In other countries you don’t need a 12-point plan to obtain medical treatment and pay for it. You just go the to hospital, receive payment and leave. I required emergency treatment in Japan on two occasions. On the first, I rolled up to a hospital followed an off-road motorcycle accident. They looked so worried when I told them I had no insurance. I received stitches and medication and paid about $80 before walking out the door. Years later, I cut my foot in a Tokyo subway station and was bleeding profusely. In the ambulance the EMTs looked so concerned when they learned I had no insurance. When we arrived at the hospital, a doctor and two nurses were standing outside and waiting for me! Got some stitches and medicine. The they sent me to the billing department. I pulled $80 out my wallet to settle the entire bill, including the ambulance ride. Two answer one of your questions, America has far worse health outcomes than all the other industrialized countries with much more affordable healthcare systems. Most Americans don’t understand what a bad deal they are getting, because most have never been outside this enormous country and are painfully uninterested in taking a look at what’s out there.
I just moved from Colorado to New York this past weekend and it was a 29 hour drive. From Colorado to California is 15 hours. You never realize how big this country is until you have to drive it.
When you think about New York, remember that New York City and the rest of New York are very different. It's like going to Dallas and thinking you've seen Texas.
so True, New York City is a trash heap compared to the rest of the state, I subject Upstate NY they got good food, friendly people, and small lakes and lots of woods to play in.
True but at the end of the day we still all one✊🏽 i live in Albany, my dad is from Brooklyn, and my mom is from Buffalo. Got family all over the state and I think thats the beauty of NY
A Texan here, and a recommendation I would suggest before coming would be to familiarize yourself a little with some driving laws and the tendencies of the people that live in whichever state you visit. There are lots of videos that make it less tedious than reading a guide, and other people from foreign nations that visit have said it has helped them. This isn't an advertisement at all, but there is a family from Britain (Mr. H. and Friends) who have recently visited Texas and rented a car while they were here and they watched some videos to give them a condensed education about basic rules. Depending on the area and state(s) you plan to visit, driving rules and even unwritten rules (etiquette) of the drivers can vary pretty significantly. Sorry for the long comment, but I want your family to have the best time and experience here when you come, and most of all, be safe.
About the healthcare situation - yes it sucks here - BUT if you guys are here and something serious happens (God forbid) - DO NOT hesitate to go to the emergency room. They won't turn you away for not having money. They might send you a big bill afterwards but if you can't pay it, you can't pay it... nothing really happens other than possibly affecting your credit score but I am not even sure about that. Also a lot of hospitals have "charity" programs where if you can show how much money you make and meet certain lower income thresholds, you can have your bill either dramatically reduced or covered completely. So don't ever let the "it's too expensive" mindset or fear of getting hit with a large bill ever scare you away from getting emergency treatment if it is necessary.
Definitely look in to travel insurance if you come to the US. I was in a car accident in 2003 and spent three days in the ICU. Between the helicopter transport and three days of ICU it was over $300,000. Insurance companies are the reason medical costs are so crazy here.
It's really insane how much they charge for everything. My mom used to go over peoples itemized hospital bills to help them dispute at least some of the charges. She started doing after my grandmother was in the hospital and my my noticed charges for different items made of latex which my grandmother was allergic to so they couldn't have used. @@lorismith6174
And its because the best doctors in the world are in the US. Most jobs provide health insurance but i personally never heard of someone i know left w a crazy bill who didnt have insurance. however i know it happens and its very unfortunate. def wouldnt trade our healthcare system for canadas or uk tho. The main problem is pharma because they can set crazy high prices for medicine, equipment, etc.. which i think there should be price regulations to make it more affordable
It's expensive because government is trying to run it, and they are doing a piss poor job of it. Government tying the hands of insurance, lawyers with malpractice insurance claims, and big pharma in bed with our politicians are the reason. Think OBAMA CARE. It's a cluster fv ck. You can get your dog a operated on for $1,000, but not a human? Yeah, it's a bit different, but not much.
I'm a touring musician from Indiana and I can say as someone who has driven all over the Eastern and Midwestern US that I have driven as much as twenty hours to do a show in central Texas and eight of those hours was in Tezas itself. If you drive non stop from NYC to LA only to stop for gas and restroom it'd take four days.
