dont listen to the haters dude, tbh imo ur voice is super calming and nice to listen to and the editing of the videos are great! and the writing of your videos is just AMAZING cuz its one of the main reasons people stick to the end cuz the writing is really interesting!
Uncharted 2 is my favorite game of all time. The plot, script, characters, pacing, and set pieces are so incredible. And this isn't nostalgia talking, either. I purchased and played the series for the first time in 2020. The thing with the Uncharted series, though, is that you can say any of them is your favorite, and it's a valid opinion. The quality is that consistent.
I am a massive Drake’s Deception fan. I just love the setting, music and set pieces. It’s awesome. Story could’ve been so much better if Talbot had some supernatural side (e.g. he was some ancient guy who was on Francis Drakes voyage trying to free the djinns (who were real in this scenario))
Uncharted 3 was the most disappointing game in my opinion. But then I'm currently Uncharted 4 and this game is a 12/10. It actually made me cry something no game has done to me in years.
@@taelin-rh3wiuncharted 4 was a complete let down compared to uncharted 3. Uncharted 3 had a myriad of places to explore and amazing sequences whereas 4 as just a dull jungle-snow type terrain
@@SadisticNinja Hot take huh. Funny. Then why did Uncharted 3 feel worse than Uncharted 2? Legit the best part of uncharted 3 is the Syria section and that was for only like 3 - 4 chapters at most out of like 20. Also the backstory of young Nathan meeting Sully was cute but it doesn't hold a candle to Sam and Drake exploring Evelyn's mansion as kids and then finding out how Nathan changed his middle name to Drake and the same for Sam. It was so profound and that it made me cry thinking about my first time meeting Drake in Uncharted 1 and it was truly special. I will admit the combat in Uncharted 3 was better than 2. But that was about it.
UC4 for me, because it completed the story arc perfectly, followed by UC2, then UC1 then UC3. But absolutely brilliant series. Loved each of them in their own way.
@@sanga3674just play from 1 through 4, they do talk about events in the previous games in 4 and you know the characters better so yeah play 1, 2, and 3 and then play 4.
@@sanga3674There's references to the previous games but playing UC4 first will more so ruin the other games for you gameplay wise. Not so much in story. They made some qol improvements all round for the last game. It's graphically superior to a significant extent. The first three games will feel very repetitive if you play them back to back. You want the best time I would indeed skip to UC4. It is fantastic playing it for the first time.
My first Uncharted game was Drake's Deception back in 2013. It was the game that I replayed the most. The atmosphere and set pieces were beautiful and the gameplay was addictive. When the ps4 came out, I bought it with Uncharted 4 and the Nathan Drake Collection. I must have spent half of 2016 just replaying these games
I’m probably gonna try to get my hands on the Nathan Drake Collection some time soon because my PS4 came with Uncharted 4 and I’ve been longing to play it but I don’t want to get confused in the story. Hope it’s worth it!
@@jaceuhn8497 It is worth it !!! You're going to have a great time, especially if you play them in order I wrapped up Nathan's story(again 🤣)a month back and it couldn't end better Hope that Naughty Dog will leave Uncharted as it is, a beautifully crafted story
I hope not. Cause the series already ended on a great note with no loose ends. We don't want an Uncharted game that fails to live up to what has been done. And after 4 has pushed the ps4 for (and what can be done with shallow gameplay), what other set pieces can be that can be even better than 4? Cause 4 has the best set piece in the series. Driving through a city and trying to run away from an armoured svu, jumping from vehicle to vehicle, it's hard to top that. And do we really want this to go to the line of Indiana Jones? Where the later ones in the franchise feels strange and with a new one, we just want it to die off?
@@teneesh3376 I think a spin-off with Sully and Sam would be cool (that’s what Naughty Dog originally had planned I think). Another game with Chloe, or one with Cutter. Uncharted doesn’t have to be exclusively about Drake. Though I think the series could simply end where it is.
Ok so I know I already made a comment but I’m gonna do my list so 🤡 5. Drakes Fortune: it’s good but aged atrociously especially after playing the sequels 4. Lost Legacy: I found myself struggling to care for Chloe nearly as much as I cared for Nathan. Oh and why in the world wasn’t Cutter Chloe’s companion??? He is way more entertaining than Nadine and Chloe and him already know each other. I also don’t really care for the set pieces here. 3. Among Thieves: I LOVE this game it’s a 9/10 it took everything from the first one and made it infinitely better. I really don’t have any criticisms other than the fact that i don’t really vibe with the Shambala section. 2. Thieves End: This game is perfect but… 1. Drake’s Deception: I know deep down that 2 and 4 are better games but I’m a sucker for the set pieces. I adore the action in this game! Oh and I love how you can throw back grenades 😂
For majority of people it’s between 2 and 4, and I think it just depends on what you actually want out of these games. If you’re looking for good fun and a typical lighthearted adventure, you probably prefer 2. But if you’re someone who cares about an engaging narrative, definitely 4. To me 2 and 4 aren’t even comparable because they have such severely different scopes, and 4 is untouchable in my opinion. The characters and relationships presented in that game have more nuance than the first 3 games combined, but I know some people who just don’t care about that and really dislike the more serious approach that U4 took because they expected it to be another typical action flick. So I see both sides, but for me it will always be 4. It’s the perfect balance between a more serious game like the last of us and the lighthearted fun adventures of the first 3 uncharted games.
