    The Scultura Endurance GR is the gravel race bike from Merida. This is aimed more at long-distance or multi-day rides, with its more MTB'ish geometry.

    I have this bike on order because of the advanture style gravelbike. I like ike packing and see the bennefit of bigger brakediscs. Wonderfull quick review, you cleraly point out quirks of this bike witch is a positive! In the end that made me decide to go for this bike (looks good too in my opinion)

    Could be a good option for 'UK' gravel? Does it ride well on the road?

    Another enjoyable review David. Aesthetically, this new frame is much better IMHO and I think the new models will be much more popular. I look forward to seeing it in the flesh.

    I like this design but is there anything stopping water tracking down that top cap routing and trashing both headset bearings in short order in 'normal' UK conditions?

    One of the first things I did was to put 180 front and 160 rear on my bike. Came in useful a couple of times, with a couple of times when I clearly wished I had even more. Then again, I took the bike on multiple rides involving MTB trails at least part of the way. Took it out to MTB trails specifically as well, to se how it would fair.
    That being said, I for one love the higher sterrer tube and uprighter sitting position of old Silex. They should have slackened that headtube as they did, but kept it long.
    Ramblers afe for me THE TIRE to have if tou just want to go wherever.

      @alexschiefer7359 Год назад

      Just from the specs i think this one is more appealing due to the possibility of fitting a dropper and suspension fork. I was kind of irritated as you said in the adler video, that the silex is less comfortable because the silex has a carbon seat post and the adler one out of alluminium

    • @davidarthur
      @davidarthur  Год назад +1

      @@alexschiefer7359 You could fit a fork and dropper to the Adlar as well. The bigger tyres on the Adlar are a bonus and definitely contribute to the comfort over the Silex

    Its following the pattern of a Stigmata. That bike is proven in racing. Just maybe the European model of a race bike isn't actually required or suited to the type of racing that is more reflective of US races.

    I don't really get why they didn't go for a bigger tyre clearance to be honest. Is it because at Merida they think a 45+ clearance is just a trend and it doesn't make any sense for a gravel bike? Do they presume the whole gravel market will go back to smaller tyre clearance in the near future?

      My aluminium silex clears a 2.2 tire in the back with lots of room to spare, while the fork is safe in my eyes for a 2.0.

      It is. The geometry is just way out of wack. I'm 189 cm and I usually ride a 58cm frame. Large or XL depending on the brand. When I look at the Geo of this bike, the medium is the one that would suit me the most looking at the reach and stack numbers. Even the wheelbase is extremely long at that size. If i took my usual Large it would be way to high and super long with a tiny stem. I could even fit on a small, looking at the stack and reach now.

    • @seanmccuen6970
      @seanmccuen6970 Год назад
