People just need to respect others people opinions. I loved fourth wing but I can see why others didn`t. My co-worker didn`t like it either. It will be one of those books you either love it or hate it.
Nona the Ninth was originally the first act of Alecto! It was made into it’s own book because it was getting a bit chunky and the characters (nona) wouldn’t have had enough time to be fully and impactfully developed with just one act without intruding on the rest of Alecto the Ninth, so that’s probably why it has such a middle-of-the-trilogy or borderline unnecessary feel. I personally loved the book a lot it may not be the best one out of the three but it’s very comforting to me i’m currently on my fourth reread. Also hearing you say Alecto comes out later in 2023 brought so much pain we are fighting in the trenches of Alectopause waiting for an official release date. (it’s been… multiple years)
read this is how you lose the time war i think almost two years ago, and i still think about "i make metaphors to approach the enormous fact of you on slant" ❤💙 and yeah, i clearly remember the "hope you liked my whacked seal" clicking and being like YES okay i am Getting This
I love your energy so much! Also, I see you with Fourth Wing. I enjoyed how fast-paced it is, and it took me out of a reading slump because of that (also probably because the audiobook was playing at 2x), but I definitely had to switch off a lot of my usual critical side while at it. I'm so glad my library has it so I can read it guilt-free ehehe.
I just found your channel and this video was the first one I watched of your videos. I follow many channels on youtube that deal with literature. You are the first person with whom I share the same thoughts about the books you presented and Wow, what a feeling! you got a new fan! thank you!
I don’t have an issue with people not liking fourth wing. I have an issue with people belittling those who do and being flat out rude. I really respect your opinions and the way you present your review for the book because you don’t target the people who did like it. It’s okay if a book wasn’t for you! We all have different opinions “this is how you lose the time war” definitely wasn’t for me lol. But I don’t judge the people who do like it! There’s a big difference between not liking something and expressing that, and flat out trying to make people feel bad for liking it. It’s too bad those lines get blurred.
Thank you for sharing your review on Fourth Wing! I also didn’t enjoy the relationship element of this book for the same reason 🤍also, love the long videos!
You took the words right out of my mouth with Fourth Wing! I def thought it was YA until the late addition of spicy parts. I really like the world building and dragon lore which is why I will be reading the sequel. But the romantacyness of it just wasn’t my thing. I bought a Sarah j Maas book just to see what the fuss was about but now I know I’m probably not gonna like it. I AM just finishing Fonda Lee’s Green Bone series and I looooove those. Jade City, Jade War & Jade Legacy is just really surprising and intriguing and actiony. I love the urban fantasy and martial arts elements. And am deeply attached to her characters. I think I’m late to the hype of the series but if anyone hasn’t read it yet I highly recommend.
What a great wrap up u have Jaysen! I really loved fourth wing it was a new favorite book of mine dying for book 2! My wrap up will be up sometimes this week
I love Peter Darling so much! I'm glad to see it getting some love. I also loved Fourth Wing. I think it reminded me so much of what I loved about Divergent (plus DRAGONS) that it was easy to get past all the things I might not have enjoyed about it. I've seen quite a few reviewers talk about why they didn't like it, but I feel like yours made the most sense and actually had substance and reasoning, rather than just a hate fest. Lastly, I will be picking up Imogen, Obviously immediately 😍
Since you didn't enjoy Fourth Wing, I'll be happy to take your copy off your hands 😉 I missed out on getting a copy with sprayed edges and am hoping to get my one some day.
I am so happy to find at least ONE person who didn't enjoy Fourth Wing. I DNFd the book after about 30 or 40% and felt bad because EVERYONE on tiktok was going INSANE about this book, but it just wasn't for me. I didn't connect with any of the characters and I also wasn't on board with knowing that the main character falls in love with the bully! No thanks! I'm happy people love this book, but it just wasn't a winner for me.
I was wondering if the dragons had some influence over their attraction. Also I was not happy with the outcome of one the characters. The ending did have a sort of soap opera feel. Also you can make a small fortune on your sprayed edged forth wing. Think about the board games you can buy!!!
On the plus side for Fourth Wing, you’ve got the edition that’s going for a pretty penny on Pango! I haven’t read it yet but I also have that edition and will sell it in a second if I end up not enjoying it. 😆
I have been so on the fence about Fourth Wing, I had been swayed to try it and now I’m thinking no. However, I almost need to read it so I know where I land. 😟 So conflicted.
14:28 I bought Mothman because I was curious after seeing it in a previous IG video of yours. It’s weird. I personally think it’s written like a tween is writing fanfiction of their fave book series. I’ve read spicier passages in the Bible and all the characters, including the main ones, are pretty one dimensional and I really don’t like the female main. The only character I do love is Moth coz he’s adorable and I’m a sucker for loners. I really really wanted to like it because the premise is a great idea but I just don’t. In the hands of a different author, this could become something awesome.
I really love your long form reviews. I’m so glad you enjoyed This Poison Heart- I’m reading the sequel right now. I felt the same surprise around the plot of the first one - it was so unique!! I also read Fourth Wing this month - it was not my jam either. I felt like it was marketed as fantasy but I got straight romance vibes from it. I’m not a hard magic, hard fantasy stickler by any means, but the tone was just… not it.
I think that without liking the narrator of Fourth Wing, Rebecca Soler, so much I might have DNFed it. It started slow and I like fast paced plots and almost exclusively read UF and PNR books. I don't even know when exactly, maby when the romance started to show 🤷♀️, but I found myself not being able to stop listening. I must say that I absolutely NEED to have romance in my books and feel the feels cus otherwise the storys are just boring to me. All in all I really liked Fourth Wing at the end and waiting for the next installment to see what happens next. I really don't get why people are so mean and take it so personal when someone doesn't like what they like. Everyone is allowed to have an opinion and not everyone like the same stuff.
HI!!!! I just started reading manga for the first time and I started with blue period. I love it so much. Do you have any manga recommendations for beginners?
I love having someone to chat about books with (virtually and one-sided, but I’ll take it!). Thanks Ezeekat!

I agree entirely ❤

You always put a smile on my face 🙂
Peter Darling’s audiobook is one of the best I’ve ever listened to. The narrator made Hook sound similar to the Disney version

just pre ordered Sir Callie and the Champions of Helston thanks for the recommendation, currently reading Fourth wing lol
Hope you enjoy it!

The Fourth Wing sequel just came out and then I found this review lol! I haven’t read anything from Yarros. And honestly don’t plan to.

Love your content! You do not deserve the hate you get. Also please tell me where you got your colorful library sign?
There is no percy jackson this month ? 😢 i am actually re-reading those again too because the last time i read i was twelve...
Always such relaxing to watch❤
Also I’m really sorry you are scared to be harassed just for your opinions on one book
Back to Narnia in July?

Have you read Komi can’t communicate?
