- Self ligation braces are a newer type of braces which have an inbuilt self lock mechanism. Due to this no elastics are needed to tie the braces to the wire. You can have braces that do not turn yellow at all.
Also this method is quicker and causes less discomfort than normal braces.

I have a open bite problem...my upper jaw 4 incisiors can't be ligating with the lower jaw incisiors...can self ligating braces are the best option for the rectification of my issues?
I want to ask that if jaw is small and teeth are already overlapped... There is no space... And also we don't want extraction... Is it possible to align them with these self ligating braces ? (Without making a bigger & outward semicircular alignment of teeth)

Doctor, my last molar bracket fell off. I have self-ligating braces and I live far far away from my orthodontist. Note: My original dental situation was canine milk tooth extraction (upper jaw) followed by braces to bring the new permanent canine out.

Also, regarding your situation, the molar bands are most useful when the back teeth need to be moved more. They provide a sort of support to the braces. So, if the bands have come off and you can not visit immediately, do not worry. I would advise you to keep the band with you till the next appointment and get it fixed then.

Hi Doctor Shristi, I am watching this video after actually having fitted the self ligating braces. The Doctor at the clinic explained the types and I happened to select the Self ligating. Very happy to hear you saying that it is no bad to select this type of braces as it will give wonderful result after the treatment. Now, I am in peace that the money spent would be worth. I am from Bangalore and started my treatment today. My problem to choose the braces treatment is, My upper front 4 tooth are in step like shape. They are not linear and symmetrical. Because of this asymetrical my smile has adverse affect and have become conscious while smiling. Thank you making the video to explain the Self Ligating type.

SL braces are a good option for a variety of cases. They work well in open bite too.

Aap braces ke baad retainers being tho pehnenge na, wo relapse rokne ke liye hi hote hai. Mostly 2 years aapko wo pehne bolenge and then it should be fine
