  • In this video, I challenge myself to list my picks for best and/or favorite scotch whiskies for every letter of the alphabet, A to Z. To keep things reasonable, I capped the price for each bottle at $200. Some of these letters were challenging because there were so many choices, some hardly had any. As we get deep in the alphabet, the difficulty increases. So, check out my picks, and let me know what you would have put on your list in the comments.

Hi, very nice selection, lot of them known to me and really enjoyable. Just a recommendation for F = Fettercairn, e.g. the 16 years releases. For “G” l also like Glen Grant 15, for “B” l would go for Benromach 15. My favorite from Islay is currently the Port Charlotte 10 and for Kilchoman it would be the Sanaig. Lagavulin 16 is a very good, but also the Ledaig 10 is a really nice one. “O” would be Oban 14, don’t know the Old Pulteney, but is on my list now. “S” Springbank 10 very good one, but due to the hype a very high price for a 10 years old whisky, Speyburn 15 is also a very good candidate. Of course would also have a lot of other whisky’s mind and difficult to select just one for each letter.
I enjoy your videos and wish you a great evening and weekend. Take care and greetings from Germany

Some really good picks, here. Almost included Fettercairn, but we don't get the 16 year release in the US. Guten Abend.

This was super interesting and has gotten me thinking. For the letter I my selection would be Invergordon. They just had a big drop in my area of a bunch of different age ranges. The 18 year is a good one I’ve been told.

I'm intrigued. That one's hard to come by in the US, outside of independent bottlings.

Cool! A game - let's play 😄 I watched your intro but then stopped the vid to make my own list. I wonder how it will compare with yours? My selections are the distilleries that first popped into my mind in each case, usually my favourites or what I've opened recently. Not necessarily the most famous but I have tasted all of them, with one exception. Some choices were hard (Benromach or Ben Nevis? Hmmm) others were pretty restricted.
Arran Amarone Cask Finish, Ben Nevis 10, Clynelish 14, Dailuaine 16, Eden Mill 2018 Release (it's still available), Fettercairn 16, Glenfarclas 25 (there are SO MANY "G" distilleries!), Highland Park 18, Isle of Raasay (is that cheating? 😉), Jura 12, Kilchoman Sanaig (or Loch Gorm), Lochlea Sowing Edition, Mortlach 16, Nc'nean Organic (the only "N" I can think of), Oban Distillers Edition, [Old] Pulteney 18 (I would say 21 but it is no more 😫), Tamdhu Quercus Alba (ha ha cheating again), Roseisle 12, Springbank 12 (any batch if you can find it), Talisker 18, Uilebheist new-make (not tasted it yet but going there next year), Wolfburn Langskip.
I couldn't think of any malts for V, X, Y or Z - probably because these letters are not in the Gaelic alphabet (or in Norse futhark, I think). So cheating again, how about:
V - anything from Signatory *Vintage
    X - Glenmorangie *X
Y - *Yoichi (it would not exist without direct Scottish inspiration 😁)
Z- you've defeated me - I got nothing, except maybe Longrow Red finished in New *Zealand pinot casks 🤣
    Slainte 🥃

Ha Ha, OK just watched the rest of the vid and you mixed it up with names and titles as well so I feel justified with some of my questionable ones now. Y and Z were stretching things a bit tight, mind you 😃 Good fun.
