Where would you install the Lava Akustik diffusorbers?
Very Very Encouraging. Thank you Thomas.
This video has me considering whether to do my new room lengthwise sideways... Thanks, can't wait to see if this makes the sound better for you
🤣
I'm happy for you. Keep going.
That’s why Trinnov Nova is great. The phase alignment and volume match is amazing…. I see you kept the WA1B. I love it and use that sucker everyday
oeh i might look into the nova!
@@thomasvopstal it’s great man.
Lol about the neighbours!🤣
Great video, thanks! Can you tell more about your SSL Console?
Hi Thomas, in a narrow room like yours (from what I can see from RUclips) it is preferrable to put the desk on the short side 8as you did). However, that window is not ideal: the glass will cause lots of reflections and reflections may cause cancellation. Of course you can use acoustic curtains at the expense of the view. Another thing: in REW you should not only look at the SPL graph, but also Impulds grpah and the waterfall graph.
These should be your goals:
- SPL deviation no more than +/-6dB compared to you zero level SPL
- Impulse graph (check the Enveolpe (ETC ) and set it to %) should be descending with peakd less than 10%
- Waterfall grapho should not show decay times higher than 300 ms (and, in case of decays longer than 300 ms, the difference between highest and lowest levels at a specific frequency should be bigger than 25-30 dB)
This is how to properly measure your room. You should then use treatment (acoustic panels) to chatch reflections and absorbs soundwaves. Here, the lower then frequencies you need to manage the thicker the panel. You should look at the Waterfall graph to identify the problematic frequencies (if any).
There are also room modes to be consider (and the easier way to manmage room modes is to move the listening position).
Moving your desk away from the window should already be beneficial (having the speakers so close to the corner is almost guarantee of issues with low end, meaning you will hear a lot of low end thus your mixes/master would result weak since you have the impression there's a lot of low end but it's not).
Ideally you should try to improve the acounsti of the room as much as possible before using correction like SonarWorks SoundID or IK Multimedia ARC 4 (which I would recommend).
Have fun!
what's the link for the measurement scale you used/
absorbs users 5:21 😂🤣
hahahahha
Brennenstuhl 19" powersockets, kijk maar even op Thomann.
what ad converter do you use with the ssl console?
An apollo x8 right now!
Try: ARC Studio ✨✌🏻
ARC is quite nice I have to say, I am using it right now and my studio is the best I have ever heard. I also like that you can get in the eq yourself although I would like some more control (more bands/q factor change)
why not put it on the back wall where the guitar is hanging/couch area?
The absorfusors?
@@thomasvopstal the whole desk setup, reverse the orientation
@@raggedrec i wouldn’t be able to enter the room then, thats the door to my bedroom and my kitchen
Also, the couch cant go anywhere but there
@@thomasvopstal who needs sleep and food :) get uber eats to climb up to balcony :D
Doggo 😂😂
It's simple, you need to move to a better place with the wall space and all the dimensions you need, no neighbors that excercise in front of you, and no neighbor above that sends water into your gear. MOVE!
I agree! Do you have a new apartment for me?😁
This is a gear salesman hidden as a RUclips channel. They’ve never made a song, testing expensive gear with 2 second laptop productions. A studio that’s never finished. It’s a gear salesman. Trust me. He doesn’t know anything.
Shiiiit i hoped it took people a little longer before figuring me all out😂
@@thomasvopstal I enjoyed your tour of the factory where they refurbish consoles. Though that too was a very gear salesman video to make 🤔.
@@Ryan-rn3cf haha ok sure. Could you just tell me what gear it is i sell? Just so i know where to go to get my money?😂