If you drive nonstop from La to NYC without sleeping it takes about 48 hours or two days. The record is close to 30 hours driving very illegally. If you sleep minimally you can drive it in three days.
If you tell someone they look "uncomfortable"...do you think it'll make the person feel better? Or more uncomfortable?!..let's see if you have 5th grade level of critical thought...it's you purposely making the person feels worst not better so why not be NICE say something nice instead of being MEAN so that the person feels comfortable to begin with....this is common sense basic logic which you learn as a child wow smh
@@sweetdulcesunshinenyc there is always one. You clearly have the thought process of a potato. I am simply replying to Jono and what he has said in several videos on how she and he were both extremely uncomfortable. If you do not like it to bad skip rocks.
Thank you for saying American people are so friendly and welcoming, the majority of people here are pretty friendly. One word of advice, get travel health insurance. 💜
I wouldn’t worry about having to use the US healthcare system if something happens while visiting. You could apply for some sort of hardship assistance, but it’s not like you’d get arrested for nonpayment. Not sure how credit ratings work in Slovakia, but besides that, you may get an annoying call from a collections agency. Just tell them not to call again and they’re not supposed to. And yes, we have excellent healthcare. Rich people from countries with government funded healthcare travel here for care because the wait times in their countries are so long, you could be a goner before getting the care you need.
To be fair they would be out of the country by the time it's time to make payments, I highly doubt they would have Slovakia issue an arrest warrant, then have them extradited ( if there's even an extradition treaty/not paying even in the Article II) and then pay for a plane to bring them here.
@@lisazaccardimeunier8378 Exactly. Debtors prison was never a thing here in the states. You can't be locked up for not being able to pay a debt. You also will never be refused care at a hospital for your inability to pay. I've heard stories of Americans traveling in other countries who were refused treatment until the medical fee was paid in advance. I would be more nervous about needing medical care in any other country in the world before America.
One illness in the US, if uninsured, could destroy you financially. The medical care is first class, but the high costs are due to corporate greed. Hospitals are for profit.
The cities mentioned are actually much much larger. That is just the city limits population. New York metropolitan region is more than 20 million spreading over three states, LA is almost 20 million in a massive metropolitan region larger than many countries. Chicago is hovering around 10 million. Then there are lots of cities above the 5 million range. In extension, America has 9 of the 10 largest metropolitan regions in the world.
Next time you are scheduled for an MRI ask the dr. to prescribe you a mg of Xanax, it will help keep you calm enough to endure the procedure without worry!
Thanks Kat for joining. Your children are a blessing to many. Great Otherly upbring. You have done fabulously bring them up respectful with humiliation and humour. Awesome kids. God bless your whole family.
The best example I can give: you mentioned that you drove for 19 hours going to Croatia...you can leave El Paso Texas heading East and drive for almost 19 hours and still not leave Texas....good luck and look forward to seeing y'all come across the big pond.
Kudos to Garin for trying to pinpoint Chicago because he saw a Native American image on the USA map. It probably represented a collective area where there is a large population of Native Americans. But… he wasn’t wrong either. Chicago wasn’t that far away. His Chicago Blackhawks are helping to educate him. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
First viewer 😀When the narrator was describing the different types of environments, YES that was all in the USA. Great reaction again and thank you Kat for joining again. Such an amazing family.
If you live outside America and travel to America ... BUY "Travel insurance" and that WILL take care of ANY Medical Needs you'll have. We Americans DO have Health Insurance so our Medical Needs don't destroy us. ie ... If you hospital stay costs 300k you the patient don't pay that amount. You pay a small percentage of that and the Insurance pays the rest.
You can’t be turned away from an emergency room at a hospital. If you go in there with a serious injury, they will help you they’re not going to just turn you away because you can’t make a payment. Don’t worry about that.
