    All I hear is Bijan this, Bijan that. Gibbs is my guy. I would choose him over Bijan. I’m glad the media is hyping Bijan. He can go first, and then my Eagles don’t have to go up as high to get Gibbs. But Gibbs will be the best of the two backs. Mark my words!
    10/28/23- I’m writing this after the 1st round of the draft. As an Eagles fan, I’m very excited how the draft turned out for the birds. However, I was hoping to get Gibbs. I did not expect him to go that high. To Lions fans, you got the best of the two backs. No disrespect to Bijan.

      I wouldn't take him over Bijan just because Gibbs is a terrible pass blocker. He is however the best receiving back in the draft and you could line him up anywhere on the field whether it be RB, Slot Receiver or WR. He is for sure the most versatile. (I'm a Bama fan)

    My comp for Gibbs is Jamaal Charles. Identical height/weight, similar 40 time, change of pace back in college, and obvious home run ability. Perfect fit for RB by committee and good for multiple splash plays a game. Lord help us if the league lets Andy Reid get ahold of him.

His release out the backfield for his options Routes which he will be ask to do in the NFL. Also pass blocking is part of the passing game, he just can't free release every snap. Teams will game plan that. He is very Good, but Raw. The OC in Detroit Ben Johnson who I shared a QB room with in college at UNC-CHAPEL understand that about the game. That's why he was drafted. They wanted a RB that could help them in the passing game and make plays out the backfield. Way cheaper to drafted a RB in Round 1 than pay him 8 million a year as the going rate for RB with the same skill set.

      @barbaraGobert31 Год назад

      No not really. I been a saints and LSU fan all my life ( 33 of my 44 years) you want a real comparison for Gibbs aside from all the idiotic Jamaal Charles and Alvin Kamara ones? Think Reggie Bush a half step slower,lil more power, and more 3 down potential at the nfl level. Go look at bushes numbers and tape 🤔 yup that's right lol. 😂still a great player but it puts it in perspective. Just goes to show you how far the draft process has come in 17 years doesn't it? Bush was considered a top 5 prospect and went #2 overall. Gibbs, being virtually the same player only a little better/stronger,and minus the extra year of production Bush had, is ranked about #32 in the class. They're getting alot better at projecting them at the nfl level than they were just that long ago. Gibbs is a great player, dont get me wrong, and I wouldn't be upset at all if the saints drafted him at #29 that's more of the type of back he will be at the pro level though. He won't be Jonathan Taylor and be able to play all 3 downs on every series or net you 1400 to 1600 yards a year in his good years. He'll prolly gain between 900-1100 yards on the ground and catch between 50 and 80 balls at around 10 yards a reception. He will probably score a handful or so of tds at both, rushing an receiving so 5/5 or 4/5 or 6/5 something like that my dude. He will be Faulk like and Bush like, but he doesn't have the inside rushing ability of Faulk, or as much three down potential, he will be closer tk the Bush end of the spectrum. At the end of the day I will say this. He is a player that could help you win a superbowl no doubt, but you'll need another guy or two in your RB room that specializes in short yardage, like Jamal Williams or Taysom Hill ( two of my saints short yardage guys 😊❤⚜️)

To me Gibbs falls into an "above average" spot on the spectrum between those two players( Reggie Bush and Marshall Faulk).They're all three almost identical in size and athletic testing as well.He will be good, and if he can stay healthy and land in a spot with a coach that knows how to use him...say, SEAN PAYTON in Denver, he should definitely prosper.

      Another jamaal Charles comparsion...I look and see a guy that's nothing like Charles. Similar size and 40, that's it, completely different styles. Am I the only one who remembers Reggie Bush or am I that old? May I ask how old you are? Just curious about the age bracket of the people with the Jamaal Charles comparisons...wondering if they're around 24-26 and don't remember Bush cause they were 4 or 5 then. Charles breakout year was 2009, which would mean if the folks making the comparison started watching football around the same age I did (10 or 11) that would make them probably about that old. He( gibbs) also compares very favorably to another older breakaway back who was leaving the league as Bush entered it named Marshall Faulk. If you can't remember Bush you definitely won't remember him. I think Gibbs will be Bush 2.0, and be a little better running inside, and has a little more 3 down potential. Leaving off the 40 times which are similar ( both in the 4.3s)and just comparing them on film, Bush looks a half step faster in the open field, but like I said Gibbs looks better running up the middle,even though it'll prolly never be a strength.

    The closest NFL RB comp for Gibbs has to be Tony Dorsett..
    I'm not sure he's as fast or explosive as Dorsett but he's a very similar runner . Very dangerous with every touch . Absolute home run ability.. he's a touchdown just waiting to happen..
    If he goes to a team with a OC who knows what he's doing this kid is going to be great.

      Gibbs first 40 time was a 4.4 you all are putting ENTIRELY too much stock in a couple of hundredths of a second as it relates to 40 times for these player comparisons. Gibbs is similar to Reggie Bush or Marshall Faulk,closer to the Bush end of that spectrum than the Faulk end though as far as running inside/short yardage,but having a little more 3 down potential than Bush. I look more at style and size plus production as it relates to player comparison. Also to me it's pretty clear that Gibbs is a "breakaway back" and not a "receiving back" same thing Bush was and Faulk, all three are/were breakaway backs.

      Yikes...im from louisiana and a saints fan. It would likely look like having two Jamar Chases to tbh. Burrow and the short pass/screen game would definitely get the most out of him,you'd see alot of breakaway runs and breakaway screens for Tds. Double your ability to score outside the red zone effectively as well. He isn't a true three down back though...you'd need a short yardage guy for 3rd and short. He can run inside some on early downs but if the defense is keying on the inside run 3rd and short that's a different story. He could even play on 3rd and 4 or greater as well. Just need the short yardage guy. Saints have a couple good ones in Williams,Taysom Hill, and eno Benjamin. They try to avoid running kamara on short yardage.

      You're a vikings fan? Yeah that COULD work...if your OC was a lil more creative and had say a set of special plays and packages for Kellen Mond like the saints do Taysom Hill, Gibbs paired with that along with the screen/receiving game with cousins and you would really have something...especially if you kept poor Dalvin another year or two and lessened his workload and let him run mainly inside like the Cowboys did Zeke, you all could be prolific on offense. Not unstoppable mind you (unless mond is a superstar and we don't know it, though it is possible) but approaching it. That's an offense I could see giving superbowl chances this season for the Vikings despite all the defensive problems. But hey SKOL man, and good luck in the upcoming season.
