    I'm calling 44 wins and a playoff berth. Gotta aim high! As professional athletes, they should be reaching for the absolute max!

      44 is quite possible, but not if they decide to play Stewart a lot. If they play Stewart a lot, no more than 20 wins.
      Klintman made multiple 3's in 4 of the summer league games, got 4 assists per game, and did everything else well too. While Reed played mostly backup center for Philly last year, he certainly can also play at pf some for us. Harris will be starting at power forward. We can use Thompson at pf. No reason at all to play Stewart any at pf. Why play Stewart any at center? We've already seen he just can't play center, as he offers no helpside rim protection. Reed can be our backup to Duren, and we could even use Tolu Smith from the summer league there; among many other possibilities. On the other hand, the owner could overide all common sense, and insist Stewart play because he is a fan favorite. In which case, forget seeing more than 20 wins.

      @user-dx3di8mh8r Stewart is a hustle man. Dog off the bench. When he gets stronger and athletic, he'll be the sure starter

    It's hard to take these guys seriously when they don't understand Ivey can still start and be staggered with Cade. When Cade sits, Ivey slides down to the point, and Beasley comes in. It's like how Joe D would play the 1 when Zeke sat and Vinnie came in, they just called it a 3 guard rotation instead of staggering. Mind blowing that pistons fans wouldn't get the concept when it was a major feature of our greatest team.

    Ivey is our second best player.. people are only looking at how he fits with Cade.. Cade needs to also make room for him because he’s our future not Beasley or THJ.. I think Beard has it flip flopped because we already know what we are getting with Beasley and THJ we have to find out where Ivey is in his development. cuz his ceiling is so much higher than both of them. starting line up should be Cade, Ivey, Simone, Harris, Duren

    • @LeeSohlden
      @LeeSohlden 3 месяца назад +1

      People seem to have forgotten the 28 game losing streak, brought upon by not starting Ivey. Short memories; but they say people tend to forget pain.
      We should at least try Cade, Ivey, Fontecchio, Harris, Duren as our starting unit. Cade hands it off to Ivey, spots up for a 3. Harris and Fontecchio are further spreading the floor to help enable Ivey to thrive on his drive. Duren is being a lob threat, another target for the slick passing Ivey. A bucket, time after time. Defensively suspect, but certainly not that bad compared to suffering Bogey's defense last season.

      @@LeeSohlden yep exactly it was such a misguided cluster fuck of a team with zero leadership and direction.. Killian starting is just one glaring example of that… I think having a whole new system and experienced consistent floor leader like Tobias will bold well for their development.. but it’s like it’s great we got these good vets that shoot better than the young guys but they aren’t even close to being our foundation going forward they are here to company the young core we have… also all these young guys are going to get better going through that terrible experience with no foundation.. it will be good for them to see and know the difference how it is with a good situation around them.. also Ivey shoots like 34 percent from three amongst this cluster fuck he’s not that bad lol people are just so impatient.. if we are going uppidity and bench him we might as well trade him and get it over with cuz that’s basically giving up on him…

    For the Pistons everything depends on the improvements of Ivey, Thompson, Sasser, Stewart, Duren etc.. If Ivey has been in the gym all summer fixing that broken, no confidence shot, the Pistons can win 35 to 37 games.

      People love to have scape goats. But as you rightly observed, not one bit of fault was on Ivey. I said to begin last season, if they relied on Stewart and Hayes to be big parts of the rotation, a 20 win season was in store. They did, and well, not even 20 wins. On the other hand, they could have made the playoffs if they ditched those two immediately.
