You only need to win a series by a total of 4 points. Four wins by one point. A win is a fucking win.

Tatum and Brown are strong enough to drive through most defenders, but it’s always an iso fade they focus on
Lastnight alot of iso, but throughout the season they had like 30 dimes a game. So usually no.
Neither Tatum or Brown have a consistently good handle. It's why their turnover numbers are so high. They rely on the iso fade because at least they get a shot opportunity out of it rather than a turnover. A low percentage shot is still better than a turnover.
Derrick White has a bette penetration game than either of them because he has a much better handle. Jrue Holiday's handle is somewhere between White and Tatum/Brown, which is why you see him posting up more to get his points.
Boston is a VERY different team without Porzingis. No Porzingis and your best bet is to clog the paint and prevent the Celtics from getting clean perimeter looks and hope they shoot themselves out of the game but prevent them from getting 40+ 3s
In the loss to the Cavs, Boston shot 22.9% from 3.
With Porzingis, it's a complex problem. If you have a big on Porzingis he'll pull the big out of the paint, allowing for the drive and kick. And this is where Tatum and Brown are too good to stop and the 3 point shooters on the Celtics too good to stop. You're going to have to leave SOMEONE open to stop them from dominating in the paint. That's where Holiday, White, Porzingis, and either Tatum or Brown is going to burn you up. Same with Horford, Hauser, and Pritchard.
People want to sleep on Miami and Cleveland, but both teams are top 7 defenses in the NBA. Something neither Denver nor New York can claim.
I think we all know OKC isn't going to the finals. It's going to be Minnesota or Denver. Both teams pose unique challenges against Boston, but the idea that either team should be favored in a 7 game series against Boston where Porzingis is healthy, is a bit of a stretch.
It's also worth pointing out that they've largely been able to stay healthy because they beat teams quickly. Only the Knicks have as many wins as the Celtics in the playoffs, but Boston has played two fewer games and is still in a better position to close out the series.
They also gave themselves a great break after the regular season by taking care of business. Something neither Denver nor Minnesota did.

The FACTS show both Tatum and Brown attack more and finish better at the rim than White. Y’all HEAVILY discredit those guys because of their play styles. Yes they shot too much at times but also that’s been their games since HS so we drafted them knowing this, when they do drive tho it’s no doubt BOTH are elite finishers. Their winning percentage in the playoffs is nearly identical to their winning percentage in the regular season. They are their own worst enemy and they are rarely flat out beat. You need to outdefend AND outshoot boston... it's hard to do both, especially if Porzingis is there.

This falls on Mazulla, he is the one responsible for how the team plays He is the one that is supposed to design offensive sets and defensive schemes but the guy is a total failure that doesn't even know when to call a time out. Ime tried to eliminate the weaknesses of the Celtics and cut out those Iso tendencies. The Celtics would have reached the finals if he had stayed.

I actually think it's smart for garland to be more a facilitator because you have to see what mobley can do and there is a chance mobley might become the better second option scorer in volume.
But I do think he needs to attack more as a scorer because ppl are seeing he is attacking to pass and letting him trail under the basket which makes it easier on the team defense.
Garland should get his teammates in early first quarter create a rhythm and attack more each quarter as a scoring point. Closers are always the guy who can ball handle mobley won't be a closer. I'm a big Celtic fan - and yes they have won by huge margins. But if the threes are not clicking on any particular night, they resort to one-on-one basketball. I've seen that all season long. And they have a load of talent to win most of those, too. But now they're going to start playing better teams, who will defend better. That is their weakness and it will be their downfall. Unless the big guy comes back in time.

The logic here makes no sense. Stevens et co built a team where you can slow down both superstars and still lose outright to the 3, 4, and 5. They had 8-man rotations that kept the top guys fresh and still blew the rest of the league out so they got the best possible seeding plus home court.
In the playoffs, they're knocming their opponents out in short series, giving up a handful of games on historic shooting and dogwalking the East to a championship series birth but somehow the narrative is what... they can't get 4 games off a team in the West? Ask that question in reverse, what other team should be confident they can beat the Celtics in 7? The answer is likely 'none'.
The Celtics will not get over the hump until they get a true closer down the stretch in big games or a true big who will dominate in the paint in big games. Tatum and Brown in critical games always want to shoot the ball and that’s their problem, they never tryna drive and get to the line or a high percentage shot. They are stuck with 2 guards lol.
