- Hi every one, here in the UK Crows and Magpies can cause devastating damage to the ground nesting birds we have on our moors for example Curlews, lapwings meadow pipits and many many more, they also predate on the song bird population ,also around lambing time the crows will peck out the eyes of the new born lambs while they are vulnerable just after birth and even at times while the Ewe is giving birth crows will peck out the eyes and tongues of a lamb, so as a pest controller our laws let us control them all year round, here i am using a 223 rifle as the crows and magpies can wise up avoiding traps and keeping out of range of air rifles and shotguns at times. Any disbelievers please feel free to google and see the damage for your self. cheers.

Hello friend . I don’t know if you remember my reference to my Lab ,Marlin. He reminds me so much of Jack . Well all good things come to an end . I lost him a week ago . Yes I’m devistated ,but seeing Jack at the end of the video nearly brought me to tears . God bless the both of you and great shooting by the way . Take care friend .
Awww i am sorry to this Charles also i know my Jack has not got long left as well, if i be honest i cried when i edited Jack in the video at the end and if i watch it again i keep doing it even though he is sat here beside me.

Good as ever, Simon. Your approach to the task in hand is so measured and calm. Went down the ginnel to the pub this teatime for the footy. A lady was filling up her bird feeders and told me of all the song birds that come. Next breath she was chuffed as owt as magpies had built a nest in the overgrown hawthorn opposite. She said all the birds get along together. I'm gonna push some literature thru' their letterbox tomorrow to, hopefully, put them straight.

Lovely to see the star of the show... Jack! You done great too! As always fantastic shooting again. Hitting a 6" bird at 200yds with a 1/4" bullet with drop and wind! I'd be lucky to hit a deer at 200yds. Take care Simon and give Jack a pat for us!

It's always good to see the other wildlife when you are out and about. I enjoyed seeing the fox thinking about taking his chances with those geese! Yes, magpies are a problem and I remember last year a pair of them robbing just about every nest on our street of eggs and chicks. Keep up the good work!

Hey from the Catskills great to see you protecting the livestock. My brother has been seeing foxes on the farm. I’ve been sighting in my 17 HMR will spend some time there soon. It’s bad enough when we lose animals due to illness, predators can not be tolerated . Good show Pisano An extra biscuit to the old General!

Foxes are out our way at the moment. Found a leg of lamb in my field. Happy to say all my stock still have all their legs so must have been from a neighbouring farm. Good video today I like the start with the sunset.

A truly phenomenal vid mate....it's like Christmas come early and a magpie from 240+ yards, your marksmanship is just spectacular and also inspiring. Those Sako rifles are just stunning and the optics you use are amazing to see the clarity through, especially the night-vision. Cracking work as always Simon. Were lambing at the moment, never ceases to amaze me how many foxes it draws in. I usually put a big dent in them in the months preceding. To the point that I rarely see any and with in a couple of weeks it looks like I’ve never been out on them! We lamb everything outside these days.

In ps going out to do some pest control for a friend..he is afraid that his cows are going to break a leg in the many ground hog holes out with the BT 65 fully suppressed to do some rodent control..
Top work, love my Sako varmint85 1/8 twist due to your recommendation, bought the 90 varmint in 308 now too. Great work and nice to hear the Curlew in the background.

Howdy from Sacramento! You are an incredible marksman and a pleasure to watch! I use 40gr Vmax on ground squirrels here in N. California. Very accurate if I do my part out of my Savage 10 FCP-K in 223 Rem. I don't think I've ever connected at the distances you do tho, despite my best efforts.

Magpies lay their eggs in other birds nests. They have arrived on the west coast of North America and are headed east to the Atlantic coast; after following the Russian rail lines for a century; then migrating over the Bering Sea and Bering Straight. As if Cowbirds were not enough …

What always and I mean always amazes me is this, other channels will say e.g 50 yds or 150 yds but when you zoom out of a shot, it’s some distance away, that puts the shooting in a totally different light.

Shot my first long range magpie at 312 yds with my 270 on Saturday using 112grn copper homeload. Wish I had it on film.
