Hey Chris my family has owned campers most of my adult life and winterizing them ourselves these are my sugestions.
    1. Leave plug out of water heater pressure changes from cold to hot in winter to spring can reak havok on seals. Just reseal the plug in the spring when you go to use it the first time.
    2. Blow out your drains with a shopvac on reverse direction (make sure shopvac is clean inside and make sure outside drains are open).
    3. Ive never had problems with moisture inside a camper over the winter but instred of a dehumidifer use damprid catches.
    4. After i blow out the water from my lines i pump antifreeze through the lines just make sure you use antifreeze that doesnt contain ethanol it will destroy the rubber of what ever seals it touches.
    5. After you blow the water out of the traps put the antifreeze in the traps like u did on the vid but it wont be diluted by the water in the traps.
I hope this helps thank you for the great vids!!

Yeah. It's not too bad. Probably takes 30 minutes in reality. Just need to blow the water out really. Have a great Thanksgiving as well!

Ok so I didn’t have a comment on this yesterday, but “we bought a camper” got stuck in my head. I kept singing it and by son asked me “what? You bought a camper?”

LOL. Kind of catchy right! It got stuck in my head after making this video as well. She wants to finish writing the song and then do an official music video for it.

@@NoNonsenseKnowHow I know it's a year and a half later but I think she should do it if it hasn't already been done.

Great video! Much more info than the lance owner's manual. Thanks!
I didn't notice water coming from that rear valve. Can't get any from mine, just wondering what the trick is.
LOVE the song at end. Your wife has a great voice and you're pretty snappy on the git-fiddle.😁

One small additional winterizing step I do is to open the city water port by pressing on the screen. I use RV antifreeze in my lines and I make sure it comes out of the city connection.

Blowing out the lines , generally does not blow water from the pump. In my opinion, the only way to winterize the pump is to suck AF thru it.

How do you create the blow out gig you made?

    • @NoNonsenseKnowHow

You just need a regulator and some fittings. I would imagine they probably sell something already pre-made if you look on Amazon though

I have a 94 Lance 10’ camper . Don’t see an air inlet to blow out my tanks and lines . Is yours home made ? Thanks

    • @NoNonsenseKnowHow
      @NoNonsenseKnowHow  3 года назад +1

Yeah it's just a airline regulator adapted down to GHT. I assume you have the municipal hook up on the outside of yours correct?
