I tried to reproduce my digital coloring style using the gouache technique! I'm happy with the result 🌸
It’s because gouache is so opaque. I absolutely love them.
For those who's wondering how she get that crisp and digital-ish style, it's actually because of the gouche. You see, watercolour and gouche are in the same category but have some differences. For example, gouche have more pigment than watercolour does, making the colour more vibrant than watercolour. This is also why you can work from dark to light with gouche, unlike watercolour, gouche is less transparent and more opaque, this is why with watercolour, you couldn't work from light to dark because of the transparency and you couldn't get the colour so vibrant like how gouche does. So for those who still want to use a watercolour-like medium while still getting the digital look, y'all can use gouche. ^^ hope this helps y'all uwu

I think having a good brush is also very important. I will never be able to achieve that crispy look with my poor 10 year old brushes. And I can't find a brush similar to hers in my local stores :(
@@magpielle that's also one of the important factor when using gouche, using a good brush can really achieve that crispy look because of the accuracy and the quality of the brush
Your English is fine! Just a correction: with watercolor you couldn't work from dark to light! Light to dark is actually the way to go!

Would you ever consider doing a tutorial? Considering how clean and simple it looks it looks like it’s a pretty simple painting method once you establish water to paint ratio. I want to try this painting style!

Yes, the painting is very crisp and very nice and appealing to the eye but are we just going to ignore the fact that THE PICTURE IS ABSOLUTELY STUNNING like I've been drawing all my life ( I'm 13) and still cant get an anime girl to look that good I love the art it made my day. This looks like digital art! When i was a kid my parenta bought for me guache ink because it is easy to clean my clothes. Abd i used to mix guache with water and use it as watercolor. I didnt know i could use it that way. Anyway, awesome art.