Our healthcare is top notch. I had ambulance, EKG, X-ray, the full work up plus prescription and it cost me $42 out of pocket. When I didn’t have a job and needed healthcare and an overnight stay, plus aftercare with 3rd degree burns it cost $0 as I was covered by state insurance. It was the same service as if I were rich. This is In Wisconsin
US Healthcare is the "most expensive" because it is NOT subsidized by the government. Making all healthcare payments either 1) "out of pocket" or "cash on hand" or 2) Through insurance companies. So, any concerns can be easily avoided by looking into getting insurance through multiple options. However, it should be noted that BY LAW if you were to enter a hospital for emergency reasons, they WILL HAVE TO TREAT YOU. However, after you are "stable and well enough to travel" they may either release you, or move you to another location for further treatment. So, if you were to break a leg, you would be treated in the hospital and sent home after you had a cast put on you and billed "afterward" for the treatment. Meaning that you wouldn't be required to "pay up front" to be treated, and if you were it would be something that would be done by an "emergency care center" and not an official "hospital". It should also be noted that while our healthcare is expensive if you can't afford insurance, or treatments NOT covered by your insurance, it is also one of the HIGHEST QUALITY healthcare systems you can access at any time. So, while it may be "for profit" since it isn't subsidized, it IS pretty darn good overall.
You can not be arrested for a medical bill. Also you can not be denied treatment. You can go into any hospital and get treated and they will bill you. If you don’t pay it would be sent to collections. Being foreign nothing would happen.
I’m from Michigan and went to my brothers university graduation ceremony in Houghton, Michigan in the upper peninsula from where we live in the lower peninsula and it took us 10 hours to get there. The U.S is definitely a big country. This was when I was a child as well and I couldn’t believe it.
Emergency rooms can't deny service for emergencies. Foreigners usually just don't pay their bills, same for illegal aliens. Secondly, stories about $500k bills for things like snake bites usually leave out that the county will usually pick up the bill if the person doesn't have insurance. Thirdly, people pay for their medical bills one way or the other, whether it's directly, with insurance, or with higher prices ans higher taxes
Most people living in the USA doesn’t know their healthcare rights, most hospitals 🏥 in USA are publicly funded so they have to offer reduced payments and or dissolve the bill if you fill out the right paperwork and ask to speak with the hospitals billing officer. I’ve never paid a hospital 🏥 bill in my life. Always get the hospital 🏥 to dissolve the bill thur their federally mandated policies.
Your best bet is to pick a single state or region. Otherwise you will be constantly traveling. Dallas and Austin have decent shopping. Let me explain travel in Texas. We drove from Corpus Christi to Las Vegas when moving. corpus Christi sits on the curve of Texas and is on the coast. We had to Dive North through to the bottom of the Pan handle and Turn west. We drove for 14 hours the first day, and we're still 3 miles from the border of Texas and New Mexico. We go to Las Vegas at 2 pm the next day after stopping to sleep. But most of the Trip is getting out of Texas
Well done Jono, what a turn around for your channel. I am totally gobsmacked. I was watching your channel "a foreigner in Slovakia" and boy...within a year you became totally obsessed with the USA. And your American subscribers are so generous and you seem much happier. Living in Slovakia is still better than living in South Africa. There are pros and cons everywhere in every country. I thought that you would be able to adapt and learn Slovak language by now, but it just shows how finding the right people who can understand you and speak the same language is important in life. hahahahah I can not believe it. Truly. In 10 years time it will be American JONO's family living in the wild rescued by the Raney family 😅😅😆😆All the best.
Insurance companies are a huge problem with how much we have to pay for health care. There is travel insurance that you should look into when you really start planning. You should show Kat the videos of the state parks and best beaches. An RV is a great idea because you can drive and live out of it but that can get REALLY expensive as well. There's a youtuber, Eva zu Beck, who has a video or two of renting an RV for traveling the US as well as just traveling in her Range Rover or similar car that you should check out.
The R.V idea is s great one. It is expensive however, you can stay at campgrounds which would allow you to meet a lot of people and expoetence a lot of the country. Additionally, campgrounds are like their own little xommunities im the summertime hosting lives music, Djs and movies, all summer long.
Hope your whole family can make it here to the US soon, I think you will love it. You should be able to check with your US embassy and they can help you know what types of insurance you will need. You mentioned an RV, there is a young woman from Poland who has a channel on RUclips, can't recall the name or channel but I am sure you can find it through a search. She spent several months in the US driving from Texas to Alaska. She rented an RV for two days and posted a video about her experience. You might want to look at that as it discussed the costs. The country is huge, I have driven from Michigan to Nevada several times and the trip takes about 2 twelve hour driving days. So keep that in mind, places are not as close as you might think. To fully experience America, you might want to travel through several states. You could go along the east coast from New York to Florida. Or you could do Texas to the Midwest or some other varient. Best advice is plan well as there is much to see.
