Named after his great-uncle and builder Heinrich Schmall, Karl-Heinrich Pfeffermann's house is idyllically situated on the Lahn in Gießen. With the round balcony structure and the porthole windows, the Schmall house has the character of a ship. Not without reason, because the whole family has a close connection to water and rowing. The building, designed in the Bauhaus style, is one of Giessen's cultural monuments and is a listed building.
