You want Duren to do better on defense? Put Reed along side him, so he has proper help. Like you said, defense is a team endeavor. Last year, he had Stewart, who lacked both height and athleticism, or if Stewart was off the floor, no true big at all. You just can't look too good on D, if you are basically being told "do it all yourself." A starting unit of Cade, Ivey, Harris, Reed, Duren should work pretty well. Harris and Reed already know each other and should be able to quickly teach Duren how to work with them, on both O, and D. This leaves, as a possible second unit: Sasser, Beasley, Fontecchio, Thompson, with Duren and Reed splitting most of the backup center minutes. (I'd suggest picking up someone like Tolu Smith for some of the center minutes.)

It would be nice if they overachieved and were in the hunt for the play-in. I'm just hoping for development and some much stronger 4th quarters.

Holland said the right things. Come in, work hard, listen to what the coaches are saying but stay true to what he does. Will be interested to see what type of role they are looking for him to fill & can he earn rotation minutes. Glad to hear him say that he knows defense can help him get on the floor.

Dig. The first few games were going to be an adjustment anyway. We were going to lose no matter who we played. So play good teams right off jump. Then, as we start to get a rhythm, the schedule will get a little easier. This could be a blessing.

We Hustle Different!! Playing time on the Pistons is based purely on production during games, not on who supposedly needs development more. Each player has equal minutes of Development Time since that time is not during games.

A commitment to Continuous Improvement is a requirement to be a Pistons player, and Duren and Stew show great learning curves. If they were winning, the same moves they're using now would be called Signature Moves.

I've seen both Stew and Duren be able to consistently get in 3 pump fakes in 0.05 seconds... or less... after getting the ball Down Deep.

I would argue that Duren has just as much development left as Ivey. He is a roll man center who can’t stretch the floor and is one of the worst big man defenders in the league.

I just have an issue with a lot of the writers that just hate on Ivey for reasons that he can’t do anything about. He was given a bad hand and he wasn’t able to do enough to have eveyone say good things about him. The only reason I said anything was I was already disappointed when I read that report in the morning and then to see you guys report on it was tough. I get it you have to report what’s out there and I know you stuck up for Ivey in your other podcast but when I heard that you guys kinda agreed that if anyone was going to get traded it would be Ivey I just felt really bad. All of the good teams, their best player(s) can hit the three, if not their best three point shooters. If Cunningham can continue to improve his three point shot, then Ivey can be a better fit. Why do we always have to look for someone that shoots threes to play along Cade? Cade can solve the “fit” problem himself. You always hear that Cade can play with anybody, but in reality he can’t. Not until he is deadly shooter himself.

Ivey is my favorite piston. If he leaves im never watching another game