I was living in Texas and we decided to take a road trip to Colorado. It was going to take 14 hours to get out of Texas... before we even got to another state. NY, on the other hand is only about 7.5 hours from West to East.
We have great health care in America, if you can afford it. You can spend an entire vacation in Texas. Be sure to get some wonderful Tex-Mex and bar-b-que.
Here are the straight facts... we, the American people are the reason rates are so high. Simply put, so many doctors and hospitals have been sued over frivolous lawsuits that their insurance is outrageous. Medical schools are unnecessarily expensive, and urgent care cannot be refused to anyone based on ability to pay. So when you pay your medical bill, you are paying for the lawsuits, practice insurance, and nonpayment of others bills. This is not to mention Medicare and medicaide underpaying its bills.
Healthcare in the U.S. isn't cheap. One thing to keep in mind, though, about how much of the GDP is spent is due to research. Billion-dollar companies spend hundreds on millions trying to make the next breakthrough so that they can make even more money. The percentage of GDP isn't just out-of-pocket spending by citizens on healthcare.
You can get Vacation Health Insurance. If you have a good Insurance policy health is a lot cheaper. Back in 2006 I had a triple bypass. If I hadn't had Insurance it would have cost me $420k. With Insurance it cost $200.
Ok, as a TEXAN from San Antonio, I can tell you that if you find San Antonio on a TEXAS map, it’s deep in the heart of TEXAS and if you want to drive wherever out of state, it’s HUNDREDS of miles IN ANY direction just to get to the state line! It feels like that’s half trip distance wise because it usually is! Ha Ha! Our state is HUMUNGOUS! Thank goodness we literally have the best roadways in the world. Not an exaggeration at all. Our highway system is second to none because we Need It! I love this place with all my heart. I am TEXAN! 😁👍 San Antonio also has about two and half million people by itself!
If you're not into big cities and prefer the outdoors, I would actually suggest visiting states like Wyoming, Montana, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, etc. over Texas. Go check out Yellowstone in Wyoming, Canyonlands, Moab, Zion in Utah, Grand Canyon in Arizona, etc. That would be a much more fun trip (especially by RV) than just Texas, IMO.
Dont worry, Any city in the US that you visit, there will still be within a short drive, you'll be in the country or wilderness. There are state parks and forests that are thousands of acres. If you visit try a family travelers insurance. If you move get a good job that pays your families insurance.
Poor people here use the hospitals for healthcare constantly. Hospitals cannot turn you away. Also, our medical care is top notch. We also fund a ton of research, develop vaccines and other treatments (that we share with the rest of the world)….that stuff is not free. It cost a ton of money. So they either tax us way more or our cost is more. Either way, it has to be paid for.
I'm sorry Kat ran into some rude people in the check out line. Unfortunately, that happens in the US too. Aholes are everywhere it seems. They are the one thing we can't seem to repel. 😂. Like flies to honey. They go after the kindest of us as they see our own kindness as weakness.
I also have the feeling that rudeness, littering, and other bad stuff really went up since the COVID times. It's almost like a lot of people forgot their manners while separated from society for that time and never got them back!
Jono, let me explain it to you, some friends and me came home for Christmas one year from Camp Pendleton between Los Angeles and San Diego. It took almost 29 hours at 55mph on our drive. And 23 hours of the drive was from El Paso to Dallas because we all were from the area. And that was only stopping for restroom, eats, and drinks while switching drivers and getting gas.
The USA healthcare system is the very best in the world but expensive. But much of this is due to the fact they pack on and stack in hidden charges for the uninsured and 15 million criminal illegal aliens that dont pay anything. Imagine just buying lunch for 15 million people. Buying their healthcare is massive as well. Also these people will just go to the ER which is very expensive even if they just have a cold. So just imagine ten people in the ER with four of them being illegal and getting care for free. If it cost six hundred dollars for emergency care, the other six people have to cover the care of the four illegals which would be twenty four hundred dollars. Its all hidden and embedded in the charges so people dont see it.
Any airline or travel agency should be able to offer Travel Medical Insurance to you. You need it any time you travel to a place where your home medical insurance does not cover you and not just to the USA.
