Memoirs of a Geisha was one of Zhang Ziyi's best movies that I've seen and instead of doing martial arts, she was dancing. The movie reunited her with Michelle Yeoh, who was also in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. She is an amazing actress and will always be remembered for Rush Hour 2. She did a great job in this movies using her dancing skills in Memoirs of a Geisha.
I like that she doesn't do that whole "trying to look americanized" thing. The circle lenses thing...why would people do that? Actually, when I was little, I wanted asian eyes, because I thought they were pretty. I still think that asian people have naturally pretty, unique eyes, without the surgery/ enhancements. :]
That's not true. A lot of people like her. From what I've read, the only reason why people dislike her is because they don't think she deserved the attention that she's getting because there are actresses that are a lot prettier or act better than her in China. Almost everyone loved her in The Road Home. I think, after that, she sort off on the extravagant road and left simple, sweet movies. But the Chinese are still generally proud of her achievements.
She is the perfect woman, period. most people have little minor imperfections like one eye bigger than the other or their ear sticks out a bit. She has none. She's like a porcelain doll. btw the correct pronouciation of her name sounds like this "Jahng Dz Yee" I still can't say it proberly.
