  • Riding Miami-Dade Transit Metrobus Route 100 Northbound to South Beach (bus model: New Flyer XN40). This bus journey starts at Government Center Station in Downtown Miami and ends at South Beach in Miami Beach. Route 100 (formerly, Route 120 or S) travels between Downtown Miami, Bayside Marketplace, Miami Beach, Haulover Beach, Sunny Isles and Aventura Mall. As of 2024, Route 100 arrives every 5-10 minutes and the full fare to ride this bus is $2.25.
Route 100 is Miami's highest performance bus route due to tourism and working at Miami Beach (hotels and restaurants). This issue with this route is overcrowding (during rush hour, it is even worse; passengers are packed like sardines). Miami-Dade Transit needs to use articulated buses to alleviate passenger overcrowding. Also, bus operators (which I don't blame and they're doing their job), cannot accept (or skips) bus stops because the bus is overcrowded.

    - Metromover expansion (17:00)
    - Boat House vs Miami-Dade County Lawsuit (20:22)

You have done an excellent job, capturing the street vibe of Miami and Miami Beach. I greatly appreciate how you show which direction and on which road you are traveling on or past. I also appreciate the way you insert the maps to show where you are and where you are going. Nice job !

The 100 is indeed a mess. There are a few articulated buses that run on the 100 sometimes, but they don't help the overcrowding, most times it's only 1-2 on them because the rest are on other overcrowded routes. The S/120 was crowded too, but they actually had backup routes along portions of the beach, like the M. The M or 14, still runs, but, since the S/120 is all one route now, it basically doesn't help really along the beach. There's probably at most 5 articulated buses that run out of Central Garage (Where the 100 is based from). Hopefully some of the new XE60s that are supposed to come by this year or next, will go to Central for the 100, for now the overcrowding has to stay unless another divison transfers some more Artics to help slim it down a little.

The Main Problem of the 100 is the Traffic at Collins Av, The 79 have that Problem as well

WOW This Better Bus Network really Screwed it up. Just have a separate bus route go to Haulover and other areas of South Beach like back in the day With the K. and bring back the Beach Max

They should create Route 200 which will be the Beach MAX From DM To Aventura

Articulated buses alone won't solve the problem. Unfortunately, the Better Bus Network actually reduced overall service on a lot of corridors, including Miami Beach, where the 100 would need to run at least every 6 minutes just to equal the number of buses per hour that the S and 120 operated on the corridor, per direction. There have been many incidents of articulated buses, on the 100 and elsewhere, being so overcrowded that they had to leave passengers behind. The UN-Better Bus Network has severe structural issues that will take time and dedication to resovle.

At least it would alleviated some overcrowd and bus bunching. What Miami really needs is expanding the Metrorail from Government Center to Miami Beach. I believe it would have been one of the busiest rail line in North America. We'll see how the Metromover to/from Miami Beach will handle in the future.

Collins Ave really needs another bus route that goes between downtown Miami & Aventura. Biscayne Boulevard still has 2 bus routes.

Yes! And articulate buses as well…most of the time, it is super crowded.

I know right? I have to take it home from Aventura Mall every time I’m coming home from work and by the time I get it takes me 10-20 minutes longer than Before when the S & 120 bus routes were discontinued. On those bus routes I’d be home in 10 or 15 minutes which wasn’t bad.

What's up, man! I'm glad that you tried the new Route 100. I did a full Southbound ride on this route, last month (ruclips.net/video/YwyMAdcI-jM/видео.html). The new route no longer serves Omni Terminal/Arsht Metromover. BTW, that wasn't an eastbound route because A1A is a vertical street, which means that route 100 is northbound.

Yes and that also means 5-10 can also be late right on the 100 because right after better bus had started it was like a bunch of those 100s being late every night