I’m a bit suspicious of the 500,000 dollar medical bills for a snake bite. But medical bills are quite high. I’m from Texas. It is against the law for a hospital to turn you away if you don’t have insurance or money. Unless it’s a private hospital. County hospitals will be your best bet.
It was more than likely due to the cost of anti-venom. Sometimes you have to have it flown in from another state and depending on the actual snakes, the anti venom costs are astronomical due to either being rare, how easily it can be acquired from the snake and how much venom the snake actually produces. To get anti-venom you have to milk the snakes, which means gathering the venom from the fangs which can then be turned into anti-venom. Very hard and dangerous work.
You might like to check out San Antonio Texas if you end up going to Texas it’s called the Little Venice of Texas, it’s kinda nice. If and when you do come to visit welcome and have fun wherever you end up going.
When I was a kid, my parents drove from North Carolina to California. I was very young so I don't remember most of the trip. Years later, my dad was talking about that trip & told me that it took him almost 3 days to drive through Texas (the widest part of the state). He drove about 8 hours a day, stopping for meals, fuel, & overnight stays in roadside motels. Back in the early 90's, My (ex) husband and I once drove from California to Pennsylvania. We took turns while the other slept so it was almost nonstop driving, with only meal breaks & refueling. We stopped for one overnight stay in Oklahoma (out of sheer exhaustion for both of us). The total distance was about 2980 miles (4795 km). We were in a rush to get to Philadelphia, so we didn't have the luxury of time to stop & see certain parts of this huge country. Luckily, our route took us through the northern part of Texas, called "the panhandle" which only took about one full day to cross.
It’s easy to think of driving to so many places, and you specifically mentioned Texas but always plan first. Example - I once lived in West Texas El Paso. My brother lived in Houston. Our sister lived outside Los Angeles, California. The distance from me to my brothers home, never leaving the state, was just 25 miles less than to my sister in California. That’s crossing New Mexico and Arizona before the desert in California to reach L.A. Plan trips carefully!
Healthcare in the US is indeed expensive. I had a heart attack back in July and while I had insurance that covered almost all of the bill, if I didn't, the bill would have been over $200,000.00
Yes the medical care is usually top notch and very little wait times. I had a relatively minor surgery (non life threatening) when I was younger and I was in the hospital within like a week or so to get it done. I know I didn't wait months for it to get done like in some European countries. But then again, I don't go to a doctor unless I need a doctor which has been years so it might have changed.
That's a lie..Healthcare is a problem and it's roots is The system is connected to corporations insurances pharmaceuticals and even the food industry which is intended to make people sicker..all because of the evil corrupt Anti American GOP or the white supremacists republikkkans traitors in power which have had the majority since they assassinated JFK MLK MALCOLM X etc etc (all progressives social democrats in their policies)
There are many species of venomous snakes throughout the USA, and many species of non-venomous snakes such as Garter, King... but if you're in Southeastern and see snakes chances are they're poisonous such as Water Moccasins, and Rattlesnakes are definitely a don't play with or catch for fun thing. I heard young man say he enjoys catching snakes down by water so unless he knows what kind of snake it is he shouldn't mess with it.
Yes, if you come to Texas all four types of venomous snakes live in Texas. Most of the bites in the US occur when people are catching and messing with snakes. The other thing to watch out for is walking around at dusk, because the snakes can be out soaking up the warmth.
To put it in perspective, if you put the UK east to west in Texas you would still have to travel another 180 miles east to reach Louisiana. Slovakia to Croatia is like going from Wa DC to Mrtyle Beach S. Carolina .
I live in Washington state, and my health care costs aren't high. I'm married and have two kids. I think the most we have ever spent on any serious procedure was around $550.00. Our insurance is excellent. We also have good dental but in my opinion that is more expensive out of pocket. It truly depends on your job and what insurance you carry. There are so many variables when it comes to our health care system. Foreigners: Just get the travel insurance, and don't be skimpy on it. Prioritize your health always. Also, America is awesome. Don't ever believe the media and its scare tactics. They love to place fear and bias in people's minds. I have lived in 5 states, visited all 50 states, and have been to 11 countries and have noticed people are people. No where is perfect. America isn't as dangerous as the media wants you to believe. Remember, we are huge. We have tons of land and tons of people.... of course, our statistics in any category will be higher than most other countries. America is full of nice and yes, even smart people. We aren't like the kardashians or the kids of beverly hills, that's all hollywood imagry. We're just normal folks living normal lives.