My problem with 4 is not because of a more serious tone it's because they reduced the action and I personally didn't find the story that engaging it felt cheap but tried to hard to tug at the heart strings for it's cheapness. 1.giving nate a brother who was never mentioned or hinted at in uncharted 3 when Marlow even basically she confirmed she knew all about nate father gave him to an orphanage/dead mother/ drake not really being his last name but no brother so it just felt like for 4 went "well need a reason to make it" and Sam was it and casting troy baker cheapened it further "well everyone won't question it because you know Joel Miller". 2. "It's not worth it we got nothing to prove" would've given credit here but 3 already did that plot and I know "it was more for Sam" still happened in 3. 3.felt sorry for rafe because i don't see him as full evil I just see him as broken everyone spat on the poor guy Because he had money from his parents? Still joined nate and Sam in prison when he could've waited outside and do nothing at all nate wanted to cut him out /provided Nadine with funds to find the treasure and went along to help and just got shit on by her/got Sam out of prison and again betrayed I can't blame him for snapping. 4.worst thing of all reduce of action i question why would someone go for an action adventure game and say they want less of it like don't buy an action game then because yeah thank you to any "fan" that asked for less action for an action game.
@@reeceburns8077 I see so many people criticize Sams existence for the specific reason that Marlowe didn’t mention him and I just never thought it was that big of a deal tbh. Yes it’s a plothole but honestly considering that the devs themselves did not know that they were gonna give Nate a brother, they implemented him surprisingly well in my opinion. The long lost brother trope is cheap yes but I think it’s done as well as it possibly can be here, and what we get out of it is a great character that brings new life to the series and that I wouldn’t trade for the sake of not having plotholes. I see how you could view Sam‘s storyline as just a rehash of what Nathan already experienced, but I think it’s deeper than that. Sam is basically a younger version of Nathan, in the sense that he hasn’t gone through the same character development and has missed out on so many crucial experiences that Nate made due to his time in prison. Nate on the other hand, while he may be pretending that he wants to live a normal life, has clearly not yet fully gotten over his obsession with treasure either. So what you get is the two of them going on what seems like a happy, thrilling and fun adventure, but everything starts to crumble as Elena finds out the truth and we and Nate learn that Sam lied. This provides extremely important development for Nate, Sam and even Elena to some extent. I don’t think that Nate and Elena were fully realized characters at the end of uncharted 3. If the series had ended there, they would have never come to the conclusion that while treasure is not worth risking their lives over, they’re also not the kinds of people who can just lead a normal life. I think uncharted 4 wraps these characters up wonderfully, and everything that Nate went through with Sam helped him get to that point. And this is just a personal thing but I adore the scenes were Nate and Sam were kids and that we got to see their origins. Regarding what you said about Rafe, I completely agree, I liked him a lot and I think his character should’ve been explored more. His motivations were clear and more interesting than just "evil guy wants to destroy the world" and he had every right to feel betrayed by the brothers. His death actually made me kind of sad, I mean if Nadine survived why couldn’t he as well? And about the action, that’s personal and you have every right to feel that way but I think it again comes down to the games trying to achieve two different things. The first 3 games provide plenty of mindless fun and action if that’s what you’re looking for, you can always go back to them and you’ll have a good time. Uncharted 4, at least in my opinion was aiming to be more of an experience, where you get a mix of action and story. Again it might not be everyone’s cup of tea but I was personally satisfied with the action, I think the setpieces are better and more memorable than ever and so is the gameplay. While it is still nothing special, there is more diversity to it. I still remember so many specific encounters of uncharted 4, and I can’t really say the same for the first 3 games. It just comes down to preference like I said but I do think this was intentional on the devs part because they were simply trying to create a different experience than what 1,2 & 3 already provided. Also I’m sorry if it just sounds like I’m mindlessly defending this game, like I said I see why it’s not for everyone and it’s far from perfect. I just wanted to give my opinion on some of the things you said but I still think your criticisms are valid ✌️
@@yinyin8769 well my thing with Sam and why I don't like it is because that was the answer to nate coming out retirement but to me personally I liked uncharteds 3 ending despite the games flaws if they had left it there I wouldn't of minded so I thought they needed a pretty good story to bring him back and giving him a brother just felt to convenient. And action wise I like quantity as much quality for example the graveyard ship and abduction in uncharted 3 I know there's flaws storywise but I love the action and set pieces and it goes on for a lengthy amount time uncharted 4 though as long as you're good at the action it's gonna feel like you're doing a lot more walking and talking and watching cutsncenes and every action set piece barely feels like it doesn't even last 2 minutes so it didn't deliver like for example a watch dogs game with barely any hacking a main gameplay element highly advertised then you get it and there's barely any hacking in it
Bro don’t worry about what people say you are one of the best reviewers, you say what’s real and it genuinely sounds like I’m just hearing a friend talking about video games you’ll always have a recurring viewer with me!
Uncharted 2 feels best when you actually get to experience a story of your own culture, which otherwise you could never experience and just hear about, love naughty dogs game for portraying a tale of indian mythology❤
It’s been an absolute joy to hear you express your love for this series over the past couple years or so. You’ve immaculately crafted such enjoyable love letters to these games while still addressing fair criticisms in an eloquent manner. I love being a subscriber of yours and can’t wait to see whatever you tackle next! ❤️🔥
Drake's Fortune still incites the most feelings of nostalgia for me. Every time I play it I appreciate it, though sometimes the difficult portions of the game like the jetski annoy me. I platinumd the game recently too.
@@hi_676the mechanics... I don't think any uncharted fans hate it. In fact I don't think any uncharted fans even don't like it. It's just noticeably dated compared to the others. I go back and do the entire series every 2 3 years. Well I love Drake's Fortune You can feel the gap and gameplay.
17:05 man, you described exactly what happened to me. The reason why the Uncharted series is so special to me is because I used to play videogames a lot before playing Uncharted, and even though I loved it, I just didn't care that much, but once my father came home with a PS3 and both Uncharted 1 and 2 came with him, man, it changed... from that point on, I started to really love games and, also, see it in a different way. Nowadays I do have some games I consider to be better than Uncharted, but not a single one of them is so special to me as this series is.
I actually think there’s depth to Rafe. His entire character is one that has everything handed to him. Even up to his death Nate hands him his treasure and death and his legacy as one of the many people to have been beaten by the great Nathan Drake in his supposedly heroic fictional stories like all the ones previously mentioned. A myth that few could believe happened.
