I normally only play survival games, so this is extremely different than my usual. I tried a couple of other vids on this game, one even claiming to be a tutorial, and I was TOTALLY lost! This video explained things so well, and made it look lots of fun also. I'm off to buy it during the spring Steam sale, I just can't resist the excellent price and the super high review ratings. @@DrIncompetent haha well I was definitely undervaluing elite encounters in planning my paths. Won a run last night where I fought all three elites in the first act, which set me up nicely for the rest of the run
Damn nice! Eventhough I know most of the stuff you're explaining since I played in pre-release days for 100 hours I just feel so bad at the game coming back. Still very entertaining though and I'm hoping to learn a lot through the next coming videos (which I can and will just go watch now) Kudos!

Hey thanks for the guide man! I bought this game on my Switch when it went on sale on Black Friday and I’m mega addicted now. It took me 20 runs but I finally beat my first A0 on Ironclad! I’ll be watching the rest of this series so I can confidently compete in the daily challenges 😂
Dude I have no idea what you’re on about the boot is amazing no matter how weak you are you will always be able to do at least 5 damage. It Especially synergizes well with the shivs
Haha, the boot can be okay at times, but it's not my favorite ;) 1 extra damage on shivs is not bad but... Vajra is 1 extra damage on shivs and ALL attacks, not just sub 5 damage attacks, as a comparison.
Hey Dr, I thought i give a little bit of feedback on how i seen this first one guide is going. I will add im a20 runner as you know so my advice or feedback should be taken with some salt as not target group. 1) I do feel you do a good job of describing the matches of the game and how cards work. 2) I kind of feel it help if you could lay out what the goals of the players are early. example. Early on we have strikes and defends, which are weaker cards, so we want fights to get better cards. You did touch on wanting to fight elites for better rewards and it may help to point out early on we want better attacks to take out elites. 3) i love the touch of rarity not equaling power. 4) the relics as passive buffs and being good is a good point but I do feel its worth pointing out having a good deck is great 5) the point on skipps cards is a little at (understandable) but still a good one. I do hope in the future card selection, you can slightly go over why. Overall i think its a pretty ok resource for newer players, but im not the best gauge for that. I do find it close to the style for the Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup guide, which is from a game i have not played but found welcoming (so i guess that speaks well to it).

I'm so glad you have found it to be helpful :D For me, I was able to do the tutorial on PC the first time I booted it up. For these videos, I made a new profile to be able to start again with 0 unlocks so you could see the tutorial!

Recently decided to look into this game since it was on sale for $8 on Switch. Not a HUIGE fan of roguelikes, but wanted to try more types that aren't just the usual Zelda-like dungeon crawlers. lol (so far my favorite one out there being death Road to Canada) Anyways yeah, decided to watch this to see if I can learn something new that I haven't figured out already. lol

BUT: I tried to see what the upgraded version of the 3 cards I can choose from was going to be. But you _can't_ on mobile! Very frustrating for a new player. =(

Just boight the game today, and got my first "win?" With the silent massiv epoison and no discard relic so lots of pasives and dots wihr block stacking whikst it goes
This game makes no sense at all. Constant bad choices for cards. Hand pulls that are nearly all defense or offense, enemies hit incredibly hard considering the low HP and low healing options. I truly don’t understand how anyone plays this game.
