Molby's goal against Norwich............As an Ipswich fan I love it but from where it was and the power he hit it with, good job the net was there otherwise half the kop would have been decapitated! Fantastic player, brilliant vision and the ability the play the perfect pass at the perfect time. Case in point, the build up to the reds third in the cup final, 1986. That pass to Ronnie Whelan changed the game.

At his peak, possibly in the same class as Coventry's Lloyd McGrath.

Molby was quality but he wasn't a match winner where as Gascoigne could be, I don't really want to knock Molby at all but when the greats started leaving Molby wasn't all that which tells me he was a very good player in a great team in the 80's

Stephen Williams you could argue that Gascoigne was a big fish in a little pond for much of his club career. Achieved very little at Lazio, for example, only playing about 40 games in 3 seasons. To say Molby wasn't a match winner wold suggest you didn't follow Liverpool during this period. Just take the 1986 FA Cup where he scored a vital equaliser in a game away at Watford, set up the vital winner for Rushy in the semi final and was instrumental in all 3 goals as we went on to win the final. Not a match winner? I can't agree with that.

Gazza had big injury issues his whole career...Molby seems to have played for 12 years at top without major problems...that has to come into evaluation..if Gazza was that durable i would have Gazza but he wasnt so maybe you have to fade Gazza

@@BS-jr3dl I judge Gazza on Newcastle, Spurs & Italia 90 days … When he had his serious injury in 91 he was never gonna be the same again ……. Molby was good but he was never the player Gazza was, not even close
