I'm from Assam. The Mishing tribe, to be precise. I was once asked in Mumbai whether I'm from Tibet aha. Well, the Mishing tribe is from Mongolia/North-West China, so I guess I don't blame them for thinking like that.

I am Nepalese but my mom's great grandfather were from Assam and mom grew up in India and I grew up in northeastern part of India aswell so I can say I am half Indian and Nepalese 😅
December 2019, I went to Singapore for a dance competition and out there a girl from kerela intentionally spoke to me in some words like ''ching Chong blah blah blah" and when I asked her what did she mean she told me '' oh you ain't Chinese?" We went to Bhutan and a local lady of Bhutan asked me for an address as she thought I was a local but when I explained her that I was from Northeast India she said that I looked a lot like them and she doesn't know where Assam is.