If there's going to be a next game, I think the direction is actually quite straight-forward: Cassie Drake following in her father's footsteps to a life of adventure. I'd be okay with Nate filling the Sully role from that point
Hey man, about your "rant" at the end: I'm glad you decided to just keep on doing what you feel is genuine to who you are. I really hate the current state of RUclips because of how most creators feel so fake, with over-edited videos and fake personas. Your channel was a breath of fresh air when I first found it because you actually felt like you enjoyed talking about the games you were talking about, it's like you're "one of us", we love these games and there's nothing more fun than discussing them! Please just keep making videos as yourself, that's the thing I like most about your videos (even when I don't agree with the premise, like in the TLOU II case). And your voice is fine lol you sound completely normal
I still can’t believe how much hate Nadine got. I thought it was so cool that after years of tearing through soldiers like they were nothing, there is one enemy that Drake never gets to beat in a fight. And not only that, both fights you have with her are sort of played for comedy anyway
Nadine is a boring ass character She just doesn’t have any sort of charisma Charm Or ways of entertaining us gamers And she seem way too overpowered and overhyped of being this strong badass But other than that She’s just plain boring Doesn’t know how to create anything interesting
@@akihikosanada2020 I always felt the criticism was weird and underserved. Like, from a basic storytelling standpoint, it makes sense for there to be an antagonist the protagonist cannot easily beat or get the upper hand on as it forces the protagonist to be the underdog and work harder to scrape by. The prior Uncharteds also did this. Nate didn't get a win over Lazy until the very end of the game. Before that, Lazy had the upper hand the whole way through. Same for Marlowe/Talbot. Nadine both fits this role and the story Uncharted 4 was going for as this more grounded tale of obsession. Her skills as a martial artist justify why Nate (who doesn't have any formal combat training) can't beat her in a fight. And she contrasts with Rafe who has the money but neither the skill and talent to do things Nate can and is jealous about it. So you have the incompetent boss using his underlings and the competent second in command being forced to go along with it. Plus, Nate has more in common with Nadine and neither realize it. Both are going on this mission due to the obsession of others rather than because they want to. Like, that's way more interesting that what Talbot had going on lol.
@@FraserSourisYa Marlowe and Talbot. Felt like they were just THERE. Like I was disappointed with the considering how great Lavarific was and always will be. Lavarific was an actual threat while M and T had no presence.
@@taelin-rh3wi I believe the idea with Marlowe and Talbot was that they were meant to be more of a "psychological" threat to Nate instead of a physical threat like how Laz was. Like, Nate couldn't just go and punch Talbot because Talbot had the means to escape and use his resources to misdirect Nate. Like if Lazaravic is like Bane, Talbot/Marlow are supposed to be more like Penguin/Scarecrow from Batman. The problem however, is that U3's story doesn't do a great job in explaining and showcasing that. Like, Amy Henning had to explain on Twitter that the reason how Talbot could escape so easily was because he was using bulletproof vests and grappling hooks because we never saw that in the game. Talbot and Marlowe are simultaneously too powerful and too weak/useless. They are capleable of using advanced mind control darts..... that they don't know is no longer working. They are hands on.....until they are hands off and working with incompetent luientents like that pirate captain. The end result is that like you said, they lack presence.
For me I'd go 1. Uncharted 4 2. Uncharted Lost Legacy 3. Uncharted 3 4. Uncharted 2 5. Uncharted 1 I haven't played the portable Your videos have been great, they've almost always be great, do whatever you need I know it'll be awesome
I've been watching and loving your content for a while now, you'll never please everyone. You've got to make work you're happy with, and then the right audience will stay to watch. Keep up the good work
Uncharted 4 drop to 3rd and my rank is not including the spinoffs. I hold Uncharted 3 in the #2 spot just for the presentation in what they pulled off with the effects. From fire, water and sand effects alone make me respect that game and Uncharted 2 been the GOAT since the 3 minutes trailer I watch one e3
as someone who just played through the uncharted games for the first time, i would rank them like this from best to "worst": 1. Uncharted 2 (def had the best pacing, never a dull moment, great ensemble of characters, and a lot of memorable moments) 2. Uncharted - The Lost Legacy (agree with aqua on best gameplay and i really enjoyed the banter between chloe and nadine and later on sam) 3. Uncharted 4 (best story in the series and it offers a great send-off to Nate, however at times this game felt a bit dragged out for the sake of making the game longer thus why I also preferred Lost Legacy a bit more due to its "tighter" narrative) 4. Uncharted 3 (wasn't as memorable as the other games and for some reason the gameplay felt a bit more sluggish in comparison to UC2 imo, the sections in the desert were cool however) 5. Uncharted 1 (it's a product of its time and def appreciate it for what it is, but i can't see myself going back to it when i was to play an uncharted game again)
I think your voice is absolutely great, the editing is awesome and everything you say is interesting. You are on point man, feel whatever you think it's the best for you, the numbers go up and down, youtube is a mean platform, so don't take care about "what will work or not", because the algorithm youtube has is trash. Yeah bro, try not to worry about those comments! I watch you for a lot of the retrospectives and sometimes yours are my go to because they aren’t all 2 hours like other channels. Loving the content bro, keep it going 👊
As someone who has struggled/is currently struggling with feelings of inadequacy I feel the need to tell you that I love your videos and you are one of the first channels I go to when I want a video or if i need to just listen whilst grinding a game or running errands. Never let negative comments get you down because your videos are amazing quality and as long as you love what you do there will be people like me watching and enjoying the entire ride.