8:00 This IS an older video. The current defense budget is north of $850 billion. As for healthcare, you have several options. First is to get travelers' insurance, which I think passes the cost to your home coverage. Your second option is to tell them you have no assets or income in the US (they can't verify this and they generally don't care to look into Slovakian bank accounts). People with limited resources get Medicaid or indigent care. Providers are legally required to stabilize emergency cases, and most health networks have a fund for people who can't pay that covers basic care. Premium care is tremendously expensive, but it's also world class. Private hospitals are basically resort hotels.
U.S. Healthcare isn't too bad. Yes, the prices need to come down a lot, I don't think anyone will argue that, lol. But 99% of stuff is cheap, even without insurance, a doctor's visit for most things is under $100. If you are poor in the U.S. there is Medicaid which is basically like socialized healthcare, you pay nothing if you earn under a certain threshold. And insurance (which most people have through their employment) covers most costs. Beyond that, prices are negotiable and most hospitals will work with you to reduce costs if you just ask. Where we get screwed is in long-term care and management. If you need constant medication, mobility assistance, or a health aid coming to your home, the prices rise rapidly. Medical transport is also very costly. You don't want a long-term illness in the U.S. or catastrophic injury. The quality of care however is exceptional for most things. While things vary greatly from one doctor to the next, in terms of medical technology, availability of specialists, etc is actually very good. We have high survival rates relative to most countries, and better quality of life results for people in recovery from most severe injuries and illnesses. The problem is low-income patients who make too much to qualify for assistance, but have very bad insurance, or none at all. And that demographic is growing, especially in the 18-35 age range. It's far from perfect, lol. But despite that most of the 325 million people here get by just fine. You just need to plan you finances accordingly, and not everyone is great at that. That type of financial planning for healthcare isn't usually taught in school, so a lot of people learn the hard way.
Health costs are how they are here because of the privatization of drug companies and insurance companies being able to dismiss claims at will. I'm not too fond of the healthcare system here, but I believe the people will one day get together, forget about divisional politics, and stand united to change the system so it works for all of us. Just my goofy thoughts. Kat, you are a terrific Mom!
What drug companies were 'government' Now from C-V treatment, government paid Pf. and Mod. for 600 millions doses. Those 2 companies own yours (most all) Congresspersons a___!
The reason our medical is so expensive is that we preform almost all of the worlds R&D for new medicines and technology. We pay so the rest of the world can have cheap medical.
Just to give you some driving idea of America. I drove from Tampa, Florida to Los Angeles, California non stop and it took 42 and half hours. Now this is a cross country trip but driving places outside the Northeast is not a quick trip. To put driving in America into perspective, Tampa, Florida to LA, California is 2,526 Miles (4,065 KM) Paris to Moscow is 1,765 Miles (2,840 KM) El Paso, Texas to Houston, Texas is 745 Miles (1,198 KM) San Diego, California to San Francisco, California is 501 Miles (806 KM)
Most treatment in the US is top notch my wife had a failing liver due to autoimmune disease and they found her a liver within 6 weeks. she had the transplant and I got a call from the ER every 2 hours to update me. the waiting area was right outside the ICU and I was able to see her under sedation as she was being taken back. I was able to speak with the surgeon immediately following the surgery. University hospitals are by far the best ones to go to if you need help in the US most of them specialize in one thing or another. my wifes liver was completely covered by our insurance. her medications are all covered and we were able to get that through the University the hospital found a way to make it free of charge. so keep in mind our medical may be expensive but when you get treated in the US your chances of success are nearly 5 times greater with risky operations. the US is also the leading nation when it comes to laparoscopic surgery. stuff that use to be major operations can be done in a day now with a 2 inch incision.
I live in Southern California, and to drive from one border to the other would take about 17hr. without traffic, but here you can go to the beach, the mountains for some snow, we have Universal Studios, Disney and so much more.
