    I just tried this today for Christmas dinner. Delicious! I’m newer to air frying, so anyone else who is new just know you have to spray ALL the flour-y bits before you put it into the fryer. Before you flip halfway, spray any other flour-y parts, flip, spray the other flour-y parts and cook for remaining time. Good luck!

    So… I’ve been diving DEEP on RUclips looking for a good air fryer chicken recipe. FIRST OFF: No one’s after pic looks like THIS. Secondly: Those 2 secret ingredients are pure gold, I have never heard of doing that but OMG, it wooooorks. (Ps I brine my chicken before air frying to give me a little extra time to work with, do garlic, onion, lots of crushed red pepper flakes if you like spicy, kosher salt and sugar in a 3:2-ish ratio, and a few of your fave herbs). And 3RD *** & MOST IMPORTANT ***: the real trick here is that the process is egg, flour, oil, flour. The problem with “frying” chicken with the air fryer is the lack of delicious fat crisping up the flour… this process helps eliminate the burnt flour taste you get if you miss the addition of fat, like with other recipes. I hit it with a few extra sprays when I flip halfway (not a diet so I’ll take all the extra flavor) and maaaaan 💯💯💯

    • @paullb2440

      So there’s no final spray of oil before cooking after the second dip in flour? Just straight in the fryer, so it is egg->flour->oil->flour->fry ?

      I tried this in my air fryer- what am I doing wrong? they came out like fingers of “The Thing” from Fantastic 4. I’ve gone and bought a deep fat fryer- perfect first time! Air fryer good for fatty stuff like sausages and bacon imo.

    • @stopit9280
      @stopit9280 2 года назад +2

      @@paullb2440 Yeah. I think dry stuff struggles in the air fryer. Even though french fries cook well in an air fryer, then get cold and soft and soggy quickly.
      Air frying some chicken (with skin on or fattier cuts like chicken thighs) is easy though.

    After the second time putting the chicken in the flour, would you douse it again with the olive oil spray or put it into the air fryer right away?

    • @stevee7774
      @stevee7774 3 года назад +1

      This is a good question, it seems like you would want to spray it again to keep from having any dry or uncoated flour going into the cooker. I don’t know but I’m thinking I would hit it again before cooking.

      ye. sound like respraying is a good idea. my iar fryer has "fat reducing technology" which basically blows all the excess oil off, but it blows so much off it doesnt really fry that good. i think the double coating of oil (rather than the double coating of batter which i tried last time) would turn out better. still have to test it first tho :o