I recently discovered your channel and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! You're amazing quality content creator and this video was excellent! I really enjoy your way of viewing the games and the fact that you aren't afraid to like some newer games despite a lot of people hating on them, your views are objective from my point of view and you don't get blinded by nostalgia when it comes to rating all games from certain game franchise which is a rare thing. Also I applaud you for confronting some of your insecurities at the end of the video instead of hiding it, do what you like the way you enjoy it and don't get bothered by people talking nonsense, I personally really like your voice, I found it very relaxing and your scripts feel very natural so that even when I watch some of your longer videos, the time flies really fast because it's all greatly put together! I look forward to your future videos and I would really like if you would do a review of Shadow of the Tomb Raider as it is the only one missing from the recent trilogy on your channel.
I actually have a lot of fondness for Golden Abyss. I really enjoyed collecting all of the treasures, because they each had anecdotes and stories about the world of the game. I also liked that there were things like pictures and charcoal rubbings to collect. I just really enjoy it even with all of the gimmicky jank.
i genuinely think no uncharted game is "bad". Even the first one, for its time was such a great game. Playing it now, yes, it feels old and dated but that game back in the day was really incredible and yes, 4 is by far the best one and one of the best games ever made. All in all i think the uncharted series is timeless and its for sure one of the best series in gaming.
It’s been almost 10 years since I played Uncharted for the first time, it’s my favorite game franchise, my favorite game EVER is uncharted 4, it’s the magnificence of the saga in one video game, I didn’t use to like Sam, but with the time I started to like his character, every year that passes I just like Uncharted 4 more and more
having recently replayed UC4 and Lost Legacy, I think it's worth mentioning just how much better the combat is in LL. Crushing difficulty in UC4 really exposes how many problems the sticky cover and dual-function circle button can cause in environments with overly complex geometry. The combat areas in LL were clearly designed with the limitations of the controls in mind. Even though the actual controls are essentially identical to UC4, it feels much, much nice to play, just because the level design is so much better.
At some point in my life, each of these games have been “the best”. I’ve gone back and forth so many times over the years. Drake’s Fortune was the best because it seemed like the only game that actually fit the title. A completely Uncharted island, filled with interesting mysteries and a great cast of characters. Uncharted 2 was the best at one point because it raised the bar so high, for all games. The opening scene is iconic, the action set pieces were incredible, the story is really fun , and it’s just a better constructed game than the first one. Not to mention, it had an amazing multiplayer too. Uncharted 3 was the best at one point entirely because of the big moments. I think the plane sequence is still one of the best action scenes I’ve ever seen. The cruise ship is awesome too. The sand is beautiful, shooting and swimming is a fun mechanic. And I think it has a better story than 2. All of those games are great, but as I’ve matured I think the best Uncharted game is Uncharted 4. Recently replayed it on ps5 and it’s still a masterpiece. The narrative is easily the best in the series, the gameplay is much improved, you spend half the game in a completely uncharted island, the chase sequence is another one of the best action sequences ever, and there’s a bigger focus on exploration in a series that I’ve always felt should have had a little bit more. The chapter where it’s just Nate and Sam on a boat, exploring a couple small islands, is an underrated gem. Plus, I just think a pirate adventure is so much more fun than the other games.
Naughty Dog just knows how to make good games. Played every uncharted (except golden abyss) at least 2 times and i loved every minute of it, but the best game i have ever played has to be The last of us, the story is just incredible. I would love to see a video about TLOU and your opinion on the 2 games.
My list from worst to best: GA - U1 - U2 - LL - U3 - U4 I agree with your sentiment that U2 benefits a lot from rose tinted glasses, for a slightly different reason. The PS3 Uncharted games were very much products of their era, and I'm always a bit annoyed that those games put so much emphasis on the combat and violence, instead of having slower non-violent sections that lets you explore the levels thoroughly or enjoy a intimate character moment in peace. U4 and LL showed that you can mix the old high octane Uncharted formula with these slower sections that works to contrast against those action moments, and it makes everything more memorable. The chapter in U4 where you get to just explore a crop of islands in the middle of the sea is one of my favorite Uncharted chapters ever, it just feels so refreshing in the context of the entire series. But still, I would at least rank U3 higher than LL. There's a lot of really elaborate puzzles and set pieces that will stick in my mind, even if they're not the most gameplay intensive. Also I really liked the hallucination section in the last act, despite the annoying djinns. I also find the villains to be one of the most memorable, right behind Nadine and Rafe. Not to mention the middle eastern influenced soundtrack slaps so hard. And yeah I also would still put LL below U4 despite the gameplay improvements. You can't take U4 for granted, there's a lot of games/movies/TV franchises that would kill to have a series ending of this quality. It also took me a while to fully enjoy Nadine and Chloe's dynamic. Also, the chapter where you get to climb that big tower in Madagascar then chase Sam on a jeep is easily my favorite chapter in the series. I replay U4 the most out of these games, I just find it to be so cozy. Great video btw, I have been subbed for a while but I missed a lot of your recent videos, will catch up soon.
@@cvxgaming6855 same I remember playing the first 3 all in a week and while two was definitely amazing 3 was just crazy in a good way the plane surviving in the desert just unmatched
Uncharted 2 is my favorite one everything just feels on point to me. The controls the shooting . Then Uncharted 4 technically the best bigger levels more verticality. DC in the number 3 I think it’s got the best set pieces from the crumbling chateau to falling out of the plane. It’s high octane the hand to hand is improved but the enemies feel janky and spongy they all just run around crazy not strategic like U2. Lost Legacy more of the same but you get the jeep and more exploration. Drakes Fortune is the catalyst and I prefer the ps4 version the ps3 I hated skipped it entirely after I played the demo with the gimmicky tilt stuff and weird villains that dip and dodge gunshots like agent smith in the matrix. It’s a thorough adventure tho I enjoyed it.
I'm the guy who plays this and try to never use a pistol. I'm a g.o.a.t. with automatic in these games. Plus I never die in these games and it's my favorite franchise in gaming. I played and own part 2 before I played one. I played these games when they were new and watched the subway marketing and trailers. It easily became my favorite games ever. My favorites specifically in this order. 2 "3 "4 and 1. Great video bro 👍
I finally played through Spec Ops: The Line for the first time and my god the story is a masterpiece. No other game has ever made me actually think about the things we gamers usually do in games without batting an eye and actually made me feel uncomfortable over them on several occasions. Would love to see you make a video on it someday since even though the gameplay is very average even for it's time it absolutely should be experienced by everyone who can stomach it! Anyway keep up the amazing videos!
