      technically the utv industry started in the 80s with the Odyssey then up to the Pilot. Imagine where it would be if there hadnt been a pause between the Pilot in early 90s and the rebirth of utvs in the early 2000s.

    Crazy too think now they have an even better Rzr and canam. Crazy how far these cars have come. Fell in love with my cousin turbo s when I was little. My brother in law bought a 2020 x3 x ds turbo r and it was flipped the first week of owning it. My cousin fixed it in his garage and then he ended up passing away the next year. I Ended up buying the canam. I don’t think I ever plain to get rid of it. Or replace the parts he fixed. It’s only 175 hp but hopefully in a year or 2 it’ll be pushing 300-350 easily.

    Great Video. Can Am XRC car outperformed the RZR in this side x side. My buddy has the XRC and it is everything you validate in the video. I purchased the 2018 Can Am XRS MAX w/Smartlock as I wanted room for my hunting dog or 6'3" boys. I am 6'3" as well, we all fit and are very comfortable. I rode in a 2019 Turbo RZR 4 seater and my knees were pressed agains't the dash. The person behind me accually had to turn his knees to go over the center floor hump. NO ROOM, very uncomfortable for taller guys.

    I can’t decide which one to get ☹️ wish I could test both of them. Better yet, I wish I had $150k to just get a custom built buggy with a LS3 😂😭 can am def looks better. I like how Polaris is American made. I’ve heard stories about both brands, good and bad. I’ve noticed a large majority of the racers are in RZRs. Going on 2 months now and still can’t pull the trigger on one. About to just flip a coin and get one. I’m in SoCal so def want a 72”. From what i can tell, the X3 out performs the Polaris Rzr in this video. I mean on the whoop section of the video it's pretty clear who handles better. As for the travel, Polaris is saying that you get 25" of usable travel, I find that misdirecting as I'm sure they're counting the inches from the 32" tires. I would say you actually get the 18" inches in the front, which they confusingly have on the specs. I don't know, you guys be the judge and see if you can justify the $30K price tag on the new money grab of a rzr. If i had to do it again I would of bought the X3 as it seems to be a better machine overall.

    MY 2 cents,
    the can am still has the open diff front end, and in potential roll over situation this has been the deciding factor in turning and driving out of a roll or yard saleing the machine. Many situations where the can am rolls over the leading tire, if that tire was locked to the diff to PULL thru the roll the machine can be righted. Smart loc only works at slow speed.
    Polaris dont have the negative in their machine. Axles are breaking in races, ASK Dustin " axel breaker " jones the seem to not finish a race due to some part breaking. Bigger tires i suspect are the culprit. That rotational mass is to much for the drive train even when beefed with after market.
    The added aftermarket parts to your can am is adding strength that from the show room the X3 does not have.
    The usable suspension is still not there and you can see it in the video. The geometry can am is wheels above the center line where the RZR is wheels below.
    Both machines do what they are designed to do, go fast in rough terrain. The RZR S has more capability to adapt to the terrain with out haveing to worry much about settings. Find the one that makes it smooth for what you are doing.
    SIte lines are still better in RZR the CENTER of gravity for both machine are the same. The perception that you FEEL better in the can am is due to sitting back in a reclined form. Only time I hit my KNEES on the door of the rzr is if my left foot is not on the foot rest.
    Long term seat time, my lower back does not appreciate the reclined form of the can am, RZR dont seem to have that issue.
    RZR dynamix is superior suspention off the show room floor where any one can sit down and enjoy the ride. POLARIS once again KNOWS the market and puts out a machine that allows anyone to feel more confident behind the wheel.
    Can AM will bring out their dynamix in some format and of course will be labeled GAME CHANGER..
    Name the game is BUTTS in seats, Polaris still has this game winning.

      Mike you are a idiot every word you just said is false and i quote, With Can-Am's new Smart-Lok differential, the clutch pack is engaged by an electronic actuator. That means it can engage instantly regardless of speed. It knows when to engage based on a set of sensors throughout the machine as well as the selected ride setting. It knows if you're cornering hard when you start losing traction so it will only partially engage to keep you from losing control-cornering is a no-go with a fully locked front diff. If you have it set to ROCK mode, it should engage fully and instantaneously with only minor slips at low speed. There's also a toggle to engage the diff lock regardless of the terrain. Basically it knows when you a little slippage is good and when it's not.

      So you claim, but that is not what is happening. I will be glad to be corrected by factual content instead of fallacious rants.
      Can am has finally gotten a front diff that is comparable to Polairs, good for can am. I will wait for some explanation on what you claim. As far as any one can tell for now, the locking is not done automatic at SPEED only slow speed.

      Mike Panocatapolis if the rzr is so badass and the fires were only caused by gas cans in the bed explain this? Consumer Product Safety Commission announced that Polaris Industries, of Medina, Minnesota will pay a civil penalty of $27.35 million for failing to report defective RZR models and recreational off-road vehicles. The CPSCalso announced a recall of more than 100,000 Polaris model year 2014 to 2018 RZR XP 1000 ROVs. “If the exhaust silencer fatigues and cracks, the heat shield may fail to manage heat, which may lead to melting of nearby components or fire,” said CPSC acting chairman, Ann Marie Buerkle, in a statement.
      By the time that Polaris reported risks with model years 2013 through 2016 RZR 900s and model years 2014 through 2016 RZR 1000 ROVS, they had received reports of 11 burn injuries and 150 fires, one of which resulted in the death of a 15-year-old passenger. Another fire consumed 10 acres of land. By the time Polaris reported a defect with 2014 Rangers, they had received 36 reports of fires associated with the model.

      @UTVGuide101  6 лет назад +19

      We've been over this a dozen times and explained the reasoning. Not ideal that the X3 has a cage and some suspension work, but we do not feel that it affected our testing. Change in tires was a decision we made on purpose and we are glad we did it that way to remove tires from the equation. If you cannot accept that, do you own test and show us how to do it right.

    • @eschenn1
      @eschenn1 6 лет назад +5

      UTV Guide tires make a difference. Why don't you mention the consequences of running 32s on a machine not designed for it??? The fact is that the test is skewed, I would imagine that OEMs who put all that development into running 32s and then watch you "take it off the table" without mentioning anything about the negatives of running them.. Hmm guessing they may not agree

      SCHEND0 as we have said before, hats off to Polaris for designing the car to handle 32-inch tires from the factory. We run 32-inch tires for desert type terrain so that is a plus knowing that the vehicle was validated with larger tires gives you confidence that it will hold up to the extra strain on he drive train. But at the end of the day, we tested how we drive them and that means 32-inch tires. We are true enthusiasts not just media guys trying to get you to our website with click bait titles. As an enthusiast, we want to know how they work with 32-inch tires so that is what we did. It also means we could focus on handling without wondering if the tire cause the difference.

    Both great machines but Polaris engineers need to go to styling school. That roll cage is butt fucking ugly! Does anyone really need 2 feet of headroom above their helmet?
