Magnificent...! Full credit for a great restoration. Even back in the day, LX SL/R's weren't exactly common. Thanks for not turning it into another SLR5000/A9X copy. Congratulations on superb work 😁👍
Awesome clip and build .. Flooded back so many memories .. I had a factory tangerine 4.2 20 years ago and loved every minute of it ... They are understated and nimble as and a true prize .. Thank you for sharing
Being in old cars is a bit like being in a time machine, takes you right back. For me, rode in parents and mates Toranas back in the 80s and 90s, they really lasted well if looked after!
mate that is one of the best time laps builds ive seen yet congrats on the immaculate result. was good to see you getting your son involved at least now when his older he will blow all his money on cars not drugs 👌👌
Thanks mate. Cam is a Crow Cams 5665. It's the same grind I had in a 253 back in the early 90's. With 4 barrel carb, electronic dizzy and good exhaust, it really rips.
+Ben “Benelenium” Adams I bought the car 6 years ago. In today's money you won't get that for under 12k and paint & panel like that, by a pro, would be another 10K. It adds up quick, but if you keep it long term, it's more than worth it.
Automatic SLR's were common. It was an option back in the day. Mine is factory manual but a previous owner converted it to automatic for his wife to drive 😄
Magnificent...!

Many here have already said; Full credit for doing it the right way, Restored, not another 'looker'.
Nice job, well done.

Awesome job mate! I hope you and your young bloke enjoy it for years to come!

Absolutely gorgeous! So good to see a real resto, and not a resto mod. Such a credit to you.
All resto are great to see love them all no jugging
Well done - nice to see a original restoration and in under 4 minutes and says it all

Cheers mate. I enjoy the car build as much as the video production. One takes a lot longer though! :D
you stole my user name considering I’ve had it for six years 🧐
A good authentic restoration, grats and enjoy.
Great build and quality resto. glad to see it is driven, even in the rain. looked fantastic at MCM 2018. good for another 40 years !
It killed me to drive it in the rain, but I always said I would from day 1!
Such beautiful work. That car looks amazing.
Well done, nice looking car! a lot of work but worth it!
Mate, great vid, really nice quality build. 253 is a great little donk and one of the sweetest sounding 8's.
I agree..the first V8 I ever owned was a HG Kingswood with a factory 253. one of the best cars I've ever owned. (except for my FJ )
Love it, nice Torana
Bloody top work mate, absolutely love it. My dream in 4mins right there . yeewwww . cant wait to show the misses ( will help her understand ) lol .
Well done mate
Nice interior
good job... 👍
Hey mate just found your channel and love the build. What cam did you put in the little 253?
Thanks mate. Cam is a Crow Cams 5665. It's the same grind I had in a 253 back in the early 90's. With 4 barrel carb, electronic dizzy and good exhaust, it really rips.
Beautiful
Hi nice job on the car . Have you got sl/r hubcaps? Cheers
I do have a set in storage. Very hard to come by these days.
good to see an original resto. did you put the hub caps on that are in the vid?
I did, then broke one a few months later. Took them all off now for safe keeping.
Nice job bro :)
How much did the car cost to buy and restore?
Thinking of doing a similar restore myself

What the name of the original Orange colour if you don't mind me asking , As i always like that shade of Orange .. the car look great too..........
Original Holden colour called 'Papaya'.
Very nicely done but slr's where never released as a T bar auto , don't know where that came from

nice
Steel SLR badges and that style stripes tells me it is a 202 SLR
253 SL/R had the same. SL/R 5000 were different.
what title this song
Sweet love it but hate the white walls
Nice
Great but should have put a spoiler on to make it look TANK
Lucas Kerr nah lofty that would wreck it
Time,money and patience.
You've done it the way it should be, back to original
Needs Bobtail and SLR lettering down sides, but otherwise, Amazing!
Is that like the Australian Virgin of a vaga not familiar with it
Looks similar in certain areas but not based on that car. I've heard that before though.