Aqua, I LOVE your videos! Especially your Uncharted videos. I actually quite like your voice and find you easy to listen to for a long period of time. Keep up the awesome work, man!
Great video! Keep in mind, if you polish your flaws too much, you may smooth over any unique ridges you once had. You'll be featureless. Your channel is great and you should feel proud. I agree with this ranking btw. Honestly, 4 and Lost Legacy are the only ones with satisfying gunplay. The OG 3 feel so damn floaty imo.
My personal gripe with the Nadine fight is that Nate’s literally bulldozed thousands of people, but one military trained woman is too much of a handful. But it got even more ridiculous when Sam and Nate tag teamed her but still lost. I think Bricky(?) had a video on Thief’s End that explained that it would’ve been much better if it was really damn hard to beat her but if you were just *that* good, you could and still have an alternate route for the story to progress in the same way. I highly recommend all 4 of his videos on the Uncharted series, they go super in-depth and it really reflects the passion of people who grew up with this series, just like this video does.
tanks for this video, to me uncharted also has a special place. uncharted 2 was a game I got with the ps3 and was like sure I can try this game. turned out to become my favorite game series ever.
Uncharted 3 had the absolute BEST soundtrack out of all of them. The music that plays during the Chateau escape and during the Stowaway mission is literally just as good as any Indiana Jones theme. It sounds like something John Williams would make with epic French horns and everything. Best action music Ive ever heard. Like....ever.
Don't listen to the negative people. Constructive criticism is one thing, but just negative remarks should be ignored. I love your videos and look forward to see what you are talking about next. He'll, your video on Unity pushed me to finally play it and it is now one of my favorite AC games. Keep up the good work and do things the way your enjoy to do them. Be proud and keep doing what you love.
Among Thieves is the best overall in terms of pacing, spectacle and story. Drake's Fortune has the best atmosphere of all the games, but the gameplay shows its age. A Thief's End is good, but it can be slow to get started in comparison to others. It also does not have a supernatural element, which was disappointing. Drake's Deception had great potential in Marlowe and Talbot for great villains, but they are disappointing. Marlowe needed more screen time given the fact that she was a bit of a psychological villain. There are also pacing issues and plot holes in Drake's Deception.
I've enjoyed watching your content on Uncharted through and through, and I was glad to see this video! It was cool so see you go in depth in specific categories at the end as well. While different opinions are valuable, I did have pretty much the same list as you. I would actually put Uncharted 3 over 2 unlike a lot of people, but I have all the same criticisms of 3 that you do, and I think that the passion that went into the storytelling and setpiece design does distract from what is a much less polished experience than Uncharted 2. But, I like sand and baddies in suits more than snow and Eastern European mercenaries, so its entirely an aesthetic thing for me. I look forward to seeing what is next for you.
If Uncharted were to come back for a 5th game I strongly think that Chloe needs to be the main protagonist moving forward. Lots of story to tell with her and she is basically the female version of Nathan Drake. I loved Lost Legacy and would love to see a full fledged game with her. With my boy Charlie Cutter
i agree, i wouldn't want another uncharted game with nate as a protagonist, simply since 4 ended with him in a great place narratively and rather than having a new character on the forefront, i think chloe would be the best pick
@@mathc856 This is my opinion, I did not enjoyed it as much as others uncharted. Still a good game compared to what recent games are but i do not like nadine & chloe combo and I won't enjoy playing them in another game. I do not say to make nate come back, just i don't like them very much.
I know you probably see this comment since I’m just a random comment in a pool of them. But as someone who has watched your videos for years now, I believe that your video essays are some of the best on this platform and don’t listen to people who are just trying to hate on you for no good reason. Your videos are consistently quality and that’s the best thing you could do as a RUclipsr.
I've always tried to read as many comments as I can, and seeing the encouragment that you and others have shown has made me so grateful. I can't thank you and everyone else enough!
honestly i didn't believe that someone else might have the same idea as mine about the lost legacy. in my opinion it would have been number if it was longer and have more depth to its story yeah but since the other games all focus on nate and built up lore for the U4 it was clear the lost legacy can't be first but if they release prequels or sequels to lost legacy that focus on chloe nadine (and Sam in sequels) i would honestly love more than a another game featuring nate. i really love the chemistry between those 3 non main characters
This comment isn't about the video just the conclusion. In my opinion, you should not listen to the comments giving you hate for the sake of it like saying your voice is annoying and stuff like that, making RUclips videos are supposed to be fun so make sure that's a top priority otherwise your going to burn yourself out and lose that passion. I think your videos are great and I always get excited when you post a new video. Just make sure not to overthink your videos and try not to please everybody because that's just not possible. Anyway sorry for going on a rant. Good Luck. :)
We absolutely need more incredible stealth focused action-adventure games. This and Tomb Raider are easily some of my favorite games, and I've never gotten into RPG or the Dark Souls type games that are so consistently huge with video game fans. I've played Hogwarts some since I am such a huge Harry Potter fan, but still haven't gotten far with it. The RPG nature of newer AC games has decreased my desire to play any of them either or get into some of the games I missed in that series. I hope they make more games like this. Spiderman has been incredible because it has a lot of the best elements from Uncharted too (stealth, great characters, fun dialogue, great combat, and awesome set pieces). But we could use more games in that realm.
Lost Legacy would actually be my #1, not just because the gameplay and pacing were just plain better than 4 (heck, as far as pacing goes, I think 2 is also better than 4), but also because of Chloe. She was my favorite character the minute she showed up in U2, and I honestly wish the franchise would go on with her at the helm, she's just such an awesome character.