To give some more perspective on just how big this country is, I live in Cincinnati Ohio and my husband and I drive down to Florida for vacation. It takes around 15 to 16 hours to get from here to Sarasota, FL, which is roughly halfway down the state on the gulf side. I believe it can take nearly two days just to drive across Texas. There's a LOT of really cool places to see, so plan carefully! :)

@@Darkphoenix3450 Found the one that wasnt tough enough to handle the city and had to move back home

All anyone visiting the USA needs do is buy is travel medical insurance in advance. It is cheap and sold by airlines and travel agencies.
I can't tell you how many people go to the ER for "free" pregnancy tests. True story.
Definitely look in to travel insurance if you come to the US. I was in a car accident in 2003 and spent three days in the ICU. Between the helicopter transport and three days of ICU it was over $300,000. Insurance companies are the reason medical costs are so crazy here.
Yes! Health care costs are crazy. In my husband's two year struggle with Leukemia, the total bill ended up to be 3.1 million.
Healthcare is so expensive here because it's the best on planet earth!
If you drive nonstop from La to NYC without sleeping it takes about 48 hours or two days. The record is close to 30 hours driving very illegally. If you sleep minimally you can drive it in three days.

@@AnitaPaynter you can’t get arrested for not paying a bill.
@@lisazaccardimeunier8378 Exactly. Debtors prison was never a thing here in the states. You can't be locked up for not being able to pay a debt. Travel Health Insurance to cover emergencies while in the USA is available and not cost prohibitive for most individuals or families.
I live in Connecticut and have traveled unp and down the east coast, across to Ohio, went to San Francisco, also to San Antonio Texas. Love it
US Healthcare is the "most expensive" because it is NOT subsidized by the government.
HELLO CAT It's good to see you back. William s
Most of our hospitals have a financial aid that will treat patients that are poor. With a sliding scale.
You can get travel insurance and a reasonable cost glfor while you travel
It can take you two days to drive from east to west across Texas.
You can not be arrested for a medical bill. Also you can not be denied treatment. You can go into any hospital and get treated and they will bill you. If you don’t pay it would be sent to collections. Being foreign nothing would happen.
There are medicnes you can take to prevent motion sickness

Never be worried about being arrested in the US for owing money. It's illegal to be arrested for debt.

I am so excited to see Kats reactions and shock to these videos!! Thank you for coming along!!

To avoid any health insurance problems, just buy travel insurance, and you'll be fine.

Texas is huge, be prepared to drive a lot. El Paso is closer to the Pacific Ocean than it is to Houston
Health insurance may be a little expensive but it is the best in the world.
I guarded the embassy in Slovakia and I miss it every day!
Thank you for your service.
Yeah that doesn't sound right. My ex-husband had a triple bypass for $250,000.
And then there s the venomous politicians
Thank you for adding “and friendly”.
My daughter is leaving in 2 day for Washington Bellevue. I hope she will adapt🤞
Hello Mrs. Kat, nice to see you joining in. I think you are going to like this. 🙂
New subscriber from west coast USA. Really enjoyed your reactions.
Indeed
The reason our medical is so expensive is that we preform almost all of the worlds R&D for new medicines and technology.
We pay so the rest of the world can have cheap medical.
Another great reaction!
As an American and an Aztec. .. I like this channel haha
All the great doctores are in USA , whare live we have some of the best of the best
Just to give you some driving idea of America. I drove from Tampa, Florida to Los Angeles, California non stop and it took 42 and half hours. Now this is a cross country trip but driving places outside the Northeast is not a quick trip. To put driving in America into perspective,
Tampa, Florida to LA, California is 2,526 Miles (4,065 KM)
Paris to Moscow is 1,765 Miles (2,840 KM)
El Paso, Texas to Houston, Texas is 745 Miles (1,198 KM)
San Diego, California to San Francisco, California is 501 Miles (806 KM)
The flexing😂😂😂
To give some more perspective on just how big this country is, I live in Cincinnati Ohio and my husband and I drive down to Florida for vacation. It takes around 15 to 16 hours to get from here to Sarasota, FL, which is roughly halfway down the state on the gulf side. I believe it can take nearly two days just to drive across Texas. There's a LOT of really cool places to see, so plan carefully! :)
I'm in Indiana. Very southeastern corner, 30-35miles from Cincy. Who Dey.
You’re right about Texas. When we drive to Florida it is a 2 day trip.
