    This is great!! Thank you for sharing this! This will help me to show customers how many amps are being used in their kitchen with their appliances. Too many people did not realize you can't use a microwave coffee machine and toaster oven at the same time on one single circuit LOL.

      Yeah, all of those appliances on 1 circuit is no bueno.

    Thanks for doing this. Numbers don't lie. I love my kill-a-watt meters. I test all my new appliances with them. I was surprised how cheap my Instant Pot is to operate.

    I'm in a time of use area and I try to get up before 7am and try to get my coffee, toast and shower in before the rates change. Over a month it adds up

    • @everydaysolar
      @everydaysolar  Год назад +1

      What is the range on your rates? We are a flat $0.12 per kWh where I am at in Illinois which is honestly pretty reasonable if you compare to other utilities across the US.

    • @NickShoust
      @NickShoust Год назад

      @@everydaysolar off peak 7.4c, mid peak 10.2c , on-peak 15.1c. But you can also pick an ultra low rate option which is overnight from 11pm-7am at 2.4c but the on peak is then at 24.0c/kwh

    • @NickShoust
      @NickShoust Год назад

      That ultra low overnight is really appealing for car charging , battery backup charging , etc.

    This is reality near. I probably would like the consumption of my outdoor lighting system. Some stay for 4 hours and some stay for all night. This is very handy. Thank you for sharing

    Fantastic-do they make these devices for 240V outlets? I’d love to have one for my EV charging outlet in the garage (I know some of the fancier EV cable units have this feature but mine is a bare-bones version).

    • @everydaysolar

      I don't think so, I just installed an Emporia Energy monitor on the other channel which is able to track your EV charger and 15 other circuits. Pretty handy ruclips.net/video/Qz-aHoew5cs/видео.html

      I just checked the prices for the Killawatt. Looks like it may be more expensive.... Depends on where you source it I imagine.

    • @realSamAndrew
      @realSamAndrew Год назад +1

      Kill a Watt is more expensive, it does not have a backlight display, and it loses the readings when you unplug it or lose power.

      @@realSamAndrew I bought my Killawatt about 10 years ago so indeed the prices are more expensive now.