Uncharted 1 to 3 are 10 hours games Uncharted 4 is 25 hours and Lost Legacy is about 12 hours. I could see why you say U4 has pacing issues it’s the longest Uncharted game.
I love Uncharted even more than my second favorite - the Mass Effect trilogy. Just an absolute joy to play. I just re-bought the Nathan Drake collection after playing the 4th and the Lost Legacy. Awesome stuff.
Aqua bro listen. I’ve been watching you for so long, i think my first vid that i watched of you was either an uncharted video or the Tetris effect video. (You are the reason that I’m addicted to Tetris and I’m happy for it.) You are an amazing content creator. I love your vids cause they offer such an in depth analysis of games that I’ve played and never thought of them the way you have. The way you analyse games is amazing. Don’t let haters get to you, i know its easier said than done but i mean it. Do these videos to state your opinions, not what other people want to hear. There are some comments that are there to help yo improve, they may criticize you but its for your own development. You just gotta know how to separate between haters and fans who provide criticism. I haven’t watched all your videos cause some of them are from games i haven’t played, but I’m sure those videos are great too. Love your vids bro, keep up the good work. Haters gonna hate, but in the end, you are the one catching W’s (Feel like the last sentence was cringe but allow it)
@@ThatBoyAqua YOU REPLIED LETS GOOOO!!! Genuinely made my day that you responded to me. And bro any work you put out I'm sure most of us are gonna enjoy, just some people gonna hate. You probably won't remember it since you get countless comments but its genuinely made my day that you responded bro. Love the work you put into all your vids, even if you feel like they aren't your best, no one can keep on producing the best of the best consistently, sometimes you gotta take it as it is. No matter the amount of effort you put in, I personally will always enjoy them. Keep up the amazing work
These games were extremely formative for me, including being my first love affair with multi-player online gaming back on Uncharted 2, so this is probably gonna be some nostalgia talking, but here is my ranking: 5. Lost legacy 4. Drake's deception 3. A thiefs end 2. Drake's fortune 1. Among thieves
The stories in uncharted have always impressed me especially for a video game. Part of the allure of uncharted originally was the cinematic cutscenes, the story, the acting, and the facial animations and motion capture. It's interesting that he doesn't like uncharted stories but I respect the opinion.
can you pls explain what was lacking for you in the story of the games because the main reason i love this series so much is the story (amazing video btw)
There are also inaccuracies in the game, specifically Among Thieves and The Lost Legacy. The 4x4s that each protagonist used in their respective game has its steering wheel on the left side, which are used by countries that drive on the right side of the road. However, they were driving in Nepal and India, respectively, and they drive on the left side of the road, meaning that the steering wheel is on the right side of the car, so this has made me a bit ticked that Naughty Dog did not consider the smaller details
Uncharted 3 still has the best Melee Combat with Square still for attacks but added with environment, Triangle for Dodge but now with counters as well as enemies will all try to get a hit in but we also have Circle for Grapples and Struggles where you have mash to overpower foes to grab them and the added Brutes while become somewhat of a meme as they kept using the same model thinking your fighting the same guy for several sections through besides the one on the ship but Brutes force you into combat as in some sections they be around the Corner and their attacks will disarm you dropping your guns and then using all three of the elements of Attacking, Countering and Mashing Grappling sequences and on harder difficulty you won’t see the buttons and will just have to remember the animations which to me was all pretty fun I wish they kept it the 4th game as they some downgraded taking out Brutes and Grapples but got improved animations but still Uncharted 3 is a Masterpiece to me
The only issue i have with the newer games is that they don't have as much action sequences, that they dropped some combat innovations from the third game and that they dropped my man Greg Edmonson, he made some of the most banger tracks
Also lost legacy was really really boring, the combat sequences were good, but the story is just so boring and the open world thing didn't really do as well as in uncharted 4
I just finished playing drakes fortune and oh my GOD I did bald. The jetski parts and the final boss one pumping me for an hour straight was sooo aggravating. The hardest mode just felt luck based on those parts.
Well said video. I agree with the list of "best" Uncharted games for the most part, although I would like to give my personal list of most "impactful" (ground-breaking) Uncharted games: Uncharted 2, Uncharted 1, Uncharted 4, Uncharted 3, The Lost Legacy, Golden Abyss. *Btw your voice does not sound weird to me at all. I watched the entire video and never once thought negatively about it. I actually thought it sounded like a good narrator voice without sounding like a robot 🤝

Preach . For me it’s Uncharted 3 but tbh every single one of them is a masterpiece
Fax, it’s one of the few series with no bad games
Uncharted 4/lost legacy for gameplay, uncharted 2/3/4 for the set pieces, 1/golden abyss is decent, the mobile game and card game on ps vita is shit
To me, Uncharted 4 was absolutely boring trash. Uncharted 3 was a big disappointment, but at least it had its moments.
Before I even watch this my choice is Uncharted 2

@revefamilyvideos3018 yeah, the story was a 9.5/11 but the multiplayer was a solid 9/11

I haven't play every game I am now I played uncharted 1 and I am just on 2 I heard only good things about it
I am a massive Drake’s Deception fan. I just love the setting, music and set pieces. It’s awesome. Story could’ve been so much better if Talbot had some supernatural side (e.g. he was some ancient guy who was on Francis Drakes voyage trying to free the djinns (who were real in this scenario))
Me too. I love this game! The multiplayer and split screen were so much fun!!
I had such a great summer playing U3 with friends
Do i have to play the previous games to play UC4 or the story isn't related??
@@sanga3674just play from 1 through 4, they do talk about events in the previous games in 4 and you know the characters better so yeah play 1, 2, and 3 and then play 4.
@@sanga3674There's references to the previous games but playing UC4 first will more so ruin the other games for you gameplay wise. Not so much in story. They made some qol improvements all round for the last game. It's graphically superior to a significant extent. The first three games will feel very repetitive if you play them back to back. You want the best time I would indeed skip to UC4. It is fantastic playing it for the first time.
