    Truly believe that if you show up for taigating and wallked up to a group, introduced yourself, explained that you are from Europe, and asked if you could join them, almost all tailgaters would welcome you. They would feed you, give you beer, and try to explain football and their fandom. Don't be afraid to talk to strangers in the US. • @DominusCaedis
      @DominusCaedis 3 месяца назад +3

      Also, Veteran's Day is only really a holiday for government employees, most private businesses do not observe it. The only 6 "real" holidays in the US are New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day (4th of July), Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas

    • @sirmoonslosthismind
      @sirmoonslosthismind 3 месяца назад +1

      they're theoretically two different holidays, but in practice they tend to be treated as fungible. many americans don't know the difference. worse, given the number of struggling veterans, it's pretty perverse to "celebrate" veterans in many areas by shutting down public services they may be dependent on. for example, there's no public bus services around here on veterans day.

      I heard that the schoolhouse from the alfred hitchcock movie The Birds is the same way. Apparently local PD says not to approach it because it is privately owned now (it's not a public school anymore) and the owners don't want people approaching it. Alas!
      I guess you could walk on church grounds (there's a church across the street that was also in the movie) and take a selfie from there lol
      I live nearby, in the san francisco bay area, but have never been out to Bodega Bay....it's another county not one of the Bay Area counties, (Bodega Bay as opposed to San Francisco Bay) so you have to pay separately for the public transit...I need a new cell phone, the NFC chip in mine doesn't work... (if you have a working NFC chip you can pay with Google Pay or Apple Pay as opposed to having $2.43 in cash for each bus lol).

      And their pros and cons to that. I mean it's good that they learned the game earlier and teaches them work in team But it can also be a bad thing because it can increase injuries at a younger age. I'm also not a personal fan of youngsters being treated as pro.
      I personally think sports should be for fun for kids and that children should be learning how to minimize injury, learning how to play the sport and building team and leadership skills. But I don't think kids should ever be in pro sports, It kind of feels like child labor.

    People are giving you slightly inaccurate information about Memorial Day and Veterans' Day. Veterans' Day is to honor all veterans, living or dead (whether they died in service or not).

    Brazilian BBQ is similar to American BBQ, but the key difference is that they don't smoke the meat for hours. Instead, they coat it with salt and then baste it as it cooks.

    • @jpbaley2016

      Except, anytime we cook in the backyard on the grill, whether charcoal or gas, we rightfully call it a barbecue. That is the vernacular. It’s burgers, hot dogs, chicken, corn on the cob. In fact Barbecue’s history came from the Tribes of the south & Caribbean cooking their meats on a wooden frame over a fire. Therefore the backyard BBQ is closer to the roots than low and slow smoking of meats.

    CBD really helped my brother be sane. It really helps relax, esp as a sleep aid, without serious after effects of drugs. CBD and Pot in general is a state issue. If you're lucky to be in a state that allows it you'll see tons of folks using it.

      Lucky is a relative term. I live in a state with legalized pot and am sick of the stench. Potheads can be very rude. And I suspect people still think they can smoke their joint while driving (because cigarette smokers drive while smoking) and they haven't figured out yet that it is two very different substances. I can't say it's due to the pot, but people do seem more depressed now, more anxious and more paranoid. The pot may not be causing it, but it didn't make those conditions diminish as promised, therefore I'm not convinced legalizing it was worth the negatives.

    If you want to see some awesome parking lot activities, look up videos of Jimmy Buffett concerts!!! Sadly, we just lost Jimmy on September 1, 2024, but his videos are all over youtube and elsewhere. His concert activities always began about three hours prior to the shows, and they have become iconic. When you wander around among the cars you can see people dressed as “ParrotHeads” with Hawaiian shirts, making Margaritas in a blender powered by a small generator, play some put put golf, sit in a beach chair while wiggling your toes in the sand (they bring their own patch of sand and clean it up before the concert begins), chat with everyone, sing along with their Buffett music, folks will share their drinks with others passing by, smell folks grilling their ‘Cheeseburger in Paradise’, and so much more!!! You will love the music and the vibe!!! Rest in peace, Jimmy! You live forever in our hearts!!! 💚💚💚

The house that the White family lived in on the show has a sign outside that says something like "Take a picture from across the street. Please do not disturb us". They would also set up street cams to capture the traffic overnight and do sped up flash forwards to the next day. Which I thought was a beautiful, great idea/aesthetic to the show.
