This was great. You are so right - when VMP does it right, it’s lights out. But when they miss…the worst
They seem to focus on the packaging and the pressing seems to be an afterthought. It's nice to know that they can do both. I just wish they did it more consistently!
I ordered the one on the Right myself!! I didn't trust the other for the reasons you mentioned.
My suspicion is they simply took a CD and copied over to a Vinyl record and changed the cover.
Kids that are buying New Vinyl these days don't really care about he Sound Quality to begin with because they're most likely going to play it on their $50-POS Crosley they got from Walmart!
Without a doubt my favourite Beastie Boys album. I need to hear that VMP release now. I think you’ve sold it to me.
If you listen to it a lot on vinyl, it is probably worth the shipping costs.

Great vid. I’ll def check out the VMP version. I just don’t understand why such a beautiful box set would not take care to put out the finest possible release. It tells me the company thinks we fans are suckers.

Interesting! I have the 2009 regular old Capitol reissue which sounds really great. I have no idea the sourcing but I’ve always thought it sounded exceptional. Now considering the VMP to compare the two.
I would really be surprised if the VMP version didn't sound better.