How about the gameplay? Does it hold up to the others?
You're going to have a great time, especially if you play them in order

Hope that Naughty Dog will leave Uncharted as it is, a beautifully crafted story
Uncharted 3 was my first game on ps3 ever. It came either with the ps3 that I bought in 2013.
U3 came out in 2011
@@ryans413 Yeah I know, I bought a bundle two years after
Honestly, I wouldn't mind a continuation of the Uncharted Story with Drake's daughter and Drake taking on Sully's role.
Well Neil druckmann has already said that they won’t make another uncharted game but a sully/Sam spin off game would deffo be pretty cool
Can you imagine Nathan as an old man barely climbing up things when he used to go up 200m in minutes
Tbh I would like a prequel game to 4 with Sam working with Rafe
Ok so I know I already made a comment but I’m gonna do my list so 🤡
5. Drakes Fortune: it’s good but aged atrociously especially after playing the sequels
2. Thieves End: This game is perfect but…
1. Drake’s Deception: I know deep down that 2 and 4 are better games but I’m a sucker for the set pieces. I adore the action in this game! Oh and I love how you can throw back grenades 😂
You know. 3rd is my favorurite too and yeah, I am a sucker for set-pieces.
I loved the grenade throw back mechanic, it made crushing and brutal so much easier than the earlier games
I really liked how they focused on Nate and sullys relationship in the 3rd one and the desert section was 🔥
@@Drickster007 YES!!! The way that chapter wasn’t in his top 5 😭
me too 😂😂
For majority of people it’s between 2 and 4, and I think it just depends on what you actually want out of these games.
Get out of here with your well constructed arguments!
And action wise I like quantity as much quality for example the graveyard ship and abduction in uncharted 3 I know there's flaws storywise but I love the action and set pieces and it goes on for a lengthy amount time uncharted 4 though as long as you're good at the action it's gonna feel like you're doing a lot more walking and talking and watching cutsncenes and every action set piece barely feels like it doesn't even last 2 minutes so it didn't deliver like for example a watch dogs game with barely any hacking a main gameplay element highly advertised then you get it and there's barely any hacking in it
3 is better imo
2 was basic until we moved to Tibetan

Drake's Fortune still incites the most feelings of nostalgia for me. Every time I play it I appreciate it, though sometimes the difficult portions of the game like the jetski annoy me. I platinumd the game recently too.

Uncharted 2 will always be the peak of the series for me. Plus the MP & Co-Op i’ve put so many hours into it.
A myth that few could believe happened.
yeah hes the best uncharted villan imo but i wish the games went into more detail of him.
If there's going to be a next game, I think the direction is actually quite straight-forward: Cassie Drake following in her father's footsteps to a life of adventure. I'd be okay with Nate filling the Sully role from that point
Uncharted 4 is honestly my favorite game ever, coming above far cry 5, and Star Wars Jedi fallen order
Hey man, about your "rant" at the end:
I'm glad you decided to just keep on doing what you feel is genuine to who you are. I really hate the current state of RUclips because of how most creators feel so fake, with over-edited videos and fake personas. And your voice is fine lol you sound completely normal
After few months, I always end up playing all Uncharted games bcz these games are sooo goood and these Uncharted games are my childhood 😢❤
I still can’t believe how much hate Nadine got.
I thought it was so cool that after years of tearing through soldiers like they were nothing, there is one enemy that Drake never gets to beat in a fight. And not only that, both fights you have with her are sort of played for comedy anyway
You Just listed the reasons people don't like her. I don't mind her personally but I do understand the criticism
Nadine is a boring ass character
She just doesn’t have any sort of charisma
Charm
Or ways of entertaining us gamers
And she seem way too overpowered and overhyped of being this strong badass
But other than that
She’s just plain boring
Doesn’t know how to create anything interesting

Lost legacy is definitely the most polished uncharted game. However it’s missing the X factor of the series (Nathan, Sully, and Elena).
as someone who just played through the uncharted games for the first time, i would rank them like this from best to "worst":
1. Uncharted 2 (def had the best pacing, never a dull moment, great ensemble of characters, and a lot of memorable moments)
2. Uncharted - The Lost Legacy (agree with aqua on best gameplay and i really enjoyed the banter between chloe and nadine and later on sam)
3. Uncharted 4 (best story in the series and it offers a great send-off to Nate, however at times this game felt a bit dragged out for the sake of making the game longer thus why I also preferred Lost Legacy a bit more due to its "tighter" narrative)
4. Uncharted 3 (wasn't as memorable as the other games and for some reason the gameplay felt a bit more sluggish in comparison to UC2 imo, the sections in the desert were cool however)
Just keep doing what you like and many more people will stay
Thank you
I recently discovered your channel and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!
Literally playing the games again thanks to these videos. Just trying to get through the slow chapters in Uncharted 4s Scotland
Uncharted 2 followed by Uncharted 1 for sure. All that supernatural stuff, the atmosphere etc. Just unbeatable.
i genuinely think no uncharted game is "bad".
The uncharted series is just undefeated, definitely peak gaming and I just really enjoy it
Naughty Dog just knows how to make good games. Played every uncharted (except golden abyss) at least 2 times and i loved every minute of it, but
the best game i have ever played has to be The last of us, the story is just incredible. I would love to see a video about TLOU and your opinion on the 2 games.
@@SuperSaiyan3985 Naughty Dog STILL and ALWAYS HAS been able to make banger games**
@@SuperSaiyan3985 I did!! It was fantastic
My list from worst to best: GA - U1 - U2 - LL - U3 - U4
I agree with your sentiment that U2 benefits a lot from rose tinted glasses, for a slightly different reason.
Damn this literally Is the perfect list
@@WadeWalker22 ikr! I'm super happy with the UC3 appreciation comments. The atmosphere that the game gives is unmatched.
