is well known. Guys with thick beards can get away with using one but if you have a thin beard, a good quality acetate comb is best.