My ranking:
1. Uncharted 2
2. Uncharted 3
3. Uncharted 1
4. Uncharted 4
5. Lost Legacy
Uncharted 2
Uncharted 4
Uncharted 1
Uncharted 3
I haven’t played lost legacy yet
Uc3 > 1
I finally played through Spec Ops: The Line for the first time and my god the story is a masterpiece. No other game has ever made me actually think about the things we gamers usually do in games without batting an eye and actually made me feel uncomfortable over them on several occasions.
Would love to see you make a video on it someday since even though the gameplay is very average even for it's time it absolutely should be experienced by everyone who can stomach it!
Anyway keep up the amazing videos!
We need a Uncharted séries for Victor Sullivan he is legendary
Aqua, I LOVE your videos! Especially your Uncharted videos. I actually quite like your voice and find you easy to listen to for a long period of time. Keep up the awesome work, man!
Wow, that outro hit out of nowhere. Points to you for being so genuine!
My ranking : Golden Abyss
Drake's Fortune
Lost Legacy
Among Theives
A Theive's End
Drakes Deception

Here's my personal ranking:
1. Uncharted 4
2. Uncharted 2
3. Uncharted 3
4. Lost Legacy
5. Uncharted 1
6. Golden Abyss
Logical
We need an Uncharted prequel where you play as Sully
Great video!
Keep in mind, if you polish your flaws too much, you may smooth over any unique ridges you once had. You'll be featureless. Your channel is great and you should feel proud.
I agree with this ranking btw. Honestly, 4 and Lost Legacy are the only ones with satisfying gunplay. The OG 3 feel so damn floaty imo.
Uncharted 3 has a special place in my heart bc it was the first one i played. I think i like it a lot more than most people
My personal gripe with the Nadine fight is that Nate’s literally bulldozed thousands of people, but one military trained woman is too much of a handful.
Lost Legacy isn’t talked about enough. Chloe’s such a great lead and I would love for her to be the protagonist if the series were to continue.
Imo it's not that great really, she's kinda mid.
i agree, i wouldn't want another uncharted game with nate as a protagonist, simply since 4 ended with him in a great place narratively and rather than having a new character on the forefront, i think chloe would be the best pick
Yeap it's basically mix of 2&4 and Chloe&Nadine is a fun duo. I want a sequel to them much more than Cassie.
@@ekysboham This is a mid critique
My ranking:
1: Lost Legacy
2: Among Thieves
3: A Thiefs End
4: Drakes Deception
5: Golden Abyss
6: Drakes Fortune
1:58 Her name’s mentioned/shown in Uncharted 4 when Nate’s in his attic
honestly i didn't believe that someone else might have the same idea as mine about the lost legacy. in my opinion it would have been number if it was longer and have more depth to its story yeah but since the other games all focus on nate and built up lore for the U4 it was clear the lost legacy can't be first but if they release prequels or sequels to lost legacy that focus on chloe nadine (and Sam in sequels) i would honestly love more than a another game featuring nate. i really love the chemistry between those 3 non main characters
Good Luck. :)
I actually completely agree with this list. You rated these in the exact order I would have. Well done!
idc what anybody says, uncharted is the best game franchise ever.
it’s better than every other game franchise (excluding the batman arkham franchise).
In my opinion:
1. Uncharted 2
2. Uncharted 4
3. Uncharted 1
4. Uncharted 3
U3 is the most nostalgic game for me!!! Since it’s first release until it’s last day, I played LIKE A LOT of online death matches and coop arenas ❤❤❤
Great video! I’d go
1. Uncharted 4
2. Uncharted 2
3. Uncharted 3
4. Lost Legacy
5. Uncharted 1
It's funny, because I also started with turn-based fantasy and ended up breaking into other types of games with Uncharted 4. I absolutely loved it.
dude i gtta say i literally fall asleep to your voice(not cuz im bored either) no weird stuff but someone says ur voice is annoying they are tweaking
Best: Uncharted 2
Second best: Uncharted 4
Third best: Uncharted 1
Fourth best: Uncharted 3 (mid)
Haters gonna hate, but in the end, you are the one catching W’s (Feel like the last sentence was cringe but allow it)
Thank you sincerely. I'm always glad that my videos can have that kind of impact, and I will do my best to keep making them fun for you and me.
@@ThatBoyAqua YOU REPLIED LETS GOOOO!!! Genuinely made my day that you responded to me. And bro any work you put out I'm sure most of us are gonna enjoy, just some people gonna hate. I still remember I think the first time you replied to me was sometime ago when I asked you to make vid on Kingdom hearts but you said that there isn't much to talk about. Keep up the amazing work
These games were extremely formative for me, including being my first love affair with multi-player online gaming back on Uncharted 2, so this is probably gonna be some nostalgia talking, but here is my ranking:
5. Lost legacy
4. Drake's deception
3. A thiefs end
2. Drake's fortune
1. Among thieves
ur voice aint annoying its pretty calming and easy to listen to
The stories in uncharted have always impressed me especially for a video game. Part of the allure of uncharted originally was the cinematic cutscenes, the story, the acting, and the facial animations and motion capture. It's interesting that he doesn't like uncharted stories but I respect the opinion.
Bro your videos slap! Keep doing whatever you feel like
Yo aqua I love your videos man you’ve inspired me to play so many games like the infamous series
can you pls explain what was lacking for you in the story of the games because the main reason i love this series so much is the story (amazing video btw)
UNCHARTED 2>4 >3 >1 >any other uncharted.
Any uncharted WITHOUT Drake doesn't feel real for me.
Npc opinion
@@leaks2.073 Yep. Am mostly too busy with real life.
Also lost legacy was really really boring, the combat sequences were good, but the story is just so boring and the open world thing didn't really do as well as in uncharted 4
hey i highly respect your outro and love your videos , you do you and we are here to watch you dont let the hater phase what u love doing
I think that lost legacy could have been when Chloe and Elana were off screen and getting to see what was happening
